I have been wanting to try this spot for a while so I'm glad we took a walk over from the gallery. The inside is pretty tight quarters, but for me that adds to the experience. Food and service were amazing! I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen (my all-time fave) with medium spice & a Sapporo beer. The broth was perfect, the Chashu pork was tender and they give you the perfect amount of noodles with the option to add more, of course. The broth cleared out any congestion i had leftover from our cold front! Definitely going spicier next time I dine in. TOTAL : for my ramen & beer it was about $35 - they give the XL size for beer btw

Delicious ramen that tastes authentic and homemade!…read more It's a small shop that's easy to walk past and miss. Once you enter, you order from the tablet screens on the wall. About 9 stools where you watch the chef prepare your ramen and eat at a counter. No fuss interior and service. If you prefer a quiet meal, this place is ideal. We ordered: - Oxtail Ramen which was very unique and tasty (we picked medium seasoning). Added bokchoy. Will order again. - Tonkotsu Ramen with added enoki. Not as creamy as I'm use to but you can tell all the ingredients are very fresh. For such a rich dish, I didn't feel heavy later on that night. We usually order extra ramen but didn't have to. The proportions were spot on and enough for a hearty meal. Total tab was around $65 after tip and tax. We came in around 7pm - no wait - and within 30 mins the whole place filled up.

Realized I hadn't given Coco Sushi Lounge & Bar a proper shout-out yet, so here we go…read more I've stopped in a few times over the last couple of years for casual bites and drinks, and it's consistently been a good go-to. The space itself is really nice--spacious, high ceilings, lots of natural light, and (important to me) plenty of bar seating. The staff has always been friendly and attentive, though yes... I tend to make friends with staff at places I frequent. It just happens. Location-wise, it's just around the corner from E Atlantic Ave, which makes it easy to get to without being overrun by the tourist crowds that stick strictly to the Ave. This most recent visit was just for drinks and, surprisingly, dessert (rare sweet tooth moment). I asked what they had and immediately went with the mochi ice cream--no regrets. Four flavors that tasted like green tea, vanilla, strawberry, and mango, all drizzled with rich chocolate and topped with whipped cream. Definitely hit the spot. So yeah--recommend.

You'll have no problem finding parking as it has street parking all around and a garage that's $1.50 an hour (could be worse). The restaurant was clean and has a nice, calm vibe to it. The happy hour menu has a good selection of drinks and food. I like that it's offered everyday and at convenient times. We ordered: 1) Red Dragon and Triole Sexy ($13 per roll)- we liked it! Good presentation, simple, did not fall apart, tastes good. Price and portion was a plus 2) Salmon Carpaccio ($12)- comes with 5 pieces, topped with fried garlic and yuzu/truffle oil. I barely tasted truffle and I would think it would have came with more pieces, at least 6-8. Overall, tasted good 3) Beef short rib skewer ($9)- comes with 2 skewers of bite size pieces was underwhelming, a bit pricey. It was dry and def needed some oil and salt to make it juicy and some flavor Service was great! Sushi chefs did a great job with the rolls and apps. Do recommend for happy hour!

The blossom roll was excellent, just beware the jalapeño. The oyakodon was mediocre - it was bland. The sushi platter included items you can't get on the regular menu. It was good and reasonable. The pork belly in the bao bun was very well made. The bao bun would have been better with more vegetables/pickled slaw. The salmon skin handroll was loaded with crispy skin. Inside the restaurant was a little too cool and noisy. We sat outside, which was comfortable. The Marketplace has less flies than they used to. Also, our server put a fan on our table that kept them away.

Very broad menu including ramen, sushi, tapas and many more Japanese specialties. I started with a Special Nigiri Hamachi, lime soy gel, serrano and micro cilantro. Very nice presentation but I thought it was pricey $9 for 1 piece but very good . For a main, I tried the Ramen Tonkotsu, pork broth, chashu pork belly, soft boiled egg, scallions, bamboo shoots, kikurage mushroom and nori. It was just ok. My had Wonton Soup with napa cabbage, asparagus, scallions and toasted garlic for a starter. Next, she ordered the Jb Roll, salmon, cream cheese, scallions i/o sesame seeds. Both were good. Unfortunately there are better Asian/Sushi restaurants in the area.
