I wanted to leave a review based on such a positive experience that I encountered. The owners Vanik and Narine were so welcoming and kind and helped me repair my tuxedo and dress shirt that was ripped at a previous event. They took the time to explain to me what the repair entailed and made sure that I understood what could be done. When I came to pick up my clothes, they looked brand new. Every single item was repaired and sewn into its former condition and they cleaned and pressed it perfectly. I couldn't tell a difference from when I first bought it to when I picked it up. This left me very satisfied and they gained a new customer for years to come. I am so glad I found a spot and can't recommend them enough for anyone looking for a new cleaners or even alterations. Went in to drop off a tux, picked it up all seemed good! There was still a stain on the pants, and when I asked if it was possible to remove it and I would pay extra, the guy answered very rudely saying, "You remember how you brought it before?" We moved to the area last year and needed to find a reliable, quality, and reasonably-priced dry cleaner. Not only is Chevy Chase Deluxe Cleaners excellent at what they do, but they are also kind and flexible. And they deliver/pick up for free to our area (we live nearby). Recently we had some last minute tailoring needs for a few formal items. Of course, they did a fantastic job. Details matter: they close protective plastic at the bottom so longer items don't accidentally get dirty again on their way home; they steamed my gown after hemming it so the pleats fell perfectly and it was ready to wear that evening; they called to make sure I was ok with them laundering an item in a different way to get out a stubborn stain. I will preface this by saying I have never written anyone a bad review, and would prefer not write one, but wanted to bring this incident to light, as a warning. I brought in an expensive linen quilt from Parachute in November to be washed along with some other items to be dry cleaned. They would be ready in a week. I came back 10 days later to pick up and was told the blanket was not ready, so I paid for the other items and left. It was just before the Thanksgiving Holidays and I had to go away on a trip. I forgot about the blanket because of the holiday season until 2 weeks ago, I received a phone call from Deluxe reminding to pick it up. It was there, on a hanger, wrapped in plastic, tightly folded. Everything looked fine-until I unpacked it to put on the bed. There were a few big splotches of what looked like bleach marks/stains all over the blanket. I went back to inquire what happened and I was so disappointed by how they handled it. They were very dishonest. Lie #1: They said "Harry" called me in November to tell me there was a problem (there was no phone call made) They kept insisting he called me. I had my call log on my phone. NO calls. Lie #2: I "brought the blanket in with bleach stains on it already". There were paw prints from our dog which I had carefully pinned notes on to show Harry when I dropped off the cleaning. He had inspected the quilt then, and there were NO bleach marks. We don't have bleach at home.If they actually received my quilt with all those marks, wouldn't it make sense to call me that same day and say "hey, there are all these stains, we just want you to know and if you still want us to clean it we will, but we're not responsible for them" They said they would ask Harry if he remembered, but he has left the business, he might not remember from 4 months ago. Then they offered me a credit for the cleaning $20 for a $300 quilt? To Harry's credit, he called me later that day. But... Lie#3: Harry said he specifically told his associates to call me and says they forgot to call. All the while they were insisting he called me. Lie#4: Harry said they didn't clean the quilt because it was damaged, that's why they "didn't charge" me. They did charge me when I picked it up! And the paw prints were gone and the quilt smelled like laundry soap! So clearly something happened when they cleaned it. Lie #5: Harry said that was why it was on a hanger wrapped in plastic ( because it wasn't cleaned) and not a zippered carrier. From all the years I've had things cleaned, only duvets come in a plastic zippered bag. They have always hung my duvet covers and quilts on a hanger. When you own a business and have clearly made a mistake, please accept responsibility for it, offer to replace the item as a gesture or offer to pay for a portion of the cost to replace it or at the very least, admit the mistake and apologize...and it all would have been fine. But please don't lie and blame a customer for your mistake. It's shady, it's dishonest, it's bad practice. I've supported this business for over 10 years. I'm no longer using this service as there were other minor incidents prior to this that I've let go without complaining (mistake on my part) Please check your items immediately when picking them up. read more

Incredibly disappointed! I took my bridesmaid dress to get altered here and absolutely would not be able to recommend their alteration services. I asked the seamstress to hem the dress to one length, just off the floor. I wore the heels I was planning to wear to the wedding, and there were only two layers that needed to be hemmed, a lining and the outer layer. I also asked her to reinforce the bust, as I didn't want any accidents on the day of and wanted to avoid showing excessive cleavage. The seamstress was unfriendly and even expressed a little attitude when I asked for the bust to be reinforced. I contemplated in that moment just going somewhere else, and honestly I should have. I picked my dress up two days prior to the wedding and paid $55 all in. I felt the price was reasonable. I tried my dress on the night before the wedding, and the front of the dress was way too long while the rest of the length was fine. I had to hold the skirt up throughout the entire day to not trip on it. Ok fine, I could deal with that. The worst part was that she only used 1 (ONE!) loosely sewn in thread to hold the bust together, so of course, it did not hold. The bride took most of her bridal party photos before the ceremony, and as I was fluffing her train, the bust broke open. Thank goodness this didn't happen during the ceremony!!! Luckily she had a few safety pins on hand so I was able to pin the bust shut and hid it behind the bouquet all day. I was so uncomfortable and self conscious the entire wedding, constantly checking that the bust was in place. Needless to say I'll never go back. read more

Did an amazing job hemming our blackout curtains. I needed the curtains to be 91" but they only sell 95". In addition they pressed it for an additional cost but well worth it. Brought 4 jeans for hemming on a Friday. Was told it would be ready by next Wednesday. I told them I would pick them up on Thursday. I come by on Thursday and they tell me it is not ready until 4pm. No apology given. They forced me to come back again after 4pm. I would have let it slide if they addressed their error. They could have offered a discount or delivery so I don't have to make the trip again. Customer service needs work. Would not recommend. read more
