Shout out to Cara for making our visit a great one! After visiting the Carmel, Indiana location we had to come and visit the Sarasota location while we were in town. Know that it's in an industrial park, it's easy to miss, and parking is extremely limited. However, once you're there, enjoy the chill vibe. The beer is consistently delicious. I started with the cream ale, which is a favorite of ours, but switched to the Hoops There It Is, which is a peach flavored wheat beer that was incredible! I liked it so much I took a crowler home with me to enjoy. There was a New Haven style pizza truck that people came specifically for. If we didn't have other dinner plans, we would've stayed to try it. The outside seating area is cozy and there's bags there too to play. It looked like there was someone coming in to do trivia night? As for the inside, it's barebones but I'm here for good beer and conversation. We will definitely be back when were in town. Visiting Sarasota and needed a place to have a quick bite, saw Sun King Brewing and got my interest. They don't have a kitchen, but there was a food truck that had New Haven Style pizza (I'm told that the crust is charred is the technique). My mum and grams finished the 2 boxes of pizza they ordered. Back to the brewery, the bartender was super helpful since my grams hasn't been to a brewery in awhile. Sun King has alot of drinks that are fruity, sweet or taste like ice cream. My favorite was the Orange Cream Ale because it's exactly like the ice cream when I drank as part of a flight. In 1 pint form, the taste gets a little diluted. The Lollipop Watermelon would have to be my second go to, sweet, but tarty. Ended up buying a pack of beer because of the cute dog/cat designs, can't wait to try it back at home!! read more

We live in Orlando and only get over here 2 or 3 times a year. The service is always amayzing and the beers are delicious. I am worried that that no longer brew any beer at this location. We miss the lollypop sour line. Please bring it back. read more

Love this place. Owner is super talented and you must try a taste of something you might not have ever thought you'd like. (Even if you're not a beer drinker, you might be pleasantly surprised) His descriptions of each beer is spot on. A few big award winners as well. I I think there's some wine slushies too. I'll try that next. I just love a craft beer and this place hits the spot for me. It's a comfy place for locals to hang out and even bring their pets. Really wanted to like this place, but every beer we tried tasted old/flat. May give it another try, vibe was decent.

We were a little bit early for the Orioles baseball game, so went over to this brewery. So nice to sit outside and enjoy some drinks. Hubby tried the mystery flight for five dollars and found a couple that he liked. We had a bag of pretzels and I had a kombucha. We enjoyed watching people coming in and out, filling their growlers. My husband and I lived walking distance from Sun King in Indianapolis for 4 years, so we were obviously stoked when we came on vacation to Sarasota and were able to have a Sun King fix! This location reminds us of the Indy one, just on a smaller scale. The staff was extremely attentive & friendly- we loved Zack working at the bar when we came on Tuesday night for bingo night. Bingo night is such a fun activity to offer at the brewery- it's a nice break from trivia for those that may not be gifted academically haha. Although the location doesn't offer any food, there was indeed a food truck parked outside to serve patrons! We brought in our own takeout & enjoyed it with our draft. The taproom is dog-friendly- but you've gotta keep your furry friends outside. The taproom is kid friendly & also offers some board games for guests to play. My only suggestion would be to consider some low table options inside for guests that may come in and be restricted to a wheelchair and can't sit with others at a high top. Although there are tables at regular height offered outside. We had such a great time enjoying beers we used to regular in Indiana & can't wait to come back and visit again to see the news beers they'll release! read more

The Orange Vanilla sunlight is probably the best beer I have ever had and I strongly recommend, even for those that generally don't like beer. We decided to make a visit to the actual brewery as we had just learned about it l, but man... we were disappointed. While they had great beer, the personality behind the bar is something less spectacular. I am sure they are nice people, but they are neither engaging, fun, or have any personality. If you want this great beer, I suggest getting it to go or pay just a tiny bit extra and visit Yard House while still enjoying an affordable, amazing beer. read more

Grand opening was YESTERDAY! They are a brewery out of Indiana, and this is is their first florida location. They have food, board games, and tv's inside so you can come and stay awhile! The staff is very friendly and kind, interior is open, bright and very welcoming. Location is only 6 mins from downtown so it's easy place to go before a dinner or after a beach day.
