My husband and I stopped here for a very late lunch. When we arrived, we were asked where we would like to sit. When I requested a table near the water, the hostess seemed a bit out of sorts as she would have to move a set of silverware We started our meal with a sampler of appetizers. It was excellent...crab balls, shrimp, scallops with bacon and stuffed mushroom...hot and yummy. We both ordered the scallops and shrimp over pasta. It was cooked to perfection, with plenty of seafood. The sides of beans and red potatoes were good, but my salad was frozen. For years, I have heard nothing but rave reviews for Suicide Bridge. When we first tried it about four years ago, we had a wonderful experience with both the food and the staff! When one of our family members chose it as their destination for a birthday celebration, we expected nothing less. The fried calamari was a dark, almost burnt brown, and tasted of old, over-used grease. The dinner salads were mediocre, and the Caesar salad was wilted and soggy. Having some of the highest crab prices we've encountered on the Eastern Shore, we were expecting fat, delicious crabs. The crabs were light and had a funny taste to them, and inevitably one dozen were returned to the kitchen. A medium Delmonico steak was brought out well-done, while a shrimp and scallop pasta was so drenched in sherry it was inedible. The highlight of the meal was the Kools Crab Cake and a delicious cut of prime-rib, however, there wasn't enough of either of these to satisfy the two other party members who were afraid to complain or reorder at this point Overall, our experience was very disappointing, especially in light of the price points on many of the menu items. It is very likely we will not venture back, even though our waitress tried to make the best of an overall bad situation. read more

We sat outside and it was full of bugs, obviously no fault of the restaurant. The service was pretty slow and the food quality was weak. When we got the bill we were really put off by the prices. We are on an adventure this summer to find the best steamed crabs. We came here as our third stop. Couldn't decide between large and jumbo and the waitress talked us into large. They were outstanding. So much do, we couldn't finish a dozen so we picked the last four and we have so much meat, I'm making crab soup when we get home. Manager came to our table twice to make sure we were satisfied and gave us a ton of information. We went on Friday evening for the buffet but upon seeing the menu only one of our party of 4 got the buffet the rest of us were just in awe of all the menu choices! We were told to arrive by 5 on buffet nights because of parking. 5:15 was absolutely perfect , seated right away. Staff was perfect , waitress was very pleasant and helpful. Food arrival was quick despite the growing crowd. My husband loved the buffet , I got the bbq shrimp I was a lil worried since the shrimp were swimming in sauce but it was delicious, the fish Francaise was huge, And the shrimp scampi was perfect extra garlicky as requested. Coconut shrimp a bit mushy, crab dip yummy. Definitely would come back happily. Can't give a perfect star review because it wasn't perfect def room for improvement but def enjoyed the evening read more

My husband and I had reservations here for our anniversary dinner. We walked in gave our name and said we prefer outdoor seating if available. The hostess said we could seat ourselves and there was plenty of tables available. We walked around the building to the deck to find only 2 tables available, we sat down at one and waited 15 min for no wait staff to even acknowledge that we were there. It was like we were invisible as they walked by. We decided to go back inside and be seated. This time the hostess said it would be 30-40 min for a dining room table even with a reservation but there are plenty of seats in the bar. We decided to try the bar to find one tiny table for two and a couple of seats at the crowded bar. Not how we imagined our anniversary dinner so we walked out. I can't review food and drinks cause we never got that far. But the customer service is horrible. Reservations mean nothing so don't even bother. read more

I am old enough to remember the old Suicide Bridge restaurant. It was the first place I drove to with my buddies in 1971 when I got my drivers license at age sixteen. I miss the atmosphere of the old restaurant. While the restaurant as it is today is nice, and the food is okay, I simply do not enjoy going there as much as I did before the place was revamped as a more upscale restaurant. Gone are the days when a high school student working part-time could buy a soft-shell crab sandwich, a dozen crab balls, and a soda, and still get change back from a ten dollar bill. I suppose that when they replaced the cook with a "chef", prices were bound to go up, not to mention the cost of keeping two big riverboats maintained. In short, the establishment is more "touristy" today than it is a place for "locals". Most locals know where to get better seafood for better prices. read more

I only give 3 stars because while the Staff was friendly but slow. The Gentleman shucking the oysters was absolutely wonderful. The buffet was not up to par. For as busy as they were you think the food would have been kept up a little better. I might give it another try on the menu side but I really wouldnt recommend the buffet. Dinner was OK. Probably 2 1/2 stars. I had the stuffed flounder and it was a huge serving and a bit over-cooked but tasty. The sides were awful. Potatoes with bacon and what tasted like cheese whiz. The veg medley was cooked to death and didn't taste fresh at all. My wife, not a fan of seafood, had the BBQ chicken which was horrible. A couple of overdone breasts with store bought BBQ sauce smeared on. Dreadful. So I guess if you eat here go for what most people go for...the seafood. read more

Very fresh soft succulent we ordered 2 doz of the jumbo and added half a doz later. Everyone who tried enjoyed them. I feel like I am always taking a chance with these two dishes as they usually aren't done well or they are amazingly good. We've noticed the last few times we've been here the food portion was getting smaller and the service was getting slower. Last night was the worst. We waited forever for a waitress and then when she finally did come and take our drink orders we were another 15 min getting them. The 6oz Filet Mignon looked more like a 2oz, the baked potato was so small my husband literally had 4 bites out of it, there were only about 8 fries on my plate, the salads were nothing but lettuce and a couple onion slices, we had more coleslaw in our little bowls then anything else that was on our plates. Our waitress had no personality whatsoever and never did offer any dessert. We left there more hungry then we were when we got there. We were disappointed this time. read more

The cruise was good..The waitress was very good..But..But.. the food was awful the primerib was so hard you could not eat it..The potatos was cold..and the vegetables.. First visit ever and I'm from the eastern Shore. I almost could not believe just how horrible this visit was. Went for lunch and was so looking forward to it...definitely wanted this place to be enjoyable. First we were seated at a table that was not only greasy but the silverware was greasy. Both of us ordered shrimp salad. His sandwich was nothing more than overly salted with old bay mayonnaise and a few tiny (quarter size) shrimp (farm raised I suspected), My platter was a piece of wilted lettuce served in a hot dish. Both were served warm as if they had been sitting out in the kitchen. We asked if we could send it back and get something else and our server was agreeable to that. It took forever at that point to get the back up which was a tiny, soggy, overly salted, greasy, frozen soft crab which I did not eat after trying. She asked me if it was any better and I replied "not really, I believe it was frozen" to which she replied "you have to ask".....In a seafood restaurant, on the water, on the eastern shore? *RIVERBOAT Crab Feast Review only* The restaurant hosts an all you can eat crab feast lunch cruise($52). There is a schedule on the restaurant's website. There are also another lunch, dinner and a murder mystery cruise. The Suicide Bridge is not a tall bridge by any means, just so happens some decided to spend their last few moments on earth there before they decided to exit this world on their own terms. This was my first time(Aug 8, 2013) going on a cruise of this nature, so I didn't know what to expect. First off, I would recommend going on a day where there are 2 cruises scheduled. The first cruise that set sail was almost full to capacity as there were a couple charter buses that had arrived for the cruise; and there were seated on the top and bottom deck. Our boat only filled the bottom deck and after we ate we were able to enjoy the top deck without being elbow to elbow with anybody. It helps to have a pair of binoculars to peer at the large and gorgeous homes along the river, something my party did have. The paddle steam boat cruises along the Choptank River. Once on the boat, there is assigned seating. Your name is written on the table cover, which is similar to brown shipping paper. The table setting is already placed along with condiments/papertowels; and the coleslaw is already plated. The cabbage was shredded finely and it tasted sweet. Food is served to you in the following order: crab soup, corn on the cob, fried chicken, fried clam strips and crab.You have to get your own beverage from the bar;Pepsi products are served. Soft drinks, tea and water are free. I would suggest that if you go with 3 or more people, get a pitcher or 2 of the beverages you want all at one time as there is a line that forms if you are only seeking out one beverage at a time or if the cruise has a lot of people on it. Dessert was cheesecake and it was self serve. Some pieces were drizzled with caramel, chocolate or raspberry syrup. Service was good, friendly and provided by 2 young girls in their late teens or 20s. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that they served the crab to you with their bare hands. Everything else was served in a professional manner. Entertainment consisted of a piano player who sang any and everything you requested. By no means was he annoying at all, just very professional and pleasant. He even sang Proud Mary. "Rollin on the river...," which was so fitting since that's what we were doing! There was a senior lady who took to the mic a few times to sing a melody or two and boy did she have a WONDERFUL voice! She had to be a professional singer in her day. The first boat had sailed off with a banjo player as entertainment. I enjoyed the piano player very much. The cruise lasted 3hrs total and the turn around was the harbor at Cambridge where boats were docked and there were condos on the water. You could easily eat for the whole 3hrs if you weren't careful! Food quality was good, and as other reviewers have put it, appropriate for family dining and not a foodie! Carry a few singles or 5s as there are tip jars for the pianist and the bar. There are only 2 bathrooms which are small and are similar to a home bath. This is an ideal day trip since on the way back you could stop at the many fresh produce stands and the hit the outlet mall before you cross back over the bay bridge. Reflecting on this, it was more about the experience; so DON'T go there with a city attitude or pretentiousness. Everyone I encountered was nice, even fellow cruisers who owned their own vessels were nice enough to invite you on a sailing excursion the next time you were on the Eastern shore! read more

Very disappointing, our waitress had to be related to the owner because I can't see them keeping her otherwise. She took our drink order and disappeared, 20-25 minutes into us being seated we finally got drinks, she seemed shocked when she asked if we were ready to order and we said yes. 1 hour and 50 minutes from beginning to end an all we got were cheese burgers and surf and turf burger. The cheese burgers were so dry, like tree bark dry... and the surf and turf was less than ok. It was just not a good visit at all. At the end of the meal when the bill came the waitress became super sweet and friendly all of a sudden. I still tipped 15% because I'm not an asshole and we were kind to her, but in all honesty the only tip this lady deserved was a tip of 'maybe you should look into another line of work'. My average tip is usually 20-30%. Nothing about my visit would make me want to revisit again. Ever. We did have a good view though... read more

We live in Salisbury, so it seemed like it took forever for us to get there. It truly is in the middle of nowhere . I had heard lots of good things about this place so I took my husband here for his birthday dinner. October 23rd 2009 We were seated by the window just in time to see one of the most beautiful sunsets the both of us had ever seen. I wish I could tell you it only got better. For as pricey as the menu is , the place seems a bit run down. Maybe that was the charm. I wasn't charmed. The food was so ordinary I could have made it in my own kitchen. The service, however was excellent. There were a lot of good friendly helpful people. That really made my experience a tad better. I almost felt bad for not liking the joint. We spent about 150 for 3 people ( including tip) . We were frustrated and still hungry. It was an expensive long drive. Ohhh but much more expensive than we thought. While On the way home, on the pitch black twisty creepy road, we hit a deer. I was so shaken, I vomited up my dinner. This was just a bad night. We have never gone back. read more

Have a reservation, had to wait about 20 minutes to be sat (not a big deal), but when we got upstairs they had plenty of open tables... once we were sat we waited 20 more minutes where a young girl (seemed like she was a good runner/busser) asked if we had been helped yet. We said no. 5+ minutes later a server came up and asked if we had been treated yet, again we say no. She then goes on about how she will help up then since our "supposed server" hasn't, and she "likes money"... weird joke, but okay. I too am a server and that's the oldest lie in the book. Clearly she was always going to be our server, but was too busy to get to us in a timely fashion. Which was just a trend for the entire night. I have never been to a place in my entire life where the service is so slow. We spent 3.5 hours here. We got half of our food about an hour after we ordered, and then the half of us that were eating crabs got our food about 45 minutes after that. Absolutely ridiculous, not saying it was our servers fault, but management should've came over and talked to us. Crabs were fine, but worth a 2 hours wait? No. When it was all said and done they took 20% off the price of the crabs, which at the point felt like why even do anything at all. We went to this restaurant because my in-laws rave about it. We decided on the Friday seafood buffet because we wanted to try a variety of the menu. Big mistake! The shrimp scampi was only pasta. The crab imperial was really dry and had shells in it. The raw oysters were obviously fresh water and farm raised as they had no taste. The fried oysters were mushy. The peel and eat shrimp were over cooked and you could hardly get the shells off. The prime rib was about the only good food on the buffet. I decided that I couldn't do wrong with the desert. Boy was I wrong. All the cake was also dry. We complained to our waitress who said that no one else had complained. When she brought our check she had charged us for drinks on the kids meals. When we pointed out her mistake she tried to argue with us that it was not included. I had to pull the menu out to show her that the drinks were included. After we paid for our meal we decided to seek out the manager to let her know our experience was not very good. She was very rude and stated that they were not busy so the food on the buffet was not replaced as much as it usually was. While my husband was speaking with her, 7 or 8 staff members stood around watching the discussion. Not that we were looking for it, but she offered no compensation for the horrible experience we had.
