There were no strict rules about food/ catering so I was able to bring in what I wanted for the kids. The owner also stayed the whole time for the event which was helpful. A lot of youth sports, adult league baseball and softball, it's just one of those parks that stays active. You can pull up on any given day and see games, practices, or people just out enjoying the space. The park has a lot to offer too. Baseball fields, basketball courts, tennis and pickleball courts, open sports fields, walking paths, and even a dog park. There's a nice skate section, solid playgrounds, and plenty of space to just hang out. Growing up, we used to run around the playground area with family and have small cookouts. Just simple times, but those are the kind of memories that stick with you. Now it's cool getting to come back and watch the youth in my family play sports in the same places people once watched me, and being able to share those memories together. That part really hits different. Everything is kept up well, and there's enough space where it doesn't feel overcrowded even when it's busy. Overall, it's more than just a park to me. It's one of those places that's always been there, and still delivers. Great for sports, family time, or just getting outside. The good old days type of spot for sure.

Here's why. 1) Indoor Pool: The indoor pool is kept clean and is pretty big with half of the pool shallow for kids to play in with splash areas and a water slide. The other half is laned for adults to swim. There are always lifeguards there and the space provides life jackets for kids and adults if needed. There are changing rooms with lockers too. 2) Amenities: Inside is a gym with treadmills, weights, and more, and other rooms for classes, etc. With a permit, you can rent their multi-purpose room for birthday parties and it comes with a small kitchen connected to the room. Inside are murals of the neighborhood by local artists. Outside is a field, a rocket ship-themed playground, a statue of a dap, and a field. 3) Parking: Free street parking is easy to find just outside the rec center. 4) Staff: I always find the staff to be friendly and reasonable. They are great!

The facilities are super clean and the staff (that I've encountered) is really nice. They've really done a nice job updating this center. It's also free with a dc license so enjoy your tax dollars at work!

Also when you bring up legal affairs they will ( in the same breath) delete camera footage and tell you that you may only direct your concerns to higher up directors because you brought up legal affairs . They lie about involving higher ups when families are upset so that you do not reach out yourself . The directors allow their staff to let new babies cry for long periods of time . They hire idiots that know nothing about the law or how to care for peoples INFANTS. And should be cited for deleting camera footage ,before the 30 day waiting period .
