Perfect fitting, high-quality, reasonably affordable suits. What's not to love? I worked with Fran at Suitsupply to fit myself and my 11 groomsmen for new wedding suits. Yes, you read that right: 11. I'm a people person, okay? Despite the groomsmen being scattered across the country, some in places without a Suitsupply, Fran did a fantastic job of making sure that we got everyone the right size suit based on measurements taken from other tailors. The process was admittedly complex, as some groomsmen ultimately required different sizes, longs, etc., but in the end, everyone got fitted with a suit that they were really happy with. Suitsupply even threw in a free shirt for each of us to boot. I can't quite fathom the number of hours of work on their end to make this work, but I sure do appreciate what they did. A huge thanks from a happy groom to Fran and the Suitsupply team. I recognize there's a lot of mixed reviews out there. I'll add my thoughts as someone who is a repeat customer. My experiences have generally been pretty great. Service: Yes, the sales consultants typically are working with 2-3 clients at a time. Don't come if you're in a hurry. It can be a busy place but they often will offer you a water, beer or coffee while you're waiting. Logan was patient amidst my indecisiveness and gave helpful recommendations. Sawyer helped expedite the tailoring of my most recent purchase. This was great as I had a meeting and wanted to grab these before I left town. Quality: I have been extremely satisfied with the quality of garments I've purchased from Suitsupply (suit, shirt, trousers). I love the suit! In addition to the stacked buttons on the surgeons cuffs, the jacket has 4 inside pockets which I really appreciate. The suit pants come with an after dinner split which is a great touch. I have to comment on their extra slim fit dress shirts (which I am so glad I've found). As an athletic built guy with a large neck it is difficult to find shirts to wear with a tie that I'm not swimming in. Suitsupply's extra slim fitting shirts are finally a solution for me to have an affordable shirt that fits well. I think Suitsupply is a good value for the quality of garments you're going to find. read more

After hearing great things about suitsupply, I walked in ready to spend 2k on a custom suit. The sale was theirs to lose. They still somehow managed to lose my sale when I was essentially ignored for most of the hour that I spent there. I told the guy who was supposed to help me (I forget his name, I'm not sure he ever introduced himself) that I was ready to buy a made-to-measure suit, but wanted his help and feedback with my choices. Trying to get anything helpful out of him was like extracting teeth. He would walk away with no explanation for like twenty minutes at a time and generally acted like he did not care what I ended up doing. I know they have good salespeople because the guy who walked in after me got a different sales guy (Jonathan?) and got the kind of help and service I was hoping to get as well. I'm not going to spend money at a place I don't feel good about, especially when it's a custom made suit. I ended up just walking out of the store, because the longer I stayed the more I was convinced that if they cared this little when the sale was actually being made, they'd care even less once I was out of sight. And I don't want to risk spending that much on a suit and end up disappointed. I'm still disappointed, but at least I'm not both disappointed and out 2k! read more

I came in a few weeks back to purchase a suit to be worn for upcoming business travel. I'll separate this review into two distinct and important categories: The Suit and The Service. The Suit: Solid at the price point. I'd give it a 4/5, overall. Decent construction, but not a fully canvased suit. Comfortable and travels well. After being exposed to the indignities of a west coast flight and being packed into a suitcase, the material held it's own and only needed minor steaming to return to form. I'd compare the suit to what you might find at Macy's or the higher end of Charles Tyrwhitt. Definitely above a Joey Banks or Men's Warehouse. The Service: YIKES. 1/5. First of all, I came to Suit Supply with the expectation that I could find a suit and have it altered while I wait or at least the same day. It says this service is available on their website. They said the earliest they could have my alterations done would be in 3 days. Kind of a bummer, but not a dealbreaker for me. Keep this in mind if you're in more dire straits, though. The initial service was alright, but my sales guy wandered away while I was in the fitting room. I had to track him down later to actually BUY the suit and get alteration measurements made. 3 days later, when I came to pick up and try on the suit, I could barely get anyone to help me. I had to bounce around to no less than 4 people: one to get me my suit, one to convince me that the length of the pants was good (he was wrong), one to begin unsealing the pockets and then walk away before he was done, and one to not finish unsealing the pockets and put the suit into the suit bag. To be fair the suit bag is kind of nice. Going back to the alterations for a moment, the pants were DEFINITELY too long. Not sure if this was a poor measurement or a poor tailor. I would have asked that they redo it, but since I had to wait the 3 days, I didn't have any more time. I had to go on the trip with a full-and-a-half break in the legs, and will need to pay another tailor to redo the hem on the pants legs. Overall, the suit itself is good, but the service leaves much to be desired. I'd happily spend my money somewhere that can at least pretend to be happy to see me. read more

I have been a customer of Suit Supply for the last few years in London but recently through work moved to Chicago. I was happy to find they have a Suit Supply but was wary if the suits were to the style and fit of London. I have to say my tailor Max was the best tailor I've ever had and instantly put me at ease and through his questioning he instantly knew what I was looking for and whilst providing a great professional service he served up suitable bit of banter. I only wanted one suit but ended buying two which were tailored and turned around in just a couple of days. A week later I was in to buy more items and recommend if you are going to visit the store you call ahead and ask when Max is available. Great job! read more

Man alive, these people are excruciating to deal with. No knock on suit supply - will continue to be a customer - but my goodness, this location is useless. I've had to deal with these folks twice, travelling well over 260 miles just to do so - once to buy a suit for a last-minute interview, the other to have a suit purchased online altered. IT IS LIKE PULLING TEETH GETTING THEM TO DO ANYTHING PROPERLY. When I walk in the store and tell you that I "need a Washington model in a 38R," you should be on notice that 1. I've thought this purchase through 2. I know what I'm doing and 3. You've got a good chance at moving some product. When I tell you I would like a 7 inch taper with a one-and-a-half-inch cuff on my pants, I don't need you to tell me 400x that you "recommend" that I don't do that. Despite having a background in law, it was absolutely excruciating to literally have to negotiate with the salesperson to taper my pants to a 7.25inch opening instead of my proposed 7 inch. I get where you're coming from, but at the end of the day, the shelf life of these suits isn't going to be 10-20 years even if cared for meticulously - let the kid little a little and go on with his badself with tapered pants on a $500 suit, would you?! The first time, you'd swear I was asking for nuclear launch codes to get them to hem my damn pants to the suit length the sales rep deemed appropriate for me (far too long by anyone's standards), and the second time, I had to tell my sales rep every detail at least five times, even suggesting he write some of the details down rather. That was the last straw. Honestly, you're much better off just buying online and taking your garments to a local tailor whom you have a good relationship with rather than trying to get anything through to these people. I still love suitsupply's suits, but this location...smh. read more

Went in around 6pm and was immediately welcomed by Achal before I stepped out of the elevator. He introduced himself and we began our quick tour and history of SS. Within less than 15 mins I was trying on suits and getting recommendations from Achal and other associates that were near. I never felt any condescending tones or anything like that considering how I looked walking into the place. The store was quite busy at the time, and the other associates working did a stellar job conversing with me until Achal returned from helping another customer. I'm reluctant to give this place a great review because I selfishly want to keep it a secret but I kind of have to give them some praise. Their selection of suits is amazing, really great quality and super affordable. Grab one off the rack and have it altered there or take it home same day and get it tailored by your own guy. The service is great, the salesmen are very intelligent and blunt which I absolutely love. They've got a great little balcony area where you can leave your wife/gf while you shop around and they can have a drink or two. They don't have a great selection of shoes, cuff links or pocket squares, but they have a pretty decent selection of shirts and ties as well. This is a review about the experience and service I received at Suitsupply, not about the quality and style of their suits. If this review was purely based on the suits they carry, I would give this review 5 stars, hands down. For the moderate price points offered at Suitsupply, it is nearly impossible to find the same level of quality fabric, construction, touches of bespoke influence, color options, and range of assortments offered. Also, for customers that have more of a athletic/slim build, Suitsupply probably has some of the best off-the-rack suits with silhouettes that flatter and mold to your body. If you want more details about Suitsupply's suits, please refer to the multitude of other positive reviews on this page. Having said that, I'm giving my experience at Suitsupply 2-stars because of the disastrous run-in and constant badgering of one of the managers while I was being fitted for my alterations. For those of you that don't know, Suitsupply actually offers quite the extensive list of alterations that can be done in-store at a fraction of the price comparative to your local tailor. The manager introduced himself and told me that once I got a suit tailored, I would be unable to return said item. Well obviously duh. He proceeds to inform me that once I commit to my alterations, I should not complain about any dissatisfaction I might have with the alterations. Thinking that one warning was not enough, he decided to promptly warn me a second time shortly after. Finally, once I have checked out and completed my order, the manager actually went so far as to stop me and tell me to cancel my alteration order because he was not comfortable with the amount of alterations I wanted, and to take the suit back home to find a local tailor to have it done. This is not my first rodeo in terms of having extensive alterations done to an off-the-rack suit (i.e. lengthening the sleeves, shortening the jacket, taking in the waist, and tapering the suit pants), so I know exactly how I want my alterations to be done. All the suits that I've had altered in the past have turned out perfectly to my specifications. The main message the manager sent me was not that he was concerned about my satisfaction, but rather that he did not trust his sales team and alterations crew to do their job correctly. Consequently, this gave me the impression and/or suspicion that their services are not quite up to par as promised. He was so scared that I might be dissatisfied that it superseded his priority of providing excellent service and it negatively impacted my shopping experience. The fact that he feared a complaint about his services actually garnered him this negative review. NOTE: This review is primarily my dissatisfaction towards the manager. The sales associate that helped me, Chris, was excellent in his work and knowledgeable of the suits that were carried. He did everything he could to help me find the right suit and provide me with the accurate alterations. If anything, the manager's input actually detracted from the excellent service Chris was providing me. read more

Solid product but the service leaves much to be desired. My first visit was during peak hours and they were slammed, so I tried to be considerate. I came in to buy a tux package (suit, shirt, shoes) and had to deal with 4 different people because reps kept disappearing to help other guests. At one point I left my dressing room to find a new rep and when I got back they had cleared my (already pinned) suit out of the dressing room, and we had to start over. They apologized but offered no discount or attempt to rectify the fact that it took 90 minutes to pin a suit. As I said though, it was peak time (Saturday midday) so I was understanding. However I had the same experience when I picked up my suit on a Tuesday morning. The rep who helped me on arrival disappeared and I had to track someone else down. Solid product, bad service. I'm a college student and I came to SuitSupply to buy my first suit. It was a solid choice considering the quality. However the customer service is beyond sub-par, I'd assume they figured because of my youthful appearance that I wasn't there to shop but even after spending $750 on the suit the sales people treated me with the least respect I've ever received while shopping. Even worse when I returned to have the hem let down because the pants were too short, a woman sales rep mocked me when telling the tailor what I wanted. I mentioned to her that it wasn't much of a break in the pants and she told the tailor and I quote "he said his pants aren't breaky enough." in a childish voice. I've received much better service at Barney's across the street and to be honest I'd rather spend double the money on nicer suits where the employees of the store remember that they are just that, employees. read more

A cool store with fashion forward styles doesn't make up for service that isn't accommodating. A sales person talked me into the shirts he had in stock rather than shirts that were the best fit me. He also told he was turning in his resignation later that day to work at the Ralph Lauren store on Michigan Ave and that I should come see him there. Later, I learned there is a Suit Supply shirt with a slightly more generous fit -- which would be ideal for me. When I contacted the store I was about 33 days outside the return period. They acted as thought they were doing me a huge favor by offering a moderate discount if I buy more shirts from them. So, although I read about them in Esquire or GQ (I forget which), I recommend only buying from Suit Supply if you are sure you won't change your mind later. My two ill fitting Suit Supply shirts will go up for sale on eBay. read more

I came in a month ago to start shopping for a suit. I came in today I need to buy a navy suit. I am thoroughly disgusted at the service I received. My sales associate, "Richard" (2955) seemed really annoyed at the questions I had about the suits mainly his opinion on which hue of navy and cut (Napoli vs sienna) looked best on me. He made me seem a nuisance to his business even though I tried conveying to him I will be purchasing a suit that day. When I picked the suit I wanted, he seemed annoyed again when I asked if he could take in the suit and any other remark I made about other alterations I asked him about. Being a college student, a suit is a huge investment that I could not causally purchase without getting the correct hue, cut, and alterations down. The only reason I walked out purchasing one because I needed to get suit for an upcoming interview. I did not even get offered a drink. I do want to commend "Austin" the new sales associate from LA who did his best to help me decide on a suit and seemed much more patient with my questions and concerns. I sincerely regret not making sure the first sales associate I spoke to a month ago (named Chris Amrehn) was in today to help me finish the transaction. He was extremely patient even though it was a more busy day and offered me a drink. I will contact him and hope to get in touch with a manager to redo the transaction so he can get the commission. If Suit Supply does not fire "Richard" (2955) of the Chicago store, who CAN NEVER work retail with that attitude, I will never consider stepping foot into a Suit Supply store for my next suit to not risk facing such rude service. He is ruining your brand as an "upscale" gentleman's store for suits. I will stick with Nordstrom who will always treat me with respect like a gentleman even if I was not even buying any suit. Even the people at Walmart have much better attitudes. read more

We went on two different occasions to find a suit for my fiance for our wedding and both times the sales people were unfriendly and not helpful AT ALL. I will never visit this brand ever again. Seeing reviews for this place makes me wonder who they choose to give the five-star service to and who they give the one-star service to. My fiance and I unfortunately received the latter. We had every intention of working with them to make a custom vest to go under his suit for our wedding in September, but we'll take our business elsewhere. I've visited the store three times in the last month and the service there is horrendous. The first time I gave them a pass - I was there alone, clearly a fish out of water - on a busy saturday. After standing around awkwardly without anyone even asking me if I needed help, I tracked someone down who essentially told me to come back a few weeks later when the fall collection is out as I may want to see that first (in retrospect, he was just getting me to leave). The second time, my fiance was with me and I called first to see if we needed an appointment (they said no). When we got there, we were helped after a short amount of time. But the salesperson left in the middle of it to help someone else. Keeping us waiting for about 15 minutes with no explanation. When he came back, the verdict was for us to come back AGAIN when Logan can help us - so we needed to make an appointment. The third and last time we visited was today - for our 2:30 appointment. We were greeted quickly, and told to wait a few minutes. After 35 minutes, with no help or explanation, we left. Agree with the other reviewers who felt like a "Pretty Woman" situation. The only negative reviews I have read are regarding service. Service at the Chicago location is the reason I was compelled to write a yelp review. This will only be the second time in my life that I felt I should take the time to give my opinion on a public forum. The Suits. I have only bought Zenga and Canali suits for past 10 years. This time around the finances did not makes since for me. I tried Norstroms, tried Brooks Brothers, but just hated what they offered. Found Suit Supply from websearch and was doubtful they had any great quality, but stopped in. I was wrong. They are great quality and more modern, then what department stores are selling. At this price point I can upgrade every 1-2 years and stay stylish versus stretching a Canali out for 5. I got their redline with super 130 and 150 wools. Who cares where they were stitched. Modern cuts sold by guys who get it. Not some 60 year-old at a department store. Service. It is a busy place, so I was waiting for someone to walk me through some options. Waiting was not ideal, but not horrible. When I returned to pick up my altered suit, one was not done correctly. They were nice and promised fast turn around. When I came back the 3rd time, it still was not altered to my liking. I should be pissed right? I was, but Nicholas the manager did not hesitate to apologize and own up to their error. Promised 24 hour turn around and had the finish suit Ubered to my location. We all make mistakes, but the manager simply owning up to their error and getting things quickly fixed is all you can ask for. Chicago location is great. Don't hesitate to go there. read more

Horrific service! 12 sales men and I use the term very loosely running around for 20 minutes before one just happened to walk by me and asked if I had been helped. At one point five of these guys where standing around drinking water in paper cups!!!? The one sales man who helped me wanted to put me in a suit one size too small!!?? I rolled into town on Sunday with one mission: get a suit that would land me the job I was interviewing for on Tuesday. When I entered SuitSupply, which was on the penthouse of a fairly non-descript building in the Gold Coast. When you walk in: you know that this isn't your Dad's Wearhouse. The experience was pretty unparalleled. A smiling woman behind the register greeted me and quickly introduced me to Anton. A few questions about purpose and a waist size measurement and Anton, picked a navy suit off the rack that fit almost perfectly. Kyle, the other associate who assisted my suit purchasing, voiced some concern about the tugging on the lapel and brought out an amazing medium gray two piece that fit perfect. It would need some tailoring to really bring out the great fit, which I did not have time for, but they assured me $30 would go a long ways towards making my starter suit look top dollar. The pants they selected initially were a little small in the seat, but with some consultation from Maria, the seamstress, we found a size that was not only a great fit now, but could be altered flexibly in the future. In this way, I may have dropped a small amount of coin for a suit (relatively), but I got a suit that can be worn formally to casually. There's no need to seek out a three suit deal when you can get a deal on one suit that will serve the purpose of three! We picked out a shirt and tie as Maria hemmed the pants. Even though Anton insisted I pick out my own tie, he was not afraid to lend criticism, which helped lead me to a gorgeous red tie with subtle hints of several reds and blues and a minimal, golden flower pattern that really made the suit look more on the sophisticated end--exactly what I was hoping to walk into an interview with. This is the first suit I have bought at a store like this, but I would recommend anyone at any level to check this place. They kept things simple for me, but there were moments where you could tell these salesmen knew suits and were not afraid to get technical about the styles and fabrics. I will definitely be getting my alterations done there and any future suit needs will be filled by SuitSupply. Go check it out! read more

Suitsupply... no Suitsupply If you are intent on buying custom suit or sport jacket, then continue to read this review, otherwise no need to read this review. Attempted to order/buy custom suit (black wool) and custom sports jacket (black linen) and could not get purchase completed. Had 3 PM appointment for Suit Up Program with Zack and spent about 40 minutes hanging around without being able to get measured or put in order. From what I can tell, this location ha good business and very happy customers buying stuff on the racks and those customers it appeared to be very well served. Zack and I spent a couple of minutes chatting and he disappeared for long strectches of time. At the 40+ minute mark, as I was getting ready, he asked me if was leaving due to poor cutomer service and told him yes. Not sure what was going on but ready to spend $2K+ on custom suit and sports jacket. If you want custom suit from this Suitsupply location, be prepared to wait (even if you have appointment) for service as it seems that serving customers buying stuff from the racks is the priority from a customer service perspective. Going to some other places next week to order custom suit and custom sports jacket. Will provide recommendation/findings in this post next week so stay tuned. read more

Save yourself the aggravation, the suits are nice but not worth the very poor customer service....across the board! Purchased a suit for $1000.00 and yes it was a great suit...but the service from Nick the manager when attempting to get it tailored was very poor, dismissive, and sloppy. The Sales Staff "pin" the suit. In other words mark it for the tailor... a word to the wise, the tailoring is only as good as the staff pinning the suit. I told Nick the sleeves were lopsided. After some discussion and me "showing" him his "pinning" was not accurate. He used a ruler to correct the lopsided sleeves. I requested other alteration. Nick didn't think it was "too bad" "so it should be OK"...for a $1000.00 suit I don't want OK. I expect him to be spot on. I sent a complaint to Suitsupply, received an automated email, and no follow-up. I called Customer Care, spoke with Tasha, she was responsive and receptive. Yet, I again did not receive a reply ....she failed to call back. I called her back on the customer care (misnomer), her response was "hold on"...silence and transferred to the Chicago store. I spoke with Zach, "tailor Specialist". His first words were we had 100 to 105 people in here I couldn't get back to you. What I heard: Suitsupply is busy enough if I lose 1 customer so what. Zach clarified his message a few minutes into our conversation by telling me, "and if we can't alter the suit to your satisfaction we can part ways amicably after all it is $1000.00 suit but not custom made." The suit jacket needed: sleeves shortened, and very small lift at the collar. The suit paints needed to be hemmed and taken in at the waist. Very common alterations for a suit. It appears Suitsupply, doesn't care about their managers attitude (see JunQi Z. dated 9/3/2013). I had a conversation with my husband who simply said not worth it. They got around to responding to you because you called customer care and then warned you they could refund our money. I am not running into the City in 45 minutes before they close to rush through what should have been done correctly the first time, Call them back and tell them to keep their suit. I called Zach and who was almost glad we did not come back. Zach asked was it the experience on Friday (fitting the suit)? I said no, you failed. You should have told be whatever your experience was before I promise you that is not my expectation of our customer service and I will do whatever it take to keep you as a Suitsupply customer. Not we can part amicably. Not his response. If I could give 1/2 a star I would. Save yourself the aggravation, the suits are nice but not worth the very poor customer service....across the board! read more

I worked with Sean to put together a beautiful tux for a gala. The tux is exactly what I wanted and Sean's tailoring suggestions were perfect. He was not pushy at all but made great suggestions to improve the look. Suits are affordable, good quality, fashionable. The one of the only suits that fits me the best right off the rack other than burberry. People there are awesome, Zach, Chris, Steven, Luke...I find myself going there just to hangout with the people. However, the only reason I give a 4-star rating is because the Manager Ben. Since I have no nice descriptive words for him, I will simply just tell the stories. No only has he ever provided any help for me, as a repetitive customer, there are times where he was being a straight up a-hole for no reason. I was asking for advice on a personal jack of mine. Because suitsupply doesn't take outside alterations, he was being overly sensitive about the topic and said to me "Rock, I am not gonna have this conversation with you again, we can not do it", when I simply was asking he if what I was asking is possible to be done. I was not happy at all! The philosophies, ideas, suits, and people keep me around, but with the terrible customer service from the manager, it hurts the brand, it hurts the business. I simply do not like him! This may seem personal, but the story that I told is what really happened, you can be the judge. With that being said, I'd still recommend the place, just don't deal with ben, everyone else is great. Enjoy! read more

Start-to-finish, this was a pretty bad experience for me. I chose SS based, in part, on their Yelp rating. After completing the experience, I find myself identifying with the 1-star reviewers. The rep was nice but, based on the number of times she had to consult with her peers, seemed to lack some core knowledge. No measurements were taken. She pinned one leg of my pants, eye balled the cuff length and marked the sleeve. I noted that the jacked seemed snug around the middle. She assured me that the alterations would add another 2 1/2 inches, which would have been more than enough. $1000+ purchase complete - including over $100 for alterations. The delivery date for my wedding suit came and went. Nobody called. After a week passed, I called the location to ask whether or not it was there. The rep said that someone must have forgotten to update the system. Within minutes of my call I received a text and email informing me that my suit was ready. It was immediately apparent that the tailoring was pretty poor. My pants were cut to the right length and break, but they were oddly baggy through the thighs and rear. The jacket was rough as well. The cuff length didn't appear to have been touched. Both shoulders showed severe puckering where the sleeves were attached. More egregiously, my concerns about the fit around the middle did not appear to have been addressed. I can close the jacket, but the fabric pulls visibly. It simply isn't a good fit. My concerns about the overall fit and finish were largely dismissed by the rep. She actually uttered the words "It doesn't look that bad." It made me wonder how the company would like that tagline (SuitSupply: Our $1000 suits don't look that bad). I was then informed that in order to achieve a proper fit, they would have to alter the jacket in such a way that would ruin its lines. Flustered...I took my suit and left. Apparently I will just have to suck in my gut when I'm standing up for the wedding ceremony. read more

Great customer service. All of their suit specialists are all spectacular--even the door guy is great! I shop exclusively at suit supply (10+ times) and have never had a bad experience--Phillip, Chris, Zach, and Nick are all top-notch. read more
