My experiences at my last doctors office had all been incredibly frustrating & bad with the exception of NP Lauren Blitzer. Thanks to a helpful review under my previous doctors office, I was informed that Lauren had moved to this office and was able to follow her here. I have never received such compassionate & helpful care before in my life. Lauren Blizter is hands down the best NP I've ever seen. She is so warm, helpful, efficient, and has provided me with the best care I've ever received in a medical setting. I was sad to hear she was leaving this office but I will be staying because everyone in this building is also incredibly kind and helpful. I always feel seen, heard, and respected. I know that when I come here I will be treated right. To emphasize the level of care this office provides: During one appointment, I was sitting in their lobby waiting to be seen when I got the news that my dog had died. Embarrassingly, I was a mess and couldn't stop crying. Every person that interacted with me in the office was so sweet and understanding and went out of their way to comfort me. Dr. Paige especially was so incredibly kind & comforting. She told me about all of her dogs that she's loved & lost & let me know that they're up in doggy heaven waiting to welcome my pup & protect/look after him. A few days later, I received a card in the mail from Sun Lakes Family Physicians saying sorry for your loss. Everyone in the office signed it and left a heartfelt message. It truly meant the world to me. This is an office that genuinely cares about the wellbeing of their patients. I couldn't recommend it more. read more

I have been a patient with Sun Lakes Fam Physicians for over 10 years. I started with Dr. Paige, and he is just wonderful. He is friendly, knowledgeable, funny, and attentive. I've also been seeing Venecia Rayhons for the last 5-7 years, and she is awesome too. She truly listens to my concerns and is thorough. I appreciate that when I call for a prescription refill that her MA Dakota and her will take care of it same day if not the next day. I know they are incredibly busy but I truly have never felt like I wasn't taken care of or listened to here. The front office staff are welcoming and friendly, the wait times are not outrageous, and the billing team has never made an error in my time being seen here. Let me start by saying that this is the first time I have left a review so I apologize in advance for the length. I have been seeing Lauren Blitzer for approximately 3 years at another practice and I feel very fortunate to follow her to SLFP. I am almost 63 years old and have never been under the care of someone who is so kind, patient, considerate, efficient, and knowledgeable. In the time that she has been taking care of me, I have had heart & lung issues, Covid, RSV, kidney stones, TIAs and even dog bites...for starters. I had been experiencing chest pains and breathing issues for a while and she was the ONLY one who took this seriously. She referred me to a Cardiologist and electro cardiologist who ended up performing a life changing procedure on me. In general, I don't enjoy medical/doctor visits and the older I get, the more frequent they are. Not an issue with Lauren. I can't tell you the difference that she has made by listening and also being up-to-date and well-informed on current med issues. She is wonderful and exudes positivity and energy! She's very encouraging and takes time to understand what is going on physically, mentally and emotionally. She responds quickly with any requested info or questions no matter how busy she must be. She does this all while being a total professional. She is intelligent and funny so a medical visit with her is actually a pleasure! I think of her as a FRIEND who has and continues to help me through life's challenges. It is a tall order but she ALWAYS comes through. I am by no means a stalker but I would follow her anywhere she goes and there is no higher recommendation I could give! Lauren is amazing and she is an invaluable addition to this practice. Regarding the staff, I have visited this office about 3 times. They are always punctual and have my information ready for Lauren and her sidekick "Shotmaster" Daniel (another pro).They are friendly and professional whether in person or on the phone. very disappointed in the "patient care". i called with sinus infection symptoms. My left sinus cavity is so swollen my eye is swollen. Clearly this is allergy /sinus related. Yet they tell me I must go get a Covid test before they will see me. Worst patient care ever. Don't make the mistake I did thinking this place cares for patients. As it's not fair to rate the entire office for one bad seed, I must say I am truly sickened and saddened by today's visit. Nurse practitioner Venecia Rayhons has got to be hands down , the most unpleasant experience in ANY doctors office I have personally witnessed. I am thankful she is not one of the regular doctors because I would move my family to a different office in a heartbeat. If looks could kill, I'd be crucified. As a worried daughter I was shocked at our treatment today in office from Venecia. I had my concerns, as well as a few questions but was mainly there to assist my father as English is not his first language and to be his support. After 40 minutes waiting for her, she enters coldly and seemingly, annoyed off the bat. During her questioning and trying to guess what could be wrong, I mentioned a fear of mine and my mothers of what could be wrong with my father. She looked in the eyes for a few seconds, ignored me and continued on as if she couldn't believe how huge of an idiot and am. I understand I'm not a doctor and this question may have seemed stupid to her. I realize now, it was also very close to lunch time so perhaps she just really wanted to be on time for that.. There is no excuse. Extremely unprofessional. I had a couple follow up questions since she left a few things open ended , and she chose not to return my call all day. We were nothing but polite. She made my father feel like an inconvenience, and I hope he is never stuck with Venecia Rayhons again. I could cry at the thought of how the visit went. I took my 82 year young friend because she had a migraine. After waiting a while she had blood work taken and was sent home. They told her to go to Urgent Care the next day if she didn't feel better. Later that day, they prescribed Shingles medication for $30 and told her she had shingles, and not a migraine. This was WITHOUT the bloodwork being processed to make sure!!! Today my friend wanted to go to urgent care for migraine medicine. I decided to call Sun Lakes Family Physcians on her behalf. I am on the "green sheet" to discuss her well being. But they couldn't find my name and wouldn't discuss it with me. So now she doesn't have shingles (she knew that), still hasn't been prescribed migraine medicine, and they want to do a MRI. Why not just help her with the migraine she was complaining about? Blood test came back just fine... so why do a MRI as a first step? Crazy nurse practitioner who doesn't have a clue, that's why. And they milk the money from our Seniors. So please, go with your loved one inside the office. I waited outside thinking my friend was in capable hands. And now I've spent 2 hours on the phone trying to get her the migraine medicine she really needs. And not the $30 shingle medicine she prescribed without the blood results. So sad... don't waste your time going there. The staff doesn't have the knowledge or listening skills to help diagnosis a migraine over shingles... SAD, BUT TRUE. And who benefits from the $$$ of the MRI? The doctor's office who prescribed it gets a huge cut. I hope people know that scam. So, is that why Sun Lakes Family Practioners would rather my friend suffer from a migraine while she waits for her costly MRI? Your guess is as good as mine.... and I say "you betcha". UPDATE... I am taking her for a MRI now because Sun Lake Famiky Physcians refuse to prescribe medicine for something it isn't now. BUT, isn't that what they did yesterday with the $30 shingle medicine??? Too much!!! New Update... To ER now because MRI was too busy to take her for days. The Chandler ER is giving her an IV to help ease the migraine she has been diagnosed with. And without a MRI!!! Because they actually listened to her symptoms. The same information we tried to tell Dr. McDonald and her staff again today, but they refused to listen. And refused migraine medicine before the MRI results Imagine that Sun Lake Family Physcians. You age profile your patients instead of actually listening to their symptoms.... I have only had one issue at this doctors office and that was with a lady at the front desk. I reported the issue and it was resolved. My doctor is awesome(Dr. Kenneth Paige). Everyone seems to be caring. Sometimes things get busy in a doctors office that might make you wait longer, but when you get in you have your time also. Excellent Health care This is a family practice but the cater mostly to geriatric patients, but they are skilled in everything your family needs. Most of your lab work can be done in house at most times sames day (no appointment/copay). The PA and NP's are excellent and you will not see a big difference in care. This is a large practice and very busy, but you will not feel rushed when you get your time with the health professionals. They try to do as much care as they can for patients rather than making you see a specialist, but they know when referrals are needed. read more

Dr. Roger Rose was the doctor I've seen here. He was good initially and helped me with a big problem I had. Later, even after he treated me for 2 issues, he told me to see specialists. Why? I don't need a diagnosis when I just needed refills. The billing clerk and manager are very unprofessional people. They coded a bill of mine with the wrong code, and refused to change it while billing me instead. While talking to them on the phone about it, I got lectured by the billing manager. They would rather make me wrong than get paid. So be it. They will not get paid by me. Now they threaten collections when my insurance agrees with me that they should just re-code that bill. I've filed grievances against them. Stay away unless you like getting screwed over. read more

Left work early Wednesday because I was doubled over with excruciating pain in my stomach after eating half of an Orange. I made it home and stayed in bed praying for it to pass. However, my digestive system hasn't been right since. I have no appetite and still in pain, but it's not as intense. Concerned that I'll have another episode. I decided to call an make a Doctor's appointment only to be told, because I HAD a past due bill of $83 from a previous visit (which has been paid) I can no longer be seen by Dr. Roger Rose (yes, that's his name). I said, "What the Hell???" So, I proceeded to let them know, that I will be coming to collect ALL my medical records!!!! I have health insurance through my employer, that's not the problem, it's the principal. The bill wasn't years old, but rather some months old, not a year, but they chose to drop me over $83, not $8,300 but $83, which they've received!!! What a FIASCO! What is the world coming to! Avoid Sun Lakes Family Physicians, Sun Lakes, AZ. They don't deserve your money!! I could go on, but I'll leave it right here! I am new to the area and needed a physical. I am terribly disappointed in the whole set up of how Unprofessional this clinic is run! From the front desk clerk being loud and no privacy with checking in and lack of appointment-on their computer of the scheduled time whenI called in previously! But, then told I was "lucky" because That appt. time is still open! Then when I got back In the exam room, waited forever for Venecia Rayhon to come in - 20 minutes after my scheduled time. I stepped into hallway thinking they forgot about me and there she stood laughing and joking around with the nurses. Came in a couple of minutes later very cold personality- seemed annoyed and said she did not have a lot of time due to having to pick up her children. Told me that twice!I had a scheduled appointment for this time! Told me to take tyneol and if I had problems go to the ER! Never again will I be seen by her! She is a detriment for this whole clinic! Don't go here. They schedule appointments and when you get there, they don't have you in their calendar. The office manager Lori has no customer service skills. They don't resolve issues with a satisfactory solution, they resolve it at YOUR expense. Your time is worth nothing to them. They are always late seeing patients and make you wait for long periods of time. Don't waste your time here. The only thing going for this low tech office is the doctors and nurse practitioner are good but the office is run inefficiently. They also make coding errors and any mistakes made on their part is always going to be YOUR PROBLEM!!! read more

One would think that a family physician's office would have better customer service skills, especially the office manager. I think her name is Lori and she was not only rude to my son and I but she yells at employees in front of patients. She was rude and disrespectful to a couple of the girls there. I don't know how they work for her. I wasn't impressed and will be looking for another office for our family. You don't act like that to our employees. LOVE the doc's and front staff, but have had a problem with billing and office manager. a wrong code was put on our insurance papers and we have been billed for the entire bill. insurance won't pay until the code is corrected. We have stopped into the office twice and phoned [10] times. Our insurance co. has also phoned for a conference call us and them, [4] times. Billing said only the office mgr can correct . We understand her name is Lori and I truly believe she should give up her job to someone who can return calls and respond to her patients, since we are the true payers of her salary.We have ins to pay and it can only be accomplished if the Doctors office corrects the code.Thanks, Lori for being so useless. read more
