There is nothing fancy about Brookwood. This is just a really great farm along a quiet country road that has belonged to the same family for over a century. Come here if you are looking for a peaceful day spent picking fruit or for a short stop to buy delicious donuts, apples, and cider. An oversized Homer Simpson doll welcomes you as you enter the store. A very kind young woman was working there the day I visited and she told me that the orchards were opened. Other than the orchards there is only the small store. Again, nothing fancy, but what matters is the quality of the products which I thought was excellent. There isn't hot apple cider but there is cold apple cider in the fridge and a slushie machine where you can fill your own slushie cup for $2. The cup provided was twice as large as the slushie I bought at Franklin Cider Mill for a whopping $4. I could tell that there are no preservatives added to Brookwood's cider. The cider was excellent and perhaps some of the best I have tasted, and I've been to a lot of cider mills this season. I will definitely return to Brookwood and continue to support this family business.

They also have tons of Asian greens and veg, interesting fruits like whole jackfruit, and great snack/bulk items like dried papaya and nut mixes. There are always tons of workers, so lines are very fast. They also have plants and flowers outside in the summer - such a great market.

You will find your typically fruits and vegetables but they often have a tons of items that you may not be able to get from a Kroger like longans, lychee nut, rambutan, guanabana soursop, and more! My only concern is that it can be hard to maneuver through the aisles when it is very crowded, plus you have staff working as well so things can get pretty tight but it's well worth it for all that savings and great finds you get. I'm always shocked by how little my cost is when I leave the register. The environment may not be for everyone but I think it's 100% worth checking out at least once if you're in the area.

But for those who live in Bricktown or Greektown or perhaps you're staying at one of the nearby hotels, it's got what you need. Everything from snacks and drinks to laundry detergent and fresh meats. There's barely enough room for two people to pass down an aisle so be prepared. But for us, looking for beers and some spirits to enjoy back at the hotel? Just what we needed.
