The atmosphere of this wine shop is completely retro and fun. Great old records for sale, vintage clothes rack out back for some thrift shopping, fun and fresh bottles of wine to take home. We sat right at the bar next to the records were playing and the owner switched records frequently and always had something fun playing. The wine here was so much fun - as someone who works in wine sales it's always refreshing to see a bar changing what wines they serve and have something new open every day. They don't have a set wine list, i believe they just choose what they want when they want and display what they are serving by the glass on a shelf behind the bar. I love that idea so you can go often and always be able to try something new. I would have had some snacks along with my wine if we had not just come from lunch but i will definitely be back since this menu always changes with what is fresh. A great spot in this area and i'm excited to go back already.

This was our second dinner with the duo and both experiences were perfect. The winery closed just before the event started so we had run of the farmhouse. I love the gift shop and heading out to the deck that overlooks the vineyard with my first wine of the evening. Last night's dinner was held at the long bar in the farmhouse. Here the chefs prepared everything right in front of us. The super authentic, approachable chefs answered all our questions about the menu, local ingredients and process. Each dish was layered with flavors and textures. Every dish was regular sized, no mini tastes here, no leaving hungry. Wine served complimented each course and Bettina (Cellardoor owner) pulled a couple of extra pours of different wines just for more comparisons. Very fun! These are small, intimate dining experiences that we don't often get to experience. I saw this dinner on their website and said "why not?" Now I am going back to sign up for more!

She informed us that the soup of the day was clam chowda to which both of us wanted right away. The chowda was flavorful and had a good amount of clams (many other restaurants choose to load it with potatoes, but not this one!). The soup does lean more brothy versus gravy-like which is a personal preference but taste wise it was still soothing. The menu had a lot of really great seafood options so I decided to try their Maine mussels. Our waitress said that the broth was really wonderful and would pair nicely with garlic bread which I also ordered. The entrees came out pretty quickly and the serving size of my mussels was double what I thought it would be. The mussels looked massive and the meat was as fresh mussels should taste. It was an excellent dish. The garlic bread would be a great vessel to soak up the mussel broth, but I felt that the bread was a little thin and slightly over-toasted to really soak up the broth.
