Best place for any alterations especially weddings! I was stressed because my dress was not fitting, it's always easier to get a dress smaller than expanding it. Sukie didn't give up on finding a way to make my dress fit me. She figured out how to make it work and had this crazy idea. Then I came back in to try it on and I couldn't even tell she did any work on it because it looks perfect! I tried the dress on and it fit just right! The relief I had was indescribable, I can't thank her enough for the work she did. She was very positive the whole time and so friendly as was the guy that works at the desk! I've been taking my clothes to Sukie's for a couple of years for alterations. I'm short and very curvy with a small waist. It's very hard for me to find pants that I don't have to make alternative to. I love that Sukie's have me to try on every garment to get the exact measurements. I've never had a problem with anything they've done for me. Customer Service is also excellent and I love their new location. That being said, these services are not cheap (that's the only reason I gave them 4 stars). Every couple of months I get a text with 25% off , wish they would send these out more frequently or do something for their regular/frequent customers read more

Sukie did alterations for basically every person in my wedding including my parents. She always pressed my dress beautifully. She is always so accommodating with what you want, your timeframe and everything in between. I feel like the last two weeks before my wedding I was rushing into her every day and she always said yes and did everything fast! I bought my wedding dress in Tempe but I live right near Sukie's, I see it all the time. I figured it is worth a shot seeing as it's so close to my home. I made an appointment and when I arrived I was greeted kindly by my name and I was assisted right away. I went over the alterations needed and am set to pick up my dress next month. It was a little pricier than I expected, but I guess I wasn't sure what to expect. I'll update my review when I pick it up to let you know if I got my money's worth. I've picked up my dress and it is great! I again was greeted promptly and taken back right away to try it on and make sure everything fit well. It did! I came to this shop because it was recommended by a friend who said they were friendly and well priced. My experience was the complete opposite. I went in to talk about alterations on my dress; I had bought it off the rack and it needed to be taken down a couple sizes. The woman (Suki maybe? She never introduced herself and never asked my name.) seemed too busy and uninterested in talking to me, even though they had no one else in the shop and they were expecting me due to my appointment. She finally stepped away and hurried me into a dressing room, yanked the zipper down on my dress bag, looked at it for 30 seconds, and quoted me $750 for the job! The woman was rude towards me questioning why I bought it, where it came from, and how much I paid for it. It was embarrassing. She didn't even have me try it on and pin it to get a closer look. She clearly didn't want to do the work because she gave me that outrageous quote and I believe she was mad that I hadn't bought a dress from her shop. When you advertise for alterations, you should expect that people will come to you needing alterations on pre-purchased items. There was a man working there with her as well who was nice and courteous the whole time. He came and offered to carry my dress to a hanger nearby then answered my questions about the tuxedo rentals that they offer. I walked back out to my car feeling terrible and wishing I had never even bought my dress to begin with. I was in tears worrying that I would have to pay nearly $800 to alter a dress that cost just over $800 alone. Because of the way the woman handled everything I will never go back to that shop and if anyone asks my recommendation, I will tell them to steer clear of Suki's too. Weddings are a very special and emotional time for couples while they are prepping and planning. Being in the wedding business, they should know that and treat customers accordingly; not make them feel like an inconvenience. The good news is later that week I found a very kind and professional woman at a different business who did a great job on my dress for half the cost of this quote. read more

My mom found this place and had me check it out while visiting AZ. My wedding was coming up, in AZ and the dress shopping had just begun! I had already chosen a dress in the Midwest where I'm from but once stepping into Sukie's shop and trying on her dresses, I changed my mind about my original choice! For the price of one, I ended up getting two dresses! One for the ceremony and one for the reception! Sukie was so sweet and really catered to my requests of how I would like the dresses to look. I bought the dresses in December 2016 and experienced only A little hiccup 10 months later with my ceremony dress not fitting particularly in the thigh area, (my fault) and Sukie did the extra alterations in less than 1 day and the second dress fitting just 4 days before the wedding. I felt flawless and absolutely stunning with her work! Big thank you to Sukie and her team! Sukie!!!!! She is a star! She is also a life saver. I want to start by saying ... Why Can't I put a picture!!! You could see how she changed my life and made my wedding day spectacular! Sukie altered my wedding dress, gave me the most EASY BUSTLE to ever even exist and It matched my gown perfectly! She had altered a formal gown for me last year and I knew she was to GO TO LADY for ALTERNATIONS! SHE IS AMAZING!!! For my wedding ALL my bridesmaids were either out of town or INTERNATIONAL and they could only arrive the week before the wedding two within days of the event happening. We had ordered some custom dresses online that looked like everything we wanted but they didn't arrive that way. They were all to long needing hemming on a shorty train style dress for my bridesmaids. several dresses were way to closely sewn needing the side seems let out and one girl could hardly put her arms in the sleeves ... they were way to tight and Sukie had to open it up in the sleeve and add a piece where it couldn't be seen. My dresses were ordered from an online store and all five zippers were faulty and cheap, they popped when you tried the dress on. Sukie replaced all the zippers in our dresses and even steamed they so they were ready to wear! We were at her shop almost everyday, the week of the wedding. SHE EVEN LET US COME IN A HOUR BEFORE SHE OPENED UP to size a bridesmaid for us. We picked up our bridesmaid dresses the day before the wedding... all sized right. and prefect to wear for all FIVE of my bridesmaids. I wish you could see the dresses and how they fit. It was BEAUTIFUL!!! Professionalism and peace of mind can not have a price for a day as important as a wedding. Sukie is the best. I have used her several times. Give her a try. This place is absolutely disgusting my 18 year old daughter went in looking for a prom dress. She approached a sales associates to try on a dress that was on a mannequin, and was told by the sales associate she was to big for the dress and wasn't going to waste her time removing it. I did my homework before choosing where to take my dress since my dress has very fine delicate lace. I chose Sukie's Bridal because I was pleased with all their reviews and they're located in the west side ( most known seamstress are in the east side very far for me). Since the moment I walked in her husband Dan was very welcoming, helpful, very kind. Sukie was so friendly and fun to talk too. She immediately knew what work my wedding dress needed and gave me some pointers and was also very kind when I had questions or made suggestions. She told me she has been in the business for 20 years if i remember correct. I must admit when I was walking into the store I was a little nervous to leave my dress behind but after my appointment the way they run their business made me feel a lot more comfortable with my choice. I also liked that they make emergency alterations on day of event hence another reason why I chose them . Gives me a sense of security. All I did was get a patch sewn on a hat. Dropped it off late Thursday, she says $10.00 and come back Monday. I thought the price was a bit steep and the wait a little long, but I was in no hurry for it so that was no big deal. In spite of those things I give her four stars because the work was excellent. Great options! Smaller boutique but we had the whole place to ourselves during the appointment! We were a little early and ran a little late but never felt rushed! You pick out the ones you like and then the owner helped me into each dress. She was so sweet let me try a dress on again after she placed it back on the manakin. Even had shoes to show me what height I could get for my own shoes and of course veil and headpiece options. Some dresses are off the rack only and I ended up getting one and needing only minor alterations. She gave them to me for free. Definitely made my experience more wonderful than I had anticipated. I cannot rave enough about Ms.Sukie and her expertise in alterations. Because I am very tall, I ordered a dress online. I gave my exact measurements but when I received it, the dress was way too tight. I took it to Ms. Sukie and she was so gracious and helpful. She assured me that it can be fixed. With only ten days until my wedding, she completely created a new dress, salvaging what she could from the original dress. It was gorgeous and fit me like a glove. The customer service I received from Ms. Sukie and her assistant, Ann was wonderful. I am so grateful that I found Ms. Sukie's dress shop. I highly recommend her. I am not one to write a review, especially a negative one, but Sukie's deserves this one. I should have learned the first time I came in years ago to look at wedding dresses when she said she wouldn't help me with looking for a dress because my wedding, which was a year away at the time, was "too far ahead" so I shouldn't even have been looking for dresses, therefor, no help. Now here I am almost 4 years later, and 3 months until my wedding. I took my dress to Sukie's hoping for alterations. I had alterations done already by a gal that worked at David's bridal and I wanted a few things fixed that she did... She opened the dress bag, took a few looks and said it was too much of a headache and she wouldn't touch it because the other gal chopped it. She told me buy a new dress or wear this one as is! THREE MONTHS BEFORE MY WEDDING! This was a $1300 dress she told me was destroyed! Anyone bride I am sure can only imagine what I was feeling at this time, I was mad and upset and so frustrated because a second dress was not exactly in the wedding budget! I sent a photo of the dress to one of my bridesmaids who sent it to a gal she knows does wedding alterations. She told me take it elsewhere because she believed it was salvageable and I should get a second opinion. Luckily I found Molinas Bridal! I brought my dress in the next day and explained everything to them. They had me put my dress on (which sukies did not do) and asked what I wanted done, she told me no problem! I was so relieved! I told them what happened at Sukie's and they were just shocked someone would turn away business like that. Molinas was able to not only fix my dress but for only $60 & It looks more amazing than the day I bought it! Sukies hit their 2 strikes with me, now I will always refer people to Molinas, in fact we are even ordering the men's vests from there because I was so pleased with their service! read more

After having a hard time with David's Bridal and a moved up wedding date, I was panicking about getting my dress altered on time. I emailed Dan and Sukie to set up an appointment for an alteration just a week and a half before my big day. Dan responded to my email almost immediately even though it was after business hours and almost 9 PM reassuring me that they would work their magic and I had no reason to stress. Well let me tell you, I went in the next day super relieved and Dan and Sukie were beyond amazing. My dress was ready just a week later including taking the busy in, raising the hem, and adding a bustle! I am beyond impressed with their dedication and kindness. Anyone who can calm a stressed bride out is a miracle worker. When I picked up my dress it was perfect! My wedding is tomorrow and I'm so excited to have found this place and I know that my dress will fit like a glove. Will definitely be taking any future alterations here. read more

I took some suits in to get alterations done today. I (due to my own lack of knowing store hours) showed up about 30 minutes before they were scheduled to open. The store owner saw me walking away after I saw the posted hours. She cheerfully opened the door and waved me back towards the store. I came here a few years ago to look at prom dresses. I was unsure of my size, and ended up paying 10 bucks for her to measure me.....Looking back I could have done that by myself! It took less than 3 minutes to measure me. Fast forward to today, I purchased a wedding gown online and it is a size too big. My future mother in law really likes Sukie, so I thought I would give it another go. The website has no prices for alterations (where as other reputable places have a base price sheet with a * next to each because I understand every gown might need more or less and will be adjusted accordingly). So I called, and asked if there were any base prices. I was told no. I find that extremely hard to believe considering you have to start SOMEWHERE! All I need is the sides taken in a bit, because it is ONE size too big. I was told I would have to make an appointment and come in and try my gown on and then get a quote. No thanks. Extremely disappointed that I can't get my gown altered close to home. read more

I gave Sukies one star at best, I wish I would of taken the time to read reviews online! I would of not taken my business or trusted this shop with my dress! The owner Sukie sold her work as "excellent" and said alterations and pressing of a wedding gown (bought at another place thank God) would be perfect! The prices are outrageous but I figured she knew what she was doing and would deliver on her promise! I called Sukie a day before and asked if the wedding dress and Alterations to a bridesmaid dress would be ready and she promise the would! When I went to pickup the dress the next day the wedding gown was not ready! The excuse I got was that the dress was very big and that they were extremely busy! The alterations on the bridesmaids dress were atrocious! They used black thread on a champagne color dress!!! No customer service skills! No apology, no acknowledgement of her failure to deliver on agreement! I would not recommend this place to anyone!!!!!! This shop needs to hire a real seamstress and the owner needs to get customer service skills!!!!she doesn't deserve anyone's business!!!! read more
