I am rating them poorly due to inability to service me on a walk in basis. Their door advises walk ins are welcome. When I walked in at 9:15 am on a Thursday morning they asked me if I could come back in an hour. The sign in sheet showed only people with appointments. I signed in and came back at the time they indicated but sat for 15 min without anyone noticing I was there. More customers came and went. I went to the front to check on status and told I had to wait longer. I told them this was poor customer service and I left. So... don't try a same day appointment. I specifically told the guy I like them to be thin and natural looking. He seemed to take his time when forming the name shape but when he added more acrylic it went south. They look grown out already. They are bumpy and the paint job is all over the place. He couldn't even take the paint off the side of my finger just let me leave with it there for me to pick off. I'm sorry but if I'm gonna pay 35$ for a fill in they need to do better. read more

The shop is very clean I thought I was going to get the best pedicure I have had as far as Carbondale goes. Wrong, my toes were painted so sloppily it looked like a kid did them. I went back to have them repaired which to me means remove the polish and repaint them because they are uneven and messy. No the same guy that painted them sloppy the day before continues to just paint over the toes. I don't have the energy to argue the way I wanted so I just told him to stop and got up and left. I will get them redone elsewhere and be encouraging everyone I know in Carbondale to spend their money there. If you value quality work do not come here. read more

I have never been to a nail place that had such a disregard for the customer and the quest for repeat business. I thought my cuticles were being trimmed our whatever but whenever I removed the polish I found out that a dremel had been used and all my nails were etched in a semi circle and will have to grow out of their defective etching, I have an absolute groove on all of my nails. What a disgrace. I will never be back and cannot recommend this place at all. read more

I want to start by saying I have had a very good experience with this place prior to this experience, so it definitely depends on who you get. I suggest making an appointment. Do not attempt to walk-in on a Friday and not expect to be there for over 3 hours. That was definitely a mistake on my part. I would have been completely ok with waiting if I had a good experience. However, that was not the case. The guy who did my nails started by cutting my toe during the pedicure and didn't bother to cut out my ingrown nails like others have done in the past. Then, when he was working on my finger nails he cut me again. On top of that he didn't cover my nails with polish. The sides of some of them are still bare. In addition, the dipped polish that they use is not as thick as another place I've been to, which is very unfortunate for me because I have very thin nails. Again, this is nothing against the business itself I just think they need to do something to prevent their workers from getting so tired and sloppy. read more

Worst fill ever! The guy asked me what kind of polish I had on. I took the bottle out of my purse and said this bottle. He said what kind of polish? He should have been able to tell just by looking at the bottle, not a good sign. He then took off my old polish and left smears around my fingers, fill was very uneven, he nicked my cuticle. Did not clean under my nails, only made one pass over the nail to smooth. After washing my hands I asked how much? He said $25, I replied for a fill? I usually pay $18. Then he started to put color on and I made him clean the old smears off first. He had bits of cotton fuzz stuck in the polish and and didn't paint the tip edge. SMH ‍ needless to say no tip for a lousy job! read more

This place was terrible. I got a pedicure and not only was their prices outrageous but the man who did my pedicure scraped my feet till they were bleeding and when I asked him to stop he just laughed. I don't think I should have had to pay $30 to have my feet bleed and get laughed at. And they did a mediocre job at best. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

My regular nail salon was very busy today so I figured I would try Sun nails I thought they were rude and didn't do a very good job.

Mimi was wonderful, did a great job on my nails and she was very sweet. Will be back and will ask to see her again. Next time pedicure!!

I don't know if the people here are prejudice or what but every time I come here I have a horrible experience. I'm so ashamed of how my nails look I can't believe they charged me 30 for messing my nails up! And while the guy was doing my nails he kept filing them wrong and when I asked him to fix it he made it worse. He kept filing my damn finger causing me to be in pain then made the comment "well at least I didn't cut you" like really? Is that funny? Because I didn't think it was at all. If I could rate this place lower I would. Don't even waste your money here because if you're a person of color they pass you off to someone who doesn't know what they're doing even if you're the first person to come in! read more

I had my pedi and mani at Sun Nails yesterday (on June 9, 2015).I will not go back to this place. The polish on my toes looks like this: It's on my toes, it's uneven on my nails, it has bubbles. My toe nails used to be nicely shaped. Now they look butchered. I wanted to wear open toe shoes this summer. Now I have to wait until my toe nails grow back so I can reshape them. Right now I am embarrassed to wear anything but sneakers. I also had a French mani. The French mani is uneven, already cracking, and it is full of little bubbles. Also, I ordered a manicure without hot stone massage. All of the sudden the guy put the hot stones in my hands. They were really hot. I pulled my hands back and said "ouch!" He started laughing. No, not funny when you hurt someone. I asked him why he is doing hot stones. He said that's part of my manicure. I said I do not think so. I did not order a mani that costs $28. I ordered a mani that costs $18. I spent $64 there (no, I did not even get acrylic or gel!!!). Very unhappy. I wish I could post pictures here of the job that was done there. I took pictures as soon as I got home. Very, very sad. On top of that, the guy Mike, who did my mani and pedi, was talking on the phone in Vietnamese for about 20-25 minutes while doing my pedi. He was checking his text messages while doing my mani. I found that and his ripped jeans to be very unprofessional. read more
