It's Magical Dining time and it is included at Benihana. For $40, this was such a fun dining experience! I started with the pan-fried pork gyoza dumplings, followed by the hibachi New York strip steak and mushrooms, and finished with rainbow sherbet. Of course, the food was only part of the fun. Watching the chef work the hibachi grill was like dinner and a show all in one! The utensil flipping, sizzling grill, and classic Teppanyaki table tricks kept everyone entertained. There's just something magical about watching your meal being cooked right in front of you. The steak was delicious, the dumplings were a great start, and the sherbet was the perfect light finish. And with all of the extras that come with the Magical Dining menu, including soup, salad, vegetables, and their hibachi chicken rice was included in magical Dining not an extra $10.50! There was plenty of food and I have leftovers to enjoy later. Fun, interactive, and definitely more than just dinner... it's an experience! Our chef tonight was awesome and the service was good. All things were good and what you would expect from this type of restaurant experience. The service was great at first, but then we felt like we were forgotten about. Our main courses were delivered and then we were checked in on a significant amount of time later. If we needed anything, there was no one in sight. Come ready to eat! This Benihana is located inside the Hilton Lake Buena Vista, and provides complementary parking validation at the hotel after dining. Stepping inside, the team was friendly and welcoming, and I enjoyed visiting the bar as well as a great availability of tables in the dining room. At a Benihana, you know that you were getting tons of food and that it will all be freshly prepared in front of you with entertaining chefs, joking, and doing tricks along the way. This was my first time trying the filet mignon, which I greatly enjoyed and of course, an excellent array of vegetables, fried rice and soup and salad. My only challenge with this location was a bit of a wait between courses - the restaurant was slightly understaffed at the time I went. But overall a pleasant experience! read more

I love hibachi and was looking forward to trying Benihana. The service was eh. I wasn't impressed with the chef's performance. She made a few side comments about the other guests at the table not getting her jokes. The food was somewhat mid level as well. There was definitely a lot of garlic used. Way too much garlic butter ruined the fried rice taste. The portions were good. I would have rather all the vegetables be served together instead of one by one. I did feel it was over priced for what you got. The Ambiance was not that great either. I felt like it was entirely too crowded and not well ventilated. We made a reservation six weeks in advance for a party of 12 at the Hilton Benihana. We live in St. Petersburg and stay at this Hilton 12-14 times a year, so this is not a one-off visit for us. Unfortunately, this has become a pattern. The last half dozen times we've dined here with a reservation, we've ended up eating at the bar instead of being seated. This time was far worse. Despite the six-week notice and a large party reservation, we were told upon arrival that the wait would be 1.5 to 2 hours, reservation or not. The hostess was openly snarky and stated they were behind due to "all the walk-ins," which begs the question: what is the point of a reservation if walk-ins are prioritized? We had a 6-year-old with us and several people with early morning flights, so waiting hours was not realistic. Thankfully, the bartender Jonathan actually listened and showed genuine concern. He said he would get the manager. The manager (wearing an orange tie) told us the issue was "corporate," claiming they have no control over bookings or reservations. That explanation is unacceptable to hear as a customer who planned far in advance and stays at this property regularly. After pushing for a solution, Jonathan stepped up and got our entire party seated, and we finally placed our order at 9:29 PM--long after we should have been eating. After reading Yelp reviews while sitting there, it's clear this is a known and ongoing issue, not an isolated incident. Anyone considering dining here--especially for a group or special occasion--should be aware: a reservation means very little at this location, and you may still be left waiting while walk-ins are seated. Teppanyaki Chef was friendly and efficient at making our food! However- he poured salt and pepper on everything. The grill and cooking surfaces were covered. It one thing to use seasoning to enhance the flavor. It's totally irresponsible to use to such extreme. We have been to multiple Benihana's and by far this had been the absolute worst. We got $39 hibachi dinner and the rice was dried and chicken was so burnt it was crunchy. We had to have it remade. The vegetables were charred and soggy. My husband ordered Sashimi and 6 pieces were completely frozen. The pork dumpling tasted rancid, sour. Take out review! When it comes to the food I love it. The shows are great. We do get some to go often we usually get the family pack. It comes with plenty of food. The sushi is also good some Tempura is our go to. After this maybe try eating in. I usually don't do reviews on take out but this place was the worst place I have ever got take out from. Starting from how rude they are. I place an order at exactly 9:10 the order said it would ready by 10 pm I didn't get my food till 10:40. After we were sat, we waited 20 minutes for a server to come at least take a drink order and they never did. At the same time the location of the Benihana is inside. The Hilton is my least favorite restaurant in Florida. The manager is disinterested doesn't care about the clients or the guest nor receptive to feedback so if someone responds since as we want to hear the feedback, believe me, I tried. It is a shame that a quality brand restaurant like this has terrible levels of service, Delivery hospitality, friendliness, and manager engagement. My boyfriend took me here as a surprise date night with a 7:30 reservation as it was my first and last time as the experience was interestingly awful to say the least. Our server didn't provide a memorable experience for what we were expecting from a supposedly high-end establishment. He also said a few things that were insensitive, as if he assumed from the gate that we were a table that weren't going to tip him accordingly. He made sure to introduce himself by making a comment saying the 39 per person deal should be more within our budget as if he knew our income. After requesting our opinion on the experience and food, he implied our either bland or heavily peppered food could've been avoided if we went to the hibachi side of the restaurant instead. Basically implying that their line cooks aren't as capable as their hibachi chefs. We were also there for over an hour and were only checked on by our server once, not including the time he rushed over to give us the check. For the "luxury" experience we were supposed to be given, they didn't pre-buss our tables for the multiple courses we were given, so our dishes were piled up sky high on the tiny two-top table. We were fortunate enough for another server to come check on us and clear most of our dishes, along with providing me with a to-go container. As a server myself, I was trained to give everyone the best experience that could be given so every customer would feel inclined to return. Customers deserve the bare minimum kindness and respect from all staff regardless of appearance and status. We should've been greeted with smiles instead of passive-aggressive behavior. We couldn't help but feel as though it was due to them prejudging us based on how we looked although we were dressed nicely for the occasion. We only encountered two decent staff members, which were the female hostess and the server who assisted us in the end. Everyone else was either passive-aggressive or just downright rude as hell. We didn't feel valued as paying customers who did indeed tip the staff money they did not deserve. If you're looking for a place to get good food from in this area, you'd have a better time going to Food Truck World, KPot, Kobe's, or any IHop or Waffle House in the city, (basically anywhere else that isn't here), and the food tastes a whole lot better. I went with 3 because my experience was way different than my wife's. For me everything was great. Server and the teppan chef were amazing . My A5 Wagyu steak was perfect. The dragon roll I got was so good as well. When asked about our experience at the end the manager asked if it was worth 5 stars . I nodded and the other party nodded. I didn't notice my wife just smiled and nodded her head being polite. She's not the type to say anything if there's other people around. She did eat the fish off the top of the roll just so at least part of it got eaten. She ordered the same expensive A5 steak as I did, however instead of melting in her mouth it was all gristly. We brought it home with the too much soy sauce fried rice and my wife asked me to try the steak and most of the bites were inedible. During my recent stay at the Hilton Lake Buena Vista at Disney Springs for a Conference, I decided to treat my team to what I hoped would be a memorable evening at your Benihana location. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the most disappointing dining experiences I have had in years--especially shocking considering we spent over $700 that evening. The problems began the moment we sat at the bar for happy hour. For over fifteen minutes, not one person acknowledged us. Not even a simple "We'll be right with you." We were left sitting there as though invisible, until finally a bartender came over. Rather than greeting us with hospitality, his first words were a curt and dismissive: "What do you want?" with no eye contact. Throughout the ordering process, we had to repeat ourselves multiple times, as he seemed far more focused on the earbud in his ear than on serving paying guests. While our appetizers did arrive in reasonable time, our drinks sat empty, ignored by both bartenders and what appeared to be a manager casually walking behind the bar. The most disturbing incident came when an extra sushi plate was dropped in front of us. After we explained that we already had everything we ordered, the bartender picked the plate back up, despite the fact that one of us had already taken a piece of sushi off and then placed it in front of another guest at the bar. I was absolutely appalled. Having worked in restaurants, I know this is not just poor service, it is a blatant violation of basic food safety and guest respect. The guest he handed it to was visibly shocked as well. When it came time to pay the bar tab, we endured yet another 10-minute wait just to get the bartender's attention, only to be met with the same condescending "What do you want?", very rude to a point of being disrespectful. We did inform the manager on duty of this interaction, and he seemed not care just as much as the bartender. At our reserved table, the disappointment only deepened. Our reservation was for 6:30 p.m., yet our cook did not arrive until 8:03 p.m. An hour and a half delay before even beginning the meal is completely unacceptable. The only redeeming part of the evening was our chef, Eli, who was outstanding despite being visibly overworked. He mentioned that there were only three chefs covering a packed restaurant, which explained the chaos but did nothing to excuse it. The entire night felt like a cascade of indifference and unprofessionalism. For the price we paid, and considering the prestige of your brand, I expected a polished and memorable experience for my team. Instead, we were left embarrassed, frustrated, and questioning why we didn't choose one of the many far superior options in Disney Springs. I am deeply disappointed that what should have been a celebratory evening turned into an ordeal. I strongly urge you to address these glaring issues with your staff and management team, as what we experienced does not just fall short it damages the reputation of your restaurant. Also waste your time reaching out to them by phone or email, they do not respond! I will now be calling the health department on them, if they don't care that their employees give other guests half eaten food I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. read more

Unfortunately, my mom and I made the choice to come here to celebrate my birthday tonight. I made sure to mention the "Friends With Benefits"(their loyalty program) $50 birthday voucher when we walked in and the manager told us just to let the server know. The hostess was snooty and chewing gum as she walked us to a table. The chef on a different table kept slamming his cart into my mom's arm(a server nearly knocked her drink over). Our server brought her an iced tea she ne we ordered (and still charged her for it). There was a very loud guest in the next room over that made it nearly impossible to communicate with my mom sitting right next to me. Let's not forget the busser using a Shark Vaccuum all around the food(not only loud but to hear the crunches going through it was not appetizing). I asked the server for more salad dressing, she took 2 other tables orders and forgot about it for 20 min before I asked someone at the host stand. Didn't matter anyways as the salad was wilted and icky. Our server also forgot to bring over the rice we were supposed to receive with dinner(we got it after I finally asked a manager for it at THE END of our meal). On top of all of it(the sexually forward chef burning half our food, dropping his knife on the floor, and the shrimp "appetizer" coming toward the end of the meal)...they didn't do anything for my birthday or the girl at the same table as us that was also celebrating her birthday...but the server said we couldn't use a birthday reward because it was Saturday (the voucher doesn't say that) and the manager couldn't find the voucher on my account.
