The best way to do Cabo!…read more Hola amigos, let me share my vast knowledge of Cabo San Lucas with you to narrow down your travel decisions and make it easier. First and foremost, I have stayed at 5-star resorts, corridor boutique beach-front hotels, romantic villa hotels and all-inclusive resorts.. If you are coming down with a group of friends to Cabo San Lucas, let me tell you that if you can all be fortunate enough to stay in a Villa all together, it will be the most memorable vacation you will ever have. Nothing is more contagious and fun than laughter Lifestyle Villas does all the heavy lifting for you, all you have to do is sit back and press play while having the chefs/butlers bring you shots and margaritas. I am lucky enough to have an amazing circle of friends and I have stayed with Lifestyle Villas in six different villas. Each time is a memorable experience that you will hold dear to your heart and have great things to post to social media. Nothing is better than waking up in the morning and seeing all of your best friends exchange stories from the night before and have Lifestyles' staff serve you breakfast outside overlooking the ocean. They can also provide transportation, book restaurant reservations and plan activities for you to do all day. Or, you can just hang out in their pool or your private beach and have all-day fun. Their staff all speak fluent English and they provide the safest experience for their guests from the moment they pick you up at the airport until you are dropped off at the Villa. If you are torn between staying at a different resort or one of these villas, Lifestyle Villas all have a 10 star rating with my friends and I. Thank you Lifestyles for all of the amazing experiences that my friends and I will share for the rest of our lives. See some photos and videos from a few of my past stays with Lifestyles below.

Hacienda Encantada Cabo - 4-Bedroom Penthouse Vacation Review (June, 2026)…read more If you are looking for a luxury, five-star, hassle-free beach vacation, Hacienda Encantada may not be the best fit. The resort offers beautiful views and several bright spots, but our 4-bedroom penthouse felt dated, several service issues affected the stay, and the property does not offer direct beach access. In comparing online reviews, the Yelp ratings (3.0) and comments seemed more consistent with our experience than the more favorable TripAdvisor reviews (4.6). Positives The $142 per person, per day premium all-inclusive option felt worthwhile because food and drink prices at the hotel were very high. However, guests should be aware that the resort periodically--sometimes hourly--requires tabs to be closed and restarted, which can feel like an added prompt for tipping. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and Ernesto was a fantastic server. The hotel restaurants included in the plan were stronger than the Marina/Golden Zone options. Mestizo was our favorite, although one of the higher-end restaurants was temporarily closed during our stay. On our last evening, there was no indoor dining option available. Tip: Avoid Barolo for Italian food. The pool staff and service were a clear highlight of the trip, especially Oscar and Manuel. Our butler was also helpful in navigating most of the (daily) issues that came up throughout the week. Negatives We worked with the concierge for several weeks to arrange airport transportation and a boat excursion for six people. Even after reconfirming the details before arrival, the airport transportation was not in place, and we had to take a taxi to the hotel; transportation for the boat tour was also mishandled. Be aware that the airport arrival experience was heavily focused on timeshare sales, and many of the people offering assistance were affiliated with timeshare companies. After the airport transportation issue, we were again approached by aggressive timeshare salespeople at the Hacienda Encantada who initially appeared to be hotel staff. Fortunately, they did not continue approaching us after that first interaction. Several people we spoke with said they spent four to six hours of their vacation attending timeshare presentations. When we arrived at the penthouse, the room temperature was 82 degrees, and it took three maintenance visits before the rooms reached the 70s the next day. To keep the space cool, we had to leave notes asking staff to close the shades and doors, which meant we had little opportunity to enjoy the views during the week. The resort does not offer beach access, which is important to know before booking a beach-focused vacation. The resort also requires towel cards for pool towels and charges $25 for each towel that is not returned, which felt out of step with the expectations of a high-end resort. The Golden Zone/Marina area felt lower-end than expected and was crowded with cruise visitors. We were approached repeatedly while walking in the marina, including by people offering drugs, which made the area feel uncomfortable and less enjoyable for our group. Based on what we saw, the sister property appeared to be of even lower quality. One night during the World Cup, we were not allowed into the Golden Zone's Legends Bar despite having made a reservation two days earlier; it appeared that outside guests who were not on the all-inclusive plan were being prioritized, even though the bar seemed to have only a small number of people inside. The manager's on duty, Fermin and Gabriel were very unprofessional! Housekeeping was disappointing. Dust from the air-conditioning repairs was not cleaned from the bathroom or shower, and basic items such as tissues and soap were not replaced even when empty containers were left on the counter or shower floor; beds were made and towels were replaced daily, but little beyond that was completed. None of the rooms had smart TVs, so we were unable to stream content during the stay. Tip: Bring an HDMI cord. The hotel offered no evening entertainment, had no late-night bar or lounge options, and generally seemed to shut down around 10 p.m. Although the penthouse was advertised as accommodating up to 12 people, we felt it would be more comfortable for a maximum of eight. Overall Recommendation Hacienda Encantada may work well for travelers who prioritize resort views, pool service, and an all-inclusive dining setup, but it is not an ideal choice for guests expecting a polished luxury penthouse experience, seamless logistics, strong housekeeping, or direct beach access. We would not return and do not recommend the resort.

Upon entering, the alluring decor and enticing aromatics definitely hypnotize. Everything here is magical. The lush gardens are filled with a variety of bright, organic vegetables that literally personalizes the concept of farm to table. Everything you need to prepare a delicious meal is a step outside your back door. The spacious cottages are nestled within the farm itself creating the perfect Garden of Eden at your fingertips. Our lovely friends who own a cottage extended an invitation to my family and I sharing their home away from home. A true blessing to experience and taste a piece of paradise. The custom built cottages were spared no expense. Everything is of the highest quality and durability not to mention unique design and details. High ceilings, a butcher's block kitchen, luxury linens in each room and every necessity imaginable from the kitchen to the laundry facility is available. The large appliances are made so that there is but a whisper of sound indicating it's on. All the rooms have their own cooling system adjustable to each occupants desire. The complimentary shampoo/conditioner and soaps are all organic, locally hand made and pure as you can get. Cleaning and maintenance service is provided just as if you were in a fancy hotel wrapped in a cozy robe. Culinary Cottages is definitely well thought out and apparently some heart and soul went into its foundation. There are numerous boutiques on the grounds for shopping as well as an amazing coffee house/winery to boast. The famous Flora's Field Kitchen and delightful farmer's market is situated here only adjacent to the private dining area exclusively for property owners. Fried chicken Tuesday is a local inside tip that many look forward to and outsiders flock to indulge. Honestly, everything on the gourmet menu is of five star caliber and the ambiance just brings it all together. If you get the chance to stay at the cottages, do it! It is an experience you will never forget and will always be a part of you. Taking a tour and maybe considering ownership is the bigger option if you dare... you may never want to leave. It is poetry in motion depicted in novels and a dreamland captured in the backdrop of your photos.

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort absolutely delivers the full luxury experience -- from the moment you arrive, everything feels effortless, elevated, and honestly a little addictive. The entertainment is stellar -- live music, performances, and nightly events that actually feel fun (not forced). There's always something happening, whether you want a lively vibe or a relaxed evening with a cocktail watching the sunset. Speaking of cocktails... the fresh fruit drinks are next-level. Think real ingredients, not syrup overload. Every margarita, mojito, and tropical creation tastes like it was made by someone who actually cares about flavor. The all-inclusive experience truly means all-inclusive -- incredible dining options, premium drinks, beautiful pools, attentive service, and zero stress about constantly reaching for your wallet. Just show up and enjoy. And the setting? Absolutely stunning beaches with golden sand, dramatic coastline views, and that perfect Cabo glow. Pair that with a swim-up room, and suddenly leaving your suite becomes optional. Coffee in the morning from your terrace straight into the pool? Elite vacation behavior. Perfect for couples, celebrations, or anyone wanting a luxury getaway that actually lives up to the hype. 10/10 would book again without hesitation.

The shower has excellent water pressure, and the in-room fridge is consistently stocked with a wide variety of beverages, which is a nice touch. That said, the hotel is quite isolated in Cabo. If you're planning to explore the city, be prepared for a roughly 45-minute drive each way, which can get expensive. Staff: The staff are a major highlight. Everyone is extremely friendly, attentive, and genuinely goes out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. This level of hospitality seems consistent throughout Cabo in general. Food & Drinks: Unfortunately, this is where the experience falls apart. The food is very low quality, arguably some of the worst I've had at a resort. Even the "upscale" restaurants serve dishes that are underwhelming to the point of being inedible. The drinks are average at best, with mid- to low-tier alcohol selections. Entertainment: The resort is very quiet and lacks energy. There's minimal entertainment, and what is offered is below average. The shows aren't particularly engaging, and the "Desire" club is disappointing even on a weekend night. If your goal is simply to relax by the pool and do nothing, this could be a good fit. Otherwise, it may feel boring. Final Thoughts: Overall, the hotel is just okay. This experience reinforced my impression that many all-inclusive resorts follow the same formula, charging a premium for what ultimately feels like low-value extras and mediocre quality. This will likely be my last all-inclusive stay.
