Amazing place in Lakewood Ranch! I'm so happy to have a great brewery/restaurant close to home just like what I was used to where I moved from years ago. Great food, awesome beer selection, and love the vibe! Had the dry rub wings today along with a couple hazy's. Excellent! For those posting negative reviews, I urge you to give them another shot. We were there the night they reopened after Hurricane Milton, as it seems were half Lakewood Ranch! It's an understatement to say they were slammed! They were doing the best they could given the circumstances. Yet there was a table close to us that found fault. Give it a friggin rest people! Everyone is entitled to have an "off day", especially after a Cat 4 hurricane rips through your area! Inner Compass didn't have to reopen as quickly as they did. But they did anyway because they were serving a real need. If people don't see that, then that's on them! I've never had a bad meal there. Yes, occasionally service is slow or less attentive but if you look at the wider picture of what's happening in the moment, there's a real, legitimate reason. People, don't just get stuck in your own bubble and actually take time to observe what's going on around you! In the meantime, I plan to go to Inner Compass as often as I can for my ICB Beer Cheese Burgers and Hazy Boys! read more

The Server Double Dropped a bill. The red headed waitress charged me at first a $17.96 bill for the time I was on the patio. Just beer no food(I showed up late) The table decided to move into the bar area after the meal around 20 mins later after we had already closed all table bills. At the bar ,One gentleman in the group ordered 3 beers and pays cash. The red headed waitress then came over to the bar area after about another 15 mins had passed and said she didn't charge me so she placed a $24 tab to pay. I payed confusingly. As The Bar was closing the group left but before I left the parking lot I checked my banking statements. I Saw the double charge. Walked back in and told them there was a mistake. Their response was "our mistake. Let's correct it." Sound good so far, I even went as far as saying the 24$ tab was the mistake because the time stamp on the processing but the waitress came over and deliberately chose the higher amount to charge me because the tip was higher for her cash out. Attended a large women's dinner in the back room overlooking the pond. We were separated into 3 tables which was fine & the waitress did an amazing job in keeping track of 18 separate checks! Interior-wise it's very long & a large space. The outdoor area looks inviting. You can get HH at the tables - Yay! Started out with a martini & ordered the 6-piece wings as I wanted to do low-carb. I took a star off the review as practically all of the apps are fried or very fattening. Wish there were more healthier options. Some of the women at my table got salads & they seemed to enjoy them. One lady was there 2 days in a row & got the cheeseburger twice, that was how much she enjoyed it. The fries have a coating on them - would avoid ordering that. I have been to Inner Compass a couple of times when I'm in the area and have enjoyed my experience each time. A nice selection of beers that include a good amount of their own, as well as some guest taps. They have a nice German Lager, as well as Doc Brown (Brown Ale) What has set it over the top for me each time is my bartender/server, Jared. Jared is attentive, has a knowledge of all of the beers they have on draft, and does a great job ensuring that everyone is taken care of, which can be difficult when the bar is so long and there are so many patrons. Food: 10/10 Homemade dough which makes for a nice crispy crust. Pizza tasted fresh. I will have to come back for a red sauce pizza as their sauce is made in house as well. The food and beer are amazing. The service can be hit or miss, depending on how busy the restaurant is. We have noticed that the service really slows down when they get busy later in the day. They have started charging an extra fee for using credit cards. Why discourage the easiest way to pay for a meal. Seems silly to pick out one business expense to tack on an extra fee for. A great (not so) hidden gem! Stumbled upon this brewery and we were so pleasantly surprised and impressed. The inside is very spacious and they have a separate room you can rent out for events as well as an outside area. Usually there's live music on the weekends and I highly recommend grabbing a spot at the bar if you can find one! The bartenders are great and offer fantastic recommendations on some of their delicious beers. Attended tonight's (1-12-26) comedy program and was advised by their management to arrive 1 hour early for the best service. Service was under staffed and didn't attempt to service our group for 30 minutes after seating. Our group had to go to the bar for service. The comedy program room was fully occupied with very tight seating with the customers rearranging the tables and chairs to custom fit large groups. When our food order arrived, a beer spilled over because of the tight seating. The server asked the Manager ("Robert") to complementary replacement our Group's beer that spilled and he refused Claiming it was our fault. this establishment was poorly staffed for this event, too crowded and Management had no empathy towards their customers. Had a great first experience at Inner Compass Brewing (ICB). It was surprising as they have just opened so wasn't sure what to expect or if they had all the kinks worked out. I can say that the staff seemed friendly. The service was prompt. Lots of space in this location with some outdoor seating and there appeared to be a covered playground. Our food was good, they did ask how I wanted the burger cooked so it isn't a frozen patty. I am not sure if there is WiFi available for patrons as I didn't see a sign, but I would recommend it because our cell signal was not great and that is how we were checking the tap list. I was trying to state at the revolving board but then it was like staring at the guests at the bar as you are trying to peer over them. All in all, we will be back. read more

Had too high of expectations for this place. Good service, kind management, but the food was sub-par. We ordered two pizzas, two grouper sandwiches and a kids tenders and fries. First, the kids tenders and fries basket was super tiny. The lady said it came with 3 tenders and it only came with two and probably 8 fries total. Fries were good but my child was still hungry after their kids meal. The pizzas lacked flavor and crisp. They seemed undercooked. And the grouper sandwiches tasted good but they were thinner than pancakes! We ate outside when the sun was setting and got attacked by mosquitoes. I would invest in spraying the area before having guests outside. Our chips and beer cheese and cheese curds appetizers were the highlight of the night. Gotta work on the pizza flavor (the sauce and how it is cooked) and the portion sizes and then this place gets 5 stars easily. read more

We stopped in for a late lunch and chose Inner Compass based on their reviews. It did not disappoint. We had the vegetable pizza, homemade crust and just the right thickness with a crispy bottom. A grilled chicken sandwich, along with a Ha-z-boy Blood Orange beer. The beer was excellent. The service was great, we were well taken care of. What an exciting addition to our LWR community! This is a great spot to bring the entire family as they have a shaded covered playground outside with games and seating. Don't let the positive reviews fool you because it's probably friends and family! I went with 6 people the first time and 30+ the second time. We walked out disappointed twice! This place is super cute and has great potential. However, no one knows where it is. The service is lacking because they are understaffed. It is probably why their food is also so terrible. I've been twice because it's close to me hoping it would improve but the problem runs too deep. Their pricing is what I would expect at a nice fun bar with tons of people. The milk stout was a very tasty, lighter version of Guinness. Outstanding! Tried the veggie pizza and really enjoyed the ample toppings over a delicious and homemade pizza sauce. But the thin and crispy pizza crust was the star of the show. Very unique and really good. Burgers, fries, and buffalo wings were also great. The service was super friendly and attentive. This is our second time trying Inner Compass. First time wasn't spectacular, but we thought it was worthwhile to try again. The food is okay and drinks are good. The service is fine for the most part. Our server this last time was extremely inattentive. She stopped at our table a total of 3 times while we were there for almost an hour. The first was to say she was dropping something off and then would be back. The second was to greet us and grab our drink orders. The third was to get our food order. We prefaced that we were just getting an appetizer, not a big deal. She never came back after that. My husband and I finished our beers before we got our app and sat with them empty for probably 20+ minutes. I finished my water and that was empty for probably 15 minutes and had to share my husbands water since we couldn't even get a refill there. We watched our server walk past our table multiple times while everything was empty. At this point, we just wanted our check, which my husband had to get her attention to ask for it. It's just unacceptable for us to be sitting there with no service and have to track down our server. They weren't packed so there is zero excuse for it.
