I came here during a spring break special where you caN get a free spray tan. I'm not sure if it was because I came on the last day of the special but the wait was long. About 50min - an hour after checking in and signing all the waivers. From what I was told there's no making appointments and they only have one spray tan booth (but they do have multiple tanning beds) so if you come during a busy time, be prepared to wait. The girls at the front were very nice and helpful. The spray tan booth is very easy to use. You can play a short instruction video too in case you need more guidance. They provide you with a towel and hair net but I would bring your own towel and any other accessories. Over all the praying is about 10 minutes start to finishes. I ended up going with the medium tan that develops in 4-6 hours. The medium tan is actually *very* dark. Unfortunately it's also very orange. I do hope they can improve on the formula they use because a lot of the home self tanning kits I use don't leave me as orange. The tan lasted in its full effect for about a week as promised and leaves a light glow for about another week after on me. TLDR: clean, great service, easy to use, tan lasts long but the formula is orangy. read more

The tanning beds and overall place are not bad, but the customer service really needs improvement. Staff seemed uninterested and not really welcoming, which effect the whole experience. Considering the prices are on the higher side, the level of service should be much better. read more

I froze my membership and on November 1, they automatically charged by credit card for the $79.99 without my permission. I was out of town and didnt make it to the salon till 11/16 - my month ends 11/30 so that would give me 2 tans, since i tan on the weekends for $79.99 - When i went to the salon, they could not make my month from 11-16 to 12-16. The chat stinks on line and there was nothing this salon could do for me. I will not be going back there again read more

I've been going here for years. I pay for the highest bed the "instant" tanning bed. Well my account was frozen October-April & of course I lost my tan in that time. Came back and tanned in the highest bed for a week straight with no results or Change in color. Well the bed under me (that costs less) i was told had new bulbs. So I tan in that bed and start showing results in the first day. At this point now I'm really upset that I pay the higher price and the bed doesn't even work! They need new bulbs in their instant beds but they're just waiting for someone To say something I guess. Could have saved a pretty penny and tanned in the cheaper bed with better results. I came here for a spray tan and let me just start out by saying that in the room they had no barrier cream, wipes, or feet stickers. I came out of the booth and I could tell right away that it was spotty and runny. I let it dry over night and woke up with an uneven, blotchy, spotty tan. I took a shower and tried to scrub it off and my hands were left awful. I was embarrassed to go outside. I do not recommend this to ANYONE. If I could give it negative stars I would. read more

Nice looking salon and good bed selection, BUT... 1) the girl at the front desk wasn't knowledgeable. She recommended the most HARMFUL way for me to tan! I asked for one of those big beds that you do not need to tan often as I do not plan to come often and want to build my tan gradually. Even though I explained I don't tan and I'm pale, she recommended the Most Intense bed with the Max 12min time AND mentioned that the lamps were New. Is she crazy???!!!!! I asked for waaaay less. She said how about 10. I said no and by now I'm wasn't feeling safe at this place... We compromised on 8min, but I wasn't going to lay there that entire time bc I was afraid to burn. 2)the price for one session was $34 plus the cost of a lotion. I know that as a new customer they offer deals. I asked 3 times for a better deal or a coupon as $40+ for a first time customer and one time tan session sounds like a lot. and only then she "suddenly" remembered that they actually have a coupon: two tans for $10. By now I'm frustrated with her.... 3)soon after the bed turned on I felt discomfort on my legs and my back. My legs and my back started feeling like burning. I didn't finish my session bc I was afraid to get burned so I jumped out. I have never felt such heat from a tanning bed. Not safe!!! I've just recently signed up here about a month ago. The service is great and friendly staff and it's close to where I live......But the level one beds aren't the best. If you want to get any color you have to do the higher bed memberships which are more expensive then other places that I've gone too. The lobby music is always really low and this is the first tanning place I've been to that doesn't have music in the beds. read more

This tanning salon is clean and convenient location on grant ave... Also good very sweet and friendly staff (with the exception of one girl but have not seen her there recently)...my only complaint is that the bulbs at this location SUCK! PLEASE GET NEW BULBS IN YOUR BEDS! You can definitely tell the difference between the old bulbs here on grant ave versus the NEW bulbs in Manayunk on Ridge ave...I often drive out of my way to go to the Manayunk location since the grant ave location is a waste if time since you won't get tan. read more

The girls that were working absolutely wonderful tonight. I came in 5 minutes before close, and they were extremely accommodating and friendly, despite it being the end of a long shift, on a late, rainy December night. They did not make me feel rushed at all! Overall I had a great experience! This is now my favorite tanning salon. It has the best beds, awesome deals, late hours, friendly staff, and it's clean! I love this sun tan city! Marissa (she's in charge here I believe she said store director) was so kind and took my prior Yelp review in consideration. I have been here 3 times and also to the other location in Philly. This is by far the better location. The little bit of the extra drive is worth it, their spray tan machine is more updated and works the best in my opinion. Anyways the staff was friendly and Marissa helped resolve my issue. I've worked in a tanning salon that my now hubby used to own. It's actually where we met in college. So I'm pretty picky and this place is pretty good. I don't normally like chain places be aide I like that cozy, I remember your name, let's chat places which is the type of place I worked at in the city but this place is Very clean which is a must. The staff are younger which is to be expected and somewhat knowledgeable. Marissa is a rock star. You can tell she's been here awhile and runs the place for the most part. They offer a few different types of beds and booths including stand up. Bed are always freezing cold though. Whah. They also offer a spray tan machine. Their lotions are good. They give you a key tag and require a fingerprint to Check in which is smart on their part and also requires you to show protective eye gear upon entering which I'm noticing the newer girls don't always or ever ask for. I keep it in my purse in case. Never a wait. Prices are reasonable with upgrade options. You can also freeze your account for $5 a month which you get back into your account when you unfreeze which is a nice option. Located near my gym which for me, tanning and gym have always home hand in hand. You could actually enjoy a nice full day of pamper ring right here on Grant Ave. Who would have thought. Hit up the gym, get your hair done at Norman Dee, eat a healthy, low cal lunch at that 500 calorie below place, tan them get a massage at Hand and Stone. Sounds good to me. -1 stars because I think every tanning salon should have hand airbrushing. I like it way better than a machine and it would cost much for them to get a machine and train. Their machine is very easy to use however. Even glow. It's tells you exactly where to stand and what to do. And dries with a nice blast of warm air which is nice because the spray like all sprays comes about a bit cold. I went here today to use the last session of a pack that I bought to use all the different beds (tour of the city I think it was called). I arrived there and the girl at the front desk was very nice. The problem came when I got assigned in sun bed #17. After 2 min inside the bed I started feeling that my whole back was burning. The surface of the bed was extremely hot! I complained after my session to the girl, but nothing else happened. I arrived home and found that part of my back is destroyed!! I am a naturally tan person, and I never get sunburned. I have been here several times - I have even used the instant machine at maximum time - and never got burnt before. This machine today had a problem of temperature regulation, it was like a stove!! Very disappointed, I do not feel safe anymore with this establishment. read more

So I normally don't do this but Iv been tanning here for about a year I canceled my membership and now I wanna reopen my account . So I went there the other night and the assistant mamanger was working I can't remeber her name but she was so rude and disrespectful! I asked her simple questions about the account and different memberships . She gave me a huge attitude and wasn't very helpful !! So I decided to do a single session in the fastest bed it was dirty because somebody just got done so she went to clean it ! She sends me back and I ask her can I listen to music in this bed she turned around and said no you cannot any other questions ?( but with a attitude) so I went into room 3 I put my lotion on and go to lay in the bed I turn it on and all I see are finger prints and some sort of lotion on the top of the bed ! It was so disgusting!! So I hop out and let the assistant manager know that she has been really rude and the bed is still dirty she denied it and told me they are stains so I myself took a towel and the cleaning spray and wiped it down . She looked at me as if I was crazy ! After this experience I'm not sure if I'll ever go back unless this manager is gone !! read more

was trying to compare pricing at a few different tanning salons in the area. The first salon took me on a tour and went over each of their levels they offered. I had heard negative things about the tannery club (previous name) which only lasted about a year over there, but thought that since it was under new ownership that improvements had been made. The store is impressive but incredibly dirty. I asked for the girls to show me around but they seemed annoyed. There were 4 people working at once so I don't understand why they couldn't show better service. Will not be returning. read more
