There is varied parking. Lots B and C are closest to the track but the back lot has more than enough room for overflow. The track is tucked behind fencing cut there is more than enough space for tents and space to camp out outside the venue. While it's no VA Beach or Greensboro, the space does the job. The staff was kind and the park had more than enough police presence to keep it safe.

This is THEE hub. Because of the egregious amount of people, expect to park far as hell from the complex. Even better, use your phone flashlight to illuminate your walkway because there only a few street lamps. Perhaps this is why, even in the crosswalk, you too can have an invigorating rush as your life flashes before your eyes in the stark headlights of a metro bus who never heard of a brake! Finally, enjoy the amenities in the aquatic center two informational desks down in a basement where lockers require $1.00 in coins. Quarters to be exact! Because why not! You've paid for a membership and/or a class, why not pay for the nostalgia of loose change! Who needs the year 2026?! Extroverts, this is the spot. Introverts, you will feel overwhelmed and wonder what fresh hell did you step in, probably try to power through until the pesky locker thwarts all defenses. You'll throw your hands up and peace tf out and say to yourself, yep I shall stick to the aquatic centers only. More manageable.

Unfortunately there are only a couple of lanes available in the deep end as the rest of the deep end is saved for things like water aerobics. The weight room was pretty disappointing. It was missing quite a bit of equipment I would expect in a weight room. I ended up choosing a different gym for my weight lifting, as I was constantly having to change my planned workout due to a lack of equipment. The pool is good though.

My kid's been doing gymnastics since she was 4. Had her here for almost two years (between summer programs and actual enrollments) and I've got to be honest, her growth was stunted. She could be and she be much further along than she is. Recently, at seven, she's had the wherewithal to say, "my new class is so much harder... they actually teach us the right ways and make us do it." Says a lot. I also want to add that this gym offers Friday night fun clubs for about $40. My kid used to love them. However, recently, Fletcher decided to put my child in timeout and tell her that if she didn't do something, she wouldn't get any pizza. Now, it's 2024 and what we're NOT doing is isolating children and threatening not to meet their basic needs (food), especially without calling their parents. When I asked my daughter later about the entire situation, it was clear that Fletcher (who regularly talks too quickly and gets tongue tied) had confused my child. She was genuinely CONFUSED by what he was asking her to do. I think this made clear to me how ill-equipped folks here are to deal with children. Her confusion was SO developmental and could've been addressed/avoided with clearer instructions. But instead, you chose to punish her in an isolating and embarrassing way at what was supposed to be a fun Friday party? Without calling me? Nah, cuz. We will NOT BE BACK. Also, watching your child from a screen vs. in the gym is wack AF.

The children spent a lot of time watching TV. The 5 weeks that my daughter was there they went outside 1 time. Also, Coach Fletcher would regularly bring his big intimidating dog to the gym. This is highly unprofessional as children have allergies and fears of big dogs. I witnessed a little boy crying frantically when he saw the dog and the coach laughed and told him he's a friendly dog. That was the last straw for me.

The water is the cleanest and nicest I've ever had in a pool - they use a moss system as part of the filtration and to my feel there are fewer chemicals and a much nicer water feel. Except for my pet peeves - expensive parking, the fairly frequent closings for meets, and the very annoying "oops sorry the natatorium is closed today because a few people called out" it would be 5++++ stars. The combination of these really stinks - pay $6.75 for parking only to find the pool is closed. The gym is amazing with dozens of complete weight setups of all types, I can't really imagine a better equipped gym. Basketball, badminton, and lots of other things go on there that I don't know about. I mostly do strength-training and then laps in the pool. The locker rooms are excellent - clean and well equipped. The Community Center needs to have a review to reflect the upgrade of the walking/hiking trails…read morethat have been constructed. Tucker Road has a ice skating rink along with baseball/football fields and tennis courts. But my main interest in coming here for the last three years has been to exercise, they provide many different paths at the center with many circuitous routes. I like to circle the entire property when walking and this amounts to approximately 3/4 of a mile and there are many activities and games being played so you're not just looking at greenery around you, which is never a bad thing. I am pleased with the progress of TRCC and am rating on the presumed upgrades they will continue to make. Overall I see it as an average to above average area to get a nice walk in. And what's wrong with that.

Ridge Road Recreation Center proves that the best playgrounds are East of the River. Located just…read moreoff of Fort Dupont Park in Benning Ridge, the recreation is more like a campus with a recreation center, pool, courts, a field and an epic playground. There's parking along the street. The playground itself is less busy compared to other playgrounds and kept well. There's one high-tech activity for kids and plenty of slides, climbing structures and rest areas for parents. Restrooms are nearby.
