We are beyond blessed to be part of the Summit Christian Academy family! I am "that mom" who started agonizing over what school to send my baby to before she was even born. I wanted her to have a safe, humble, and wholesome education at a school with nurturing staff who would support us as parents in our mission to keep our baby girl a happy kid for as long as possible. We considered just about every school option in our area (and even some outside our area), and Summit Christian Academy clearly stood out as the best choice for our family. The school's leadership team (the board members and principal, Mindy Thom) is composed of community members that have an amazing vision, the right priorities, and have shown that they are devoted to putting our students' safety and growth first. From the incredibly caring leaders and staff that took the time to get to know us early on (and still take time out of their busy days just to talk to our 2-year-old), to the top-notch and inspiring teachers that are truly dedicated to helping their students grow, we have been impressed by the Summit Christian Academy team every step of the way. Our daughter's Pre-K teacher, Mrs. Frasure, realized that our daughter preferred one-on-one interactions. She not only took the time to share that insight with us (which in hindsight explained a lot of our daughter's behaviors) but she also shared a personalized plan of how we could help cultivate that trait and also help her grow. The staff members are extremely organized and take the time to communicate well and often. Our daughter was a COVID kid and struggled with social skills before starting Pre-K. By the end of Pre-K, not only had her social skills grown leaps and bounds beyond where she started, but she had also gained a great deal of life skills and advanced academically beyond our greatest expectations. For example, she was writing her full name, starting to read, solving simple math problems, reciting scripture on stage, and re-teaching us about Bible stories all before Kindergarten. Kindergarten has been just as impressive! Mrs. DeMata and Mrs. King are a legendary duo with reputations that precede them. And let me tell you, they have truly poured their hearts and souls into helping each and every child in our daughter's class soar! My daughter is happy, absolutely loves school, and is thriving way beyond our greatest expectations! We cannot say enough good things about Summit Christian Academy. We LOVE Lam! I could go on about how amazing it is how they incorporate Jesus and scripture to fill the children up, I could go on about the amazing curriculum and how our children are being brought up to be leaders in our community in the future, but the staff is the heart of Lam. They have a deep love and concern for each child that attends the school. No child goes unnoticed or left behind here. Our son has gained a new and passionate love for Jesus, confidence in himself and his abilities, reads me books at night instead of the other way around, and he's only half way through kindergarten! This is the best Christian school in the area! This school challenges the students in a loving environment. My son has flourished in this small classroom environment whereas he would have been missed in bigger classrooms. The teachers take the time to get to know the students and are more able to help them with their individual strengths and weaknesses. My son has been at LAM for two years now. We transferred from public school mid-year and once my son met the staff he never looked back. My granddaughter has attended two years now and we are so happy with LAM they offer small class sizes and their teachers are awesome with the students. in pre K the children can already count in Spanish and know Spanish words. My two nieces attend LAM, and our whole family loves it. The girls are leaps and bounds ahead in their learning, and they ENJOY learning every day.
