I used to bring many of my alteration needs here. Most of the time, the qualities were decent, couple of time were not. I have one pant that she worked on twice, but kept ripped open, and I brought to her attention, she did not apologize that she might have overlooked the area that needed to be enhenced. I was a bit not pleased about how she handeled the situation. However, I really want to support the small business, so I thought that I should give another try again. She must has gone mad this time, Sun wants to charge shortening a simple linen pant for $40, in La Crescenta area????!!! This is Norstrom price!! and I was reluctant to agree on the price, she kept pushing and exercised the worse car slae's person's schtick, told me how special and difficult those pants will require to work on. She probably did not know that I sew too, I have basic knowledge of operating sewing machine and a surger. I walked out of the door, and went down the street to another alterarion who charges $18 for the same job. I really hate to write negative review for small business, but I really have gave this business plenty opportunities. It is dissapointed that I felt she is destroying whatever she has built in the past. Sun should be greatful that community has been supporting her business, she should continue to charge fairly and maintain the good quality work, instead of taking advanatge of her pouplarity, and try to rip off the customers. read more

If you have something complicated like a prom dress to fit right, for eg, than by all means go here. She knows her stuff. But if you just want a simple pant hemmed up or a dress length hemmed up than you're better off going to your dry cleaner or anyone else! $50(!) for a simple length alteration is ridiculous. read more

Sadly, cant recommend getting your work done here, but maybe mine was just an isolated event. Brought a dress in to be altered. Service was timely and everything seemed great. When I tried it on during the pick up, the back of the dress was way too short, making it unwearble. They offered to take off the seam to make it longer but that wasn't enough to make it wearable without my butt showing. Pretty disappointed as this beautiful dress was for a wedding and now I have to start all over. Won't be returning here again. :/ read more

She was attentive to my needs and I felt that she knew what she was doing plus that she specialized in altering two dresses I needed shortened in 2 weeks time. I took my denim jacket to get tailored and they did a great job. I'm a bit obsessive when it comes to detail so I was a little hesitant to take my jacket here due to the low number of reviews. But then I thought to myself "F That!", I should be supporting all local businesses! Judging reviews is interesting. I think that they have low number of reviews because yelp isn't something most people consider unless a business has come up from the internet generation. These small businesses that don't cater to yelp/the internet are amazing. I can imagine that they wanted to start a business because they felt they were good at doing X. They also felt that service X wasn't provided or available where they live so they wanted to risk/invest in starting something up for their community. I think that's beautiful and I will continue to look for places with the lowest number of reviews. I'm not too familiar with other competitive prices but the price I got felt reasonable especially considering the labor. Plenty of people pay over hundreds of dollars on food and drinks without hesitation but are quick to protest paying the cost of human labor that require detail. When things are too cheap or low cost, someone's getting hurt (i.e. our farmers who grow our foods). Support your community. Quick turnaround rate and friendly. read more

I'm one of those "lucky" covid brides who had to postpone her wedding. Esther had hemmed my wedding dress, changed the belt and created a bustle. When I told her I postponed last year, she encouraged me to stay the course so it would fit once our wedding arrived. Our wedding is this Sunday and I tried my dress on a few days ago and discovered it was slightly big in the bodice so back to Esther I went. Esther agreed to take it in in just a couple of days and upon picking it up today, I asked her what the charge would be. No charge! I did pay for previous alterations but figured since more of her time was being spent on my dress, I'd have to pay her. She insisted there was no charge. Considering I've been spending money on this wedding like it's water, any savings right now is much appreciated. And she did a fabulous job on my gorgeous lace dress. Thanks Esther! read more
