My wife took two dress shirts and a pair of slacks into Pat's Cleaners off Pima road in Scottsdale last week. When she picked up the cleaning, she thought two things were odd: 1) One shirt was sandwiched in-between the other shirt and the pair of slacks. 2) The sandwiched shirt was not covered in plastic. Rather than spend a thousand words explaining what happened next, let me say this: the shirt with no plastic had been ruined by the cleaners. I've worn the shirt a total of [maybe] ten times, and when she picked it up (it was the one that was without plastic that they tried to hide) she was told that "the shirt was old and frayed." The sleeves and collar had been bleached white by what I assume was cleaning solution and when she pointed it out, he told her that it had come in that way. I can tell you, if that shirt looked like that when I wore it into the office the week before, I would have been laughed out of my bosses office. Now take a look at the pictures that show the rips in the shirt. Again, my wife was told that the shirt was old and that it was torn when it came in. Unbelievable. If it was torn when it came in, then why would my wife pay to have it cleaned? He offered her $3.00 for the shirt that THEY clearly damaged. So my words of advice are: go across the street.

I brought in a comforter to be professionally cleaned, and it was returned to me with a stain that was not there when I dropped it off. Instead of taking responsibility for the damage or offering any meaningful reimbursement, they took the comforter back and then kept it for four additional days without providing me an update. Their explanation was that they were "trying to clean it," but apparently nobody thought it was necessary to communicate that to the customer whose property they had already returned in worse condition. Trying to get an answer was another ordeal. It was incredibly difficult to get anyone on the phone, communication was practically nonexistent, and when I finally dealt with an employee directly, the interaction was shockingly rude and unprofessional. A business making a mistake is one thing. Damaging a customer's property and then handling the problem with poor communication, no accountability, and rude customer service is something entirely different. I gave them the opportunity to correct the situation before writing this review. Instead, I was left with a stained comforter, days of wasted time trying to get answers, and no meaningful reimbursement for what happened. This was easily one of the worst customer-service experiences I've had with a cleaner. If you're trusting a business with clothing, bedding, or anything valuable to you, I would think twice before leaving it here.

It gives me the opportunity to decide if I want to wait that long. The best thing, besides the convenience is the turn around time and my not having to always check my laundry for damage. I asked for an explanation, but no one could tell me what happened or why the dress looked different. Instead of taking responsibility or providing a reasonable explanation, I was left with more questions than answers. This wasn't just another piece of clothing it was my wedding dress, something that holds tremendous sentimental value and cannot simply be replaced. After years of trusting this business, this experience was incredibly disappointing. I understand that accidents can happen, but honesty, accountability, and customer service matter. Unfortunately, I didn't receive any of those. Because of this experience, I can no longer recommend this dry cleaner, especially for valuable or sentimental items.

I looked around the area and came across Malibu Cleaners. Thus far, I've been delighted with the experience I have had on both of my two visits to Malibu Cleaners so far. While the price is more than I paid at prior cleaners, I am more than willing to pay this price for the service that I've been offered. On my first visit to Malibu Cleaners, I had to get several shirts and pants dry cleaned. I picked everything up the next day in great condition. This was before I realized that I really didn't need everything dry-cleaned. They had Saturday hours, so I dropped off three shirts on Saturday afternoon. They are closed Sunday but two of my shirts were ready on Monday when stated. One wasn't ready until Tuesday but that was due to there being a small stain they couldn't get out without the possibility of damage to the shirt itself. I appreciated them spending an extra day trying to remove the stain. When I stopped by yesterday, I saw someone just in front of me with what looked like a dozen shirts. A second employee saw me waiting before the customer with all of the shirts and immediately stepped up to see how they could assist me. I also appreciated not having to wait long. Malibu Cleaners is considered "the Phoenix Valley's premier, full-service dry cleaner and laundry." You can learn more about them by visiting their website at https://www.malibucleans.com. They are a green cleaners and has a mission that includes providing quality and service to exceed customer expectations. They have set prices for laundered shirts, dry cleaned pants, dry cleaned suit jackets, and wash and fold service by the pound (and more on their website). They are opened weekdays from 7 AM to 6 PM, Saturdays from 9 AM to 4 PM, and closed on Sundays. Closed brought in are typically ready the next day after 4 PM. Upon request, if in before 9 AM, it could be ready the same day by 4 PM at no extra charge (except for Tuesdays and Fridays). As a quality cleaners nearby, I will look forward to stopping by for more service again soon!
