I came across this salon thru Yelp and after seeing some of the photos I figure this would be a cold place to do hair color for the first time. Once arrived there (February) I notice two young girls working. Also notice the sailing still had all the Xmas decorations till up with the Xmas tree. Don't know but I feel that your sailing is a reflection of you and for some reason It just felt off for me. I showed them what I wanted, I have a dark base hair and just wanted to have chocolate hair . The other girl who was not dealing with my hair came in and said well for what you want you gotta bleach your whole hair. I am not hair expert but talking to other stylist there was not need to bleach the hair . After that she brought the color book to choose tones again the other girl Interrupted by saying look we can't choose or you you need to choose what you want. I just felt so i cared for and this girl who was doing my hair was just falling every word of this other stylist . It was all rushed. She proceed to bleach my hair . She kept repeating she was messy. And let me tell you I don't know how many times bleach felt on my face, body, phone , I mean just all over. After she took the bleach off she but the gloss. When she started to dry it the hair looked like grass I mean the texture of the hair wa alike nothing I have seen before and the color looked yellow which was one of the things I told her I didn't want. The other girl again interrupted saying well I like it. Again this is not about YOU is about what your client wants and make them feel happy with their look. She but another gloss to tone down how yellow the hair looked. The hair drying techniques were just poor . With the corner of my eye I saw how burned the ends looked. I started to panicked and I just got silent and quite. Being a non confrontational person. She started cutting the ends after she already had cut them twice and I knew it was just not looking good. When she turned me and saw the end results I was horrified. She then proceeded to take photos and when I saw them I was like how can you not see how horrible it looks. The hair on the top was sooooo freeze she left I don't know how many patches of hair uncurled. They charge me $150!!!! I left the salon crying. All three girls in the sailing including her started mumbling didn't even bother asking or addressing the situation. It was the most awkward and horrible situation I have ever been. But don't take my word see the photos. Then you tell me if this was a job worth $150 without even an apology. I got home couldn't stop crying when my husband arrived he just stood quite until he saw me turn around and said "what the hell you have on the back do your back and proceeded to out his hand to pull something out. I followed up multiple times, and the owner never responded to my emails. When I called to ask about the refund, I spoke with a woman named Dana. Instead of helping resolve the issue, she was extremely rude, called me a liar, and spoke down to me over the phone. I have never felt so disrespected as a customer. The way I was treated was completely unacceptable. I do want to say that the younger girls who work at the front desk have always been kind, helpful, and professional. They were never the problem, and I don't want my experience with management to reflect poorly on them. The tanning beds are also not well maintained. In my experience, more than half the time I visited, at least one bulb in the bed I used was burned out, and there were also times when entire beds were out of service. Between being charged after canceling my membership, not receiving the refund I was promised, the lack of response from management, and the way I was treated when I tried to resolve the issue, I cannot recommend spending your money here.

I was one of the first customers (without an appointment) and they took me right away. My nail technician was Heidi. She took care of me the first time I visited, so I requested her again. Eminence Nail Bar has an insane amount of colors to choose from. I don't think I've ever been to a nail salon that had more than one basket of colors. Pedicure chairs are comfortable and offer massage. What really stuck out to me was the level of customer service provided. While your nails cure under the UV light, the nail tech comes around and gives you a shoulder/neck massage. Super relaxing. Another thing that I have NEVER gotten from another nail salon is a paraffin wax hand mask. They dunk your hands in the wax 3 times, and then your hands get wrapped with plastic wrap. You wait 5-10 minutes and they remove the plastic wrap. The paraffin wax slides right off your hands like a glove! I was so fascinated by the whole process, and the best part is it makes your hands feel extremely soft. Like a baby's bum! LOVED IT! Prices are fair. I believe it was $45 for both. I may be wrong, but I feel as though they have a cash special if you pay with cash instead of card. Definitely worth asking about. Will be back again to see Heidi the next time I'm in the area.

For an FYI: Many salons if not other businesses prefer you screenshot the deal and then match the price. This saves them from paying out a major percentage of the deal o Groupon. About a week after buying the deal, I called to schedule the appointment. I liked that their timings were pretty flexible. They will take appointments every day of the week, until about 7 or 7:30. As a working person with a somewhat unpredictable schedule, I liked this. My voucher included a lash extension installation with a 2-week fill. I scheduled my first appointment for a Sunday at 5PM. The spa sends text reminders for appointments that you've booked. The one thing I disliked is that the salon tried to push the time earlier than scheduled in the day of the actual appointment. I had other plans, but I was able to compromise and move it one hour earlier. As soon as I got to the salon, they were ready to start my appointment. Like many other lash extension Groupons, there are always options to upgrade the lash types/styles and simply pay the difference from the base cost. Because I am someone who likes pretty dramatic extensions, I opted in to upgrade two levels up from the base lashes. This brought me up to the "Volume" style. The lash tiers go as follows: Natural, Hybrid, Volume, Mega Volume. The additional money you pay is the cost of your lash tier minus the price for the "Natural" style. My appointment took about 2 hours. This is typical for getting a full set installation. After completing my appointment and drying the glue, my technician asked if she can use my lashes for photo/video content. I agreed and appreciate the fact that she asked. The one thing I will note is that the glue they used stung my eyes a little more than usual, but the feeling of irritation went away after about 20 minutes. While this may scare some people, it's typical that most extension glues will sting a bit during your first fill. These glues tend to have higher alcohol content. This is why they do have customers sign waivers before appointments. Once I was on my way out of my first appointment, I booked my refill timing. Most salons, including Viva, require this to be within two weeks of the first fill. Otherwise, they will charge an additional cost. I liked that Viva was flexible in allowing a few days of leeway, as I booked my fill two days after the exact two week timing. To me, retention and quality are the most important for lash extensions. I was extremely impressed with the retention. I happened to go to a much more expensive privately-run studio a few months ago, and the retention was awful. In addition to the retention, I liked the style and feel of the lashes. They didn't feel extremely cheap or plastic-like. I came in for my refill on a weekday evening. I happened to stop in the restroom before my appointment. I was very happy to see how clean and tidy it was. I definitely noticed the cleanliness of this spa throughout the whole place. The refill took just under 2 hours. While this may seem long to some, I was happy that they put the time, precision, and attention to giving me a full fill. I paid my refill up charge for my "Volume" lash and tipped, and I haven't rescheduled since. That's mostly just to not get super costly in my lash habit. Overall, I like this place a lot. While the staff doesn't speak the best English, they are still able to communicate the necessary information and questions. They're also very attentive, clean, and tidy. I would definitely recommend this place to others and go back myself in the future.
