You can just show up here and say "I want 50 samosas" and they don't even bat an eye. Samosas come in 1 flavor (vegetable: potato, pea and spices) and 3 sizes. Medium samosas are 50 cents a piece and the larges are 75 cents a piece. They have the sauces, tamarind and mint chutney in the back refrigerators. They have Indian sweets too but I don't know the names of anything. The carrot thing is delicious, but the mango ones are really gross. How's that for an apt description of what to get?? I was back in the US within an hour, 50 -- er, I mean 47 samosas heavier. Make sure to save your receipt for the samosa. Don't worry, the white bread border guards are not interested in taking these delicious curry bombs.

While the variety is appreciated, over half the items I picked up were past the expiration date (or nearing). Not sure if they purposely purchase these expired items for cheaper, or if they just stock too much and are unable to sell everything and don't clear the expired items off the shelves. Regardless, you definitely need to check the expiration date on everything before purchasing. Not worth the drive across the border to come here alone but if I'm already in Windsor for food, I may stop by to browse and purchase some snacks.

On Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 pm, we were welcomed into an empty restaurant by one of the owners. We ordered beef with broccoli (which was lightly sauced stir-fried beef on a bed of steamed broccoli) and chicken with snow peas in a taro nest (typically seen at banquets). The vegetables were freshly cooked, and in the larger portion quantity relative to meat that Chinese prefer. Both the owner, and the waitress who subsequently came on shift, were friendly and helpful. If I had known the portions were going to be so large, wet might have only ordered one dish. The leftovers were packed up for us to take home. We were also shown the lunch special menu, but decided to order a la carte to get more vegetables. The centre of the restaurant has a skylight that adds to the atmosphere during daylight hours. The big screen televisions on the wall were turned off when we were there. The owner said that prior to 9/11, thru used to get more American visitors, and business would peak between 9 pm and 1am. Now, the business is primarily repeat customers locally, who eat dinner at earlier times.

Meat Counter: Waited patiently to be served, but the staff member skipped me twice to take orders from customers who arrived after me. Only acknowledged when I spoke up. 2. Cashier: Rude and dismissive. When I requested a double-bagged watermelon, she tossed the second bag at me. When I politely asked if she could open it (as my hands were full), her response was "you've got two hands." Unacceptable. 3. Management: Requested a manager due to the cashier's behavior. The cashier initially just pointed vaguely "back there" and refused to assist further. Only when I held my ground and the line backed up did she claim to check, returning to say no manager or supervisor was available. This indicates a systemic lack of accountability. Overall: Rude staff, ignored customers, and zero management presence or willingness to address serious issues.
