Deeply unreliable service. Continual service outages. When they happen Summit just "disconnects" all of their phone numbers, customer service and even sales numbers. Of course there is also no way to chat with reps/automated service/anyone at Summit. And no email option of any kind. They don't provide any sort of text/email updates on progress of resolving outages or technical issues. The Conor complex I live in includes Summit in the monthly association fees so either I live with this poor service, or pay for it twice, once thought the monthly condo fee and again with another provider I contract on my own. read more

customer service is absurd. A line was cut at our condo as the unit below was being remodeled. it was called in by the contractor as well as the building manager. It was called in again by my tenant. the company would not even begin to provide assistance until each individual condo owner called to say their service was interrupted. many of the condos are not occupied all of the time, so the time it took to get every person to call in before they would come out was uncalled for. to add to that, they would not even speak to me, the owner with the passcode because they had the ownership down wrong in their system after I had already provided them the warranty deed and all information they needed. these people are so bureaucratic it's not ok. read more

The techs in Pelican Bay . . Naples, FL are excellent!! It's what you have to go thru to get one to come to your house! First, after calling the phone techs in Orlando,I had to go thru the usual unplug this and that. (Of course I had done all of that before the call . . . They've been to my house 5 times in a year!). I told the tech my TEVO box was blinking, which probably means it's dead, She proceeded for 30 minutes rebooting . . . Calling me back etc. when the Pelican Bay tech finally came, he immediately knew I had a dead box because of the blinking! Hey Summit Broadband . . . The will turn off your internet service and charge a reconnection fee with no notice. In the past month my apartment complex has been without Internet for almost 2 weeks total for various issues and outages. BEWARE apartment complexes who are contracted to only use them. You will end up stuck over paying for a service you cannot count on and unable to change providers. They have made working from home in a pandemic an absolute nightmare. Would still give 0 stars. This company was chosen to cut the cord from Comcast cable at our condominium. To date we're still not hooked up, and they are completely overwhelmed by installation issues. They ran glass fiber, and now they must connect that glass fiber in each condo. When you call to have that appointment made for installation they spend 95% of the time trying to upsell you and get you to buy their set top box. In addition, its app TV channels does not include local stations, which is absurd. I can no longer get local Sarasota news and weather. Instead we have Tampa news and weather, which is completely irrelevant. Sarasota weather is often very different from Tampa. Also, its app does NOT work on Samsung or LG smart TVs, which is the predominant TV in the market place. Thus, many people had to buy a device to install its app as they aren't compatible with most smart TV's, which explains why they push the Roku. But worse, they are not very customer friendly. Their presentations and instructions do not take into account the technical abilities of the users in this building. As a result, there are several people in our building making 40 bucks a pop to help people install a Roku or Firestick. They never even mention Apple TV is an option or any other services as an option. They push the Roku and try to upsell people to their settop box. I would not recommend this company to anyone, whether technically savvy or not. read more

Worst cable company ever! Canceled them today. Service is glitchy, there's absolutely no customer service. One of the worst companies I have had to deal with. There's a reason there are so many bad reviews.... Update: I have been done with this company since July. I overpaid and have yet to see my refund but I received a statement TODAY that I have one coming. Keep in mind I have already contacted them twice and with my new address. The statement I received today was originally sent to an address I had a few years ago. I find this odd as they knew my address when they were sending bills... first, they told us that everything would be neatly housed in the white box that they hung on my wall. Then they Velcro on it and zip tied it to the wall. What a mess. What a mess. They told me my appointment time was from 2 to 4 PM. At 10 AM I was notified if I did not come home immediately for them to install it that I would have to reschedule as they were ahead of schedule. I came home they installed it and they advise me that they would have to do another appointment because they weren't ready to take it live. A few minutes later, they advised me that they would be back within an hour to make me live. At 5:30. Same afternoon after missing eight hours of pay advised me that they would have to reschedule because they did not have it connected to the building properly. I received a call over the weekend that I missed my appointment to have it installed without any notice and that I would have to wait until after Christmas . They've cost me over $700 and pay it over $150 in cable for the month. We are an HOA. We are at their mercy. read more

I've had summit broad band for almost a year now, I can't not tell you how much I HATE this isp if it wasn't for the fact they are the only ISP allowed in my building which is ONLY reason they have my business. It's constant outages constantly unplugging and plugging back in the router service technicians that only run speeds test on their computer for the five seconds the internet is working. Then hour long hold times to reach any type of rep to answer the phone. Super quick to take your money but impossible for anyone to get your internet actually working. Summit has a monopoly in our community. We must pay for their cable service and we have no options. Most days between 5 and 8 pm, the tv service is to the point of being unwatchable. Their IPTV service lags, or cuts out or never comes on. I speak with my neighbors and we are experiencing the same problem. Our Annual General meeting is approaching soon and I will encourage all homeowners to vote to stop paying their cable bill. Maybe Summit will then finally understand our frustration. read more

Here is an update. Honestly, I thought they could not get any worse and wow was I wrong. I had my husband schedule an appointment because our internet was not working and when the technician came, he claimed it was our router and our fault. We bought a brand new router and guess what? I know. You already guessed it. The internet is still not working. Now they want me to travel an hour away to drop off their modem and if I don't they have to schedule me an appointment for someone to pick it up but I will keep being charged until they come and get the modem. Summit kept ignoring us initially then after many more residents also had service interruptions -- then Summit began to send out information on "rebooting the modem"; This went on for 7 days! 7 Days!! 7 Days!! If I could give this terrible company a negative 100 I would. Constant outages, complete lack of communication with consumers, plenty of broken promises. Last week we had a neighborhood wide outage because they didn't properly QA an upgrade before deploying it, then once it was deployed realized it wouldn't work, and they hadn't had the common sense to think about a back out plan before deploying it. I lost a days worth of work because they didn't have the competence to plan for a deployment like that on a Saturday night when it would have the least consumer impact. They have consistently over promised and under delivered, their reps are rude, and they are absolutely one of the most incompetent organizations I've ever encountered. Run, run fast. Stay away. Switched from Comcast 2 years ago as part of our Sub's new contract. The good is that the internet speed is much faster. The bad are many though. TV has always stuttered (stopped or pixilated). Internet is down much more frequently than Comcast. Power outages usually require a call to Summit rather than auto resetting. The TV features (remote, actions) are antiquated compared to what we had with Comcast 2 years ago. For example, Comcast had voice control. They had multiple last channel options. Little features that we liked. I understand Summit was bought out and I actually listened to the new exec's youtube video promising better service and performance. Have not experienced any changes. But I will say with much experience (due to frequent calls and visits) the employees are excellent. Always polite, willing, and helpful. They just seem to be part of a system that is old. Updated 9/6/2020 TV is continuously stuttering. Very frustrating. I am calling tech support now. It's almost funny, buy their stand-bi music is stuttering also. Tech (Jack) was very nice but acknowledged that there is a systemic issue affecting houses in our are (he said others are calling with the same issue). Ignore these paid reviews. This is an absolute CON company. Constant packet loss (data is lost and thus restarts transmission), chronic high latency (slow speeds) and of best of all, HORRIBLE CONSISTENCY. As a student, I spend much of my time on the internet. However, this service denies that necessity. The internet service the provide is so volatile that if you so much as BREATHE on the bandwidth, it--for lack of better phrasing--turns to crap. I'll sum up the problems: *High latency which makes for poor speeds *Packet loss which desecrates gaming *Randomly shuts OFF or becomes unusable *Help service will deny your calls *Offer 10 mbps download (8 mb = 1 MegaByte), but you'll never have more than 5 *Upgraded plan offers 50 mbps download, but it's a miracle from God Almighty if you have greater than 30 mbps at any given time, AND this is still compounded by the aforementioned instabilities Don't fall into their trap--you'll have to buy out the contract! Summit broadband has been a disaster for me and my wife. We live in a condo community called on top of the world. They recently switched from spectrum to summit for TV and internet. We have in and out of internet service for about 10 days and 5 days ago lost all internet service. I had 2 different techs do a remote scan and neither could fix the problem. The second tech set up an appointment for February 8th. That's 10 days from when I spoke with him. So we may be out of all TV and internet for 2 weeks. They had in installer come by today to install equipment for the condo right next to me and they refused to come in to my place to just look at the connections for the modem and router. This is the worst!!! I have been trying for 2 days to talk to tech support because we have no internet. You dial the number and it says your wait time is 2 plus hours. It gives you the opportunity to leave a number and supposedly they will call you back when it is your turn. Only problem, they never call you back. I have called several times. Right now I am holding and the wait time is 3 hours 30 minutes but after holding an hour it is 3 hours 25 minutes. I have chatted but this person doesn't know anything and I have emailed. I'm very unsatisfied, frustrated and unhappy with Summit services. I work and run my business from home, and I'm without all services (internet/cable) since last Monday 9th, and I have not received any ETA to have it addressed. I've been using roaming hotspot for a week now, and I'm sure you can all imagine how much it is costing me. I've been calling support everyday, many times a day, but nothing. In summary, it was an upgrade to fiber that Summit suggested, but removed all my previous services and devices without checking if the fiber connection was okay. We switched to Summit Broadband as part of Miromar Lakes Association. It has been one problem after another. Internet is good. TV is terrible. Rewind TV works sometimes. DVR works sometimes but almost never can we watch a full show without it freezing and having to restart or sometimes we never can retrieve our recorded shows. We are paying extra to switch back to Comcast. No apology or refund from Summit. I would strongly discourage using this company. Been very frustrating and wasted a lot of time on hold. I will not miss the spinning circle between channels changes or as I try to retrieve shows. read more

The service is horrible. I wish I could give them zero stars. I live in an apartment complex that negotiated a bulk plan for residents. When I moved in, I called to schedule the installation of the bulk plan. Without my knowledge, they installed more than what is built into my rent and I received a $100+ bill to pay (on top of paying what's already in my rent). It's a nightmare trying to get them to call me back about how to remedy this situation of being given and billed for something I never asked for. My leasing office said other residents have had this problem. On top of that, their internet is very spotty and doesn't consistently work during 'peak hours' (evenings and weekends). The only way Summit seems to get customers is by forcing themselves on to customers is by purchasing exclusivity cable rights of neighborhoods. Their is service is horrible. DVR playback is intermittent, cutting in and out. Their service stops and starts intermittent. Their customer service has no empathy for customers are paying for service they are not getting. They expect customers to live up to the their obligations and pay their bills. I pay for daily cable service but don't always get to enjoy my cable because they are down. This is the worst ISP you can imagine. Constant service interruptions that go on for hours or even days. They provide no information during outages and they don't have web updates during an outage - you have to call them to get info. Imagine that - an ISP that relies on phone rather than the internet for communicating outage information. It's like the old companies that thought the internet was just a fad. They seem to survive on being a cheap alternative for HOAs but this is truly a case of "you get what you pay for". If your community is even considering Summit, fight against it as hard as you can. AOL dialup in 1997 may have been more reliable than Summit. read more
