I ordered uber eats from this location & received old hard & over cooked food. I've actually ordered from this place about 2 times before with no issues, so I thought I'd give them a courtesy call to see if I can just drive over and get it replaced no problem (ALTHOUGH i paid extra fees to get it delivered faster to be more fresh). I asked really nice and sweet also (i promise i always meet people with grace & respect). However, I was met in return with immediate deference & aggression from the chef/manager & that was super alarming enough for me to leave a review. Not only that the food is completely inedible. I'm very careful about leaving bad Google reviews because I respect peoples business. Unless it's really good, it takes a lot of of me to leave a review. But the way the manager mistreated me at this location was disgusting & I thought I'd warn anyone who would ever want to order from this place. I ordered today at 12pm (just incase hire ups needs to look into who handled me this way, he also would not give me his name). He proceeds to yell at me that he knows the food was fresh & that my food being bad has nothing to do with them because i didn't order there physically, i ordered online. Which was absolutely crazy to me because you are the company who hired this 3rd party to deliver the food you cook & represent. Therefore you are just as responsible. The fact that I was going to offer to drive over and exchange the food after already paying for delivery fees and extra fees to get it faster and fresher, and I still wasn't helped by this restaurant just blows my mind away, and I will be taking this further. Sumo Teppanyaki is located next to Publix in Haines City. A friend a mine recommended it awhile ago and I finally got around to trying it. The restaurant is currently only ordering takeout. In a non COVID world they might have had dine or delivery, but not currently. You can call, walk in, or order your food online. I was next door at Publix so I just went in and ordered before shopping and then picked up my food. I had the hibachi chicken with fried rice and vegetables. It is also served with a salad of lettuce, cucumbers, and ginger dressing. The cost of this meal was $10.15. I thought the portion was large, especially for the price. I enjoyed the rice and appreciated the lack of peas and carrots that most places put in fried rice. Carrots are ok, but I really don't like peas. The rice made up the large portion of the to-go container. The chicken was in one of the other spots and the vegetables in the other. I thought the chicken and rice were quite flavorful and especially enjoyed them sort of entwined together. I only ate about 1/2 the meal so my husband and I ended up sharing it. He also enjoyed it and encouraged me to bring it home again, so I guess I will be. read more

I was Disappointed with my order today . First ordering on phone was challenging because i couldn't understand the words the lady at sumos was saying when I asked questions regarding my order. With 2 orders I had 2 meats: chicken steak, fried rice, vegetables & yum Yum sauce. Vegetables was 3 small broccoli & onions sautéed in teriyaki sauce. The fried rice was dry. I had very small portion of steak when compared to the chicken. This was not my first order at Sumo. I keep coming back, because I think that my orders will be the same as it use to be before Covid. I know now that will not happen. unfortunately the quality of the food has declined and keeps declining. As soon as my husband walked in to pick up our order the gentleman behind the counter "greeted" him with, "what do you want?!" Something New and Exciting to Try in Haines City. At First I Thought it was another Chinese Restaurant (We dont need more of those we got plenty in Haines city) but it turns out its a Japanese Cuisine Restaurant. First Thing I Tried was the Chicken Teriyaki Sample that was handed out. The Flavor was amazing. The Chicken was Juicy and the Teriyaki sauce tasted great. I ordered the T5: Chicken and Shrimp Teriyaki that came with the Steam Rice. I can see the Employee Cooking my meal, so you know its fresh. I decided to eat inside and my meal was brought to my table. My Thoughts? It was Delicious, I ate the Whole Thing. It was not Greasy and you don't feel sluggish after eating the meal. Honestly it's a little hole in the wall in Haines City but I Love the sushi rolls. It's inexpensive and place always smells great when you walk in. Open every day except Mondays but they cook right in front of you there so you see everything they put on the hibachi Grill. read more

This place changed hands recently, One of my favorite things on their menu used to be the cheese steak egg roll when the former owners had the place. It had a lot of meat and cheese and was very flavorful. I went today( the first time since it changed hands) and found that they still had them on the menu but, had changed them and they no longer have more than 1/2 a thimble full of meat in them. This item used to be a very popular item on the menu. No longer any good. If they changed this item to save money I don't want to know what they have done to the rest of the food.
