I needed a new white tuxedo shirt and black bow tie for a casino party I was scheduled to work. Five years ago, I bought white tuxedo shirts with pleats at Men's Wearhouse at the Deerbrook Mall but I didn't have them anymore. Now, however, Men's Wearhouse no longer carries those. All of their tuxedo shirts are plain front. I remember driving past SuitMart from when I used to live in Greenspoint. It came up in my search results after Men's Wearhouse was a bust. I was able to get a white tuxedo shirt with pleats and a black bow tie for less than $19 at SuitMart. I told one of the owners of the casino party company about what happened and now they recommend SuitMart to employees. I could have ordered it off Amazon or elsewhere but I needed it the next night. At SuitMart, prices are not always posted on signs, you have to look at each item and the price may be on the back. read more

Only because I've had some good experiences here, I give them four stars. However, although the prices are really good, it makes you wonder where they're getting these suits from. There is always a buy one suit, get one FREE. The place is really old and there's a lot of dust, it's also very gloomy. So surprised! I would have never thought to come here but a very well dressed man that I know shops here. We were needing a suit or tux for my son for senior prom. He is tall and skinny and I had already purchased and returned two suits from elsewhere. We walked in and this nice, older gentleman asked to help us. He knew what size my son needed just by looking at him. I showed him a picture of my son's girlfriends dress. He picked up a suit and had my son try it on. It was perfect! The look he wanted. They are tailoring it to fit exactly the right way. Mr. Howard W. was a pleasure to work with! Our super suit mart angel! They also have shoes at great prices! They do have some really flashy, interesting shoes in addition to more basic dress shoes. We didn't end up buying his dress shoes there but mostly because they were somewhat limited in his larger size (11). My son has an affinity for Hawaiian style shirts (a little quirky for a teen, but he wears them well--not with the suit, of course. Lol). They had a nice variety for $9.99! So I don't have much to say about the suites but I do not like the Bait-and-switch that they use on their website. They claim to have slim fit suits on sale. This is an on going promotion that they have not removed from there site and have left up year round. Anyway once you get there they will say that either they are sold out or that Slim Fit Suits is a size and not a style. Of course they have more expensive suits on sale that cost slightly more that they are willing to redirect you to buy. I think that might be a HUGE scam. They know exactly what they are doing. I went to this place during the Christmas season, so selection was limited. A little seedy after dark, so be warned--I just park under the night light and run like the wind to my car! I was specifically looking for a nice insulated jacket for my bro, but the ones they had thin linings. I settled on a coat just so I'd have a present, but felt I could find better for cheaper. Ended up going to Burlington Coat Factory and buying a nicer all weather jacket for my bro who slept in the thing the same night (brothers got ta love em)! Consequently, I returned the other jacket within their return window to get a refund. Don't get me wrong--Suit Mart does have great deals on male clothing, but just this particular item didn't meet my expectation. read more

My experience was by far the absolute worst. Do not come here if you are organizing an event and need your order by a specific deadline. I would give it zero stars if I could. I hate ordered bows and ties back in early June and was told I would have them by the beginning of August. I went to check and it turns out they never put I the order and they even had the wrong color written on the order request. When I had first entered the building I told them I was there to pick up an order and they responded with "and who are you?" In a tone suggesting that I have no business being there. Now I have to hope my order arrives on time and hopefully they haven't made any other errors. Do not waste your money here. I was in Houston for the holidays and stopped by the "SuitMart" on the Sunday or Monday after Christmas to purchase a few suits for my husband and son. The store had a promotion going on with numerous signs stating "Buy One Suit Get Two Free". After two hours of trying on suits, my husband and son selected 5 suits for themselves and one suit for a young man in need. At checkout, we were informed that the suits we selected ( all 6!), were not the suits on sale. I pointed out to the manager, the area manager, and the purchasing manager in separate conversations that their signs advertised "Buy One Suit Get Two Free". I also pointed out that the signs on the suit racks where we selected the suits from did not specify that only select suits were on sale. Their response was, l'm sorry but the sign should have stated "selected varieties". The owner was too busy to converse with me about the issue and told the purchasing manager to offer me 20% off my order. I asked the manager to honor their advertisements. They refused. This certainly felt like FALSE Advertisement. The store refused to honor their advertisements. I submitted a complaint to the Houston Better Business Bureau. I included a picture of the sign and I have several additional pictures proving the store's advertisement. I heard back from the Houston BBB, however the store has not responded as of the writing. There was another couple in the store shopping for the suit deal as well, however they just left when they saw the manager wasn't going to honor the advertisement. read more

BRIDES BEWARE. Terrible service. We saw them at the July bridal extravaganza and a lady reassured us that they were experts on fitting extremely slim men like my fiancé. Since then, they've cancelled his fitting THREE times over three weeks on the day of the appointment and today when he went in to get fitted, the suit was too big and they told him it actually doesn't come in his size and that it would cost in the neighborhood of $100 to alter. They've also messed up a couple of his groomsmen's tuxes. The price is very cheap and that is what attracted us to them because I'm a teacher and don't have a lot of money, but STAY AWAY. We are about a month before it and now having to find somewhere else for a tuxedo. The manager refused to speak with me also. Very poor customer service! Walk in the store and the first thing you notice was the cashier watching TV. There were only one other customer beside me. Walk to the back pick out a suit and of course the next worker was to busy on his phone watching videos. So after 20 mins trying on and picking out what I wanted. I shop at Suit Mart all the time, however today was the first time that I visited the Murphy rd location and it will be my last. I had purchase some items from the main street location I purchase 4 shirts and 2 pair of shoes for birthday gifts for my son 1 pair of shoes was to small. Today i went to return them to main, but they did not have the right size. The associate at that location was helpful and found the shoe at the Murphy road location. That is where my problems began. I entered the Murphy location was not greeted, but they had the shoes on hold I went to look to see what styles they had after not finding anything I went back to do the exchange. After processing the transaction I was informed that I owed $2 and some change I ask why because the shoes that I had were $29.99 the associate said yes but you purchased 2 pair so you received a discount of $2.50. I said I still have 2 pair why do i lose the discount. The associate said and I quote because you did not get them from this location. Wow I then ask for a manager while i was explaining the situation to him the associate was in the background rolling her eyes, sighing, making it clear to me that she was frustrated totally unprofessional behavior. Finally the shift manger came over and began to talk to me however the associate kept butting in until he agreed with her. That is when I said forget it just give me my refund she was quick to say I sure will. Your refund will be $29.43. I told the manager you will lose a net of $27 with this decision and you believe this is right.. I then asked for the owners name and number and he gave me a business card and I left, walking to the car i thought wait I bet that is his card, so I went back in the store entering the store the associate and the manager backs were to me and they were talking about me. Unbelievalbe this associate just cost your company $27 but I am the joke. I ask him was his name the name on the card and he said yes I asked for someone over him he gave me another card. I ask for the associates name and before he could write it she took the card from him and said you can have my name writing it big acoss the back of the card. She is very comfortable with her behavior so that leads me to believe that this is not her first time. This poor manager is obviously more concern with being friends than satisfying his customers.
