Been coming here for toddler swim lessons and just did my kiddo's birthday party. Booked a huge…read morecommunity room which was more than enough space for about 10 kids and 20 adults. Family swim passes are a great deal at $30 per family pass (covers 7 people). Everyone had a great time and were impressed with how new and shiny this facility is, and the kids loved the family pool area.

Craving an indoor pool during the December break, my eight-year-old daughter suggested this newer…read moreaquatic center in Arlington close to the D.C. border. After swimming during their "family time," we will definitely be back. Here's why. 1) Admission: Run by Arlington Parks and Rec, admission is required for everyone. It's slightly cheaper for Arlington residents. Our friends who went right when family time started paid $25 as D.C. residents. We got their with only two hours left and weren't charged anything. 2) Pools: One side has lap pools for adults and lessons. The other side has a large pool, lazy river, little kid space, and water slide for families. The water was clean and the lazy river was fun. (The current is stronger than expected making it fun.) 3) Space: They have family changing areas with showers with hot water, lockers (bring your own locks), and more. Upstairs is a gym and an outdoor terrace bleeding into Long Bridge Park with views of National Airport and Washington, D.C. 4) Parking: With such a large parking lot, you can usually find a space. Of course, parking is free. 5) Area: Afterwards, grab lunch or dinner at nearby Crystal City where you can find fats casual like Rasa and sit-down restaurants.

What a great recreation center! Parts of it are outdated like the entrance and check-in area to the…read morepool, but overall, it's an excellent recreational center. Here's why. 1) Indoor Pool: The indoor pool is kept clean and is pretty big with half of the pool shallow for kids to play in with splash areas and a water slide. The other half is laned for adults to swim. There are always lifeguards there and the space provides life jackets for kids and adults if needed. There are changing rooms with lockers too. 2) Amenities: Inside is a gym with treadmills, weights, and more, and other rooms for classes, etc. With a permit, you can rent their multi-purpose room for birthday parties and it comes with a small kitchen connected to the room. Inside are murals of the neighborhood by local artists. Outside is a field, a rocket ship-themed playground, a statue of a dap, and a field. 3) Parking: Free street parking is easy to find just outside the rec center. 4) Staff: I always find the staff to be friendly and reasonable. They are great!

I've been twice to use the gym, and I must say it's pretty decent. Also full length mirrors and good lighting so the gym selfies are always popping. My friends go to the indoor pool and they love it and when I pooped my head inside the gym, it looks pretty nice too. The facilities are super clean and the staff (that I've encountered) is really nice. They've really done a nice job updating this center. It's also free with a dc license so enjoy your tax dollars at work!

I am no newcomer to military campgrounds, having used them since 1982. I have stayed at over three…read moredozen different ones, Army, Navy and Air Force. This one is the worst, by far. The first thing I saw when entering the Famcamp was an overflowing dumpster; grossly overflowing. After setting up, our first trip is to the bathhouse. My wife informed me the ladies room was disgusting, and there was only one roll of toilet paper in the entire restroom. That was one more than in the men's room. The men's room also has more than half of the light fixtures inoperable (which did imrove the appearance). The grounds are also lacking basic maintenance, with trash and broken limbs lying about in various places. There is evidence of past improvements, such as concrete pads for the sites. It appears that the current leadership for the Famcamp has no interest in maintaining it.

Very disappointing experience. The amenities are unacceptable. The bathrooms and showers are…read moreunsanitary and unusable, and there is no laundry facility on the RV grounds. The game room has no heat, making it unusable in cold weather. During the recent storm, the RV area was not cleared or maintained. The rest of the base roads were passable, but the RV grounds were not, leaving us effectively stuck and unable to move our RV. Despite not being able to access or use our RV site due to these conditions, we were still charged. To make matters worse, management has been unreachable and has not returned calls. For a facility on a military installation, this level of upkeep and customer service is unacceptable. I cannot recommend staying here until basic sanitation, maintenance, and communication issues are addressed.
