What a great experience I have had being a client of Sun Works Tanning. First the staff is knowledgable and customer focused. Secondly the equipment is state of the art and I am able to fully utilize the benefits of each of the different treatments because of the wonderful explanations of each of these by the staff. I was always a tan and go client until I came to understand the way to manage the equipment to the betterment of both my appearance as well as my health. This is the WORST tanning salon you will EVER visit. Not only is the staff completely clueless and rude they will rip you off in a heartbeat. If you buy one of the packages that supposedly never expires, wait a few months in between visits and your remaining visits will "mysteriously" disappear. This happened to me on 3 different occasions. They are basically taking away what you have paid for and getting away with it. When I called the last girl out on it her response pretty much summed it up. "I'm clueless because I wasn't here when you had your last visit." SMH!! read more

I actually like this place a lot! The girl who helped me at the front was super nice and got me set up pretty quickly. They were busy, so I had to wait a couple minutes, but the beds were clean and had new bulbs. I got a monthly tanning option which was super reasonable and plan on going most days this month preparing for my trip to Hawaii! So ya, local, friendly, efficient and affordable! Sunworks is the place to go if you want to get ready for summer. They offer different levels of tanning and their equipment is superbly maintained. I've been an on and off member since 2012, between the Pasadena and Glendale locations. I will usually get the unlimited one month. Which I did this time, I knew that I wasn't going to start tanning right away so I wanted to make sure that if I paid in advance that it wouldn't start until my first day tanning. I was told that exactly, my membership will not start until I physically start tanning. Not the case. I went in a couple days ago to be told by someone else that their system doesn't work that way. Long story short, I wasted $55. I don't think I'll be returning to the company after that. Wrongful information, unknowledgeable staff. Now not where I wanted to be for my event of the 16th of this month so ‍ would give zero stars if I could. read more

I called as a potential new client to get some more information on tanning and it's benefits to eczema as recommended to try by my doctor. The woman who answered was extremely rude and offered no help or information on any of the tanning services they provide AT ALL despite the fact that on their website, they clearly suggest red light therapy that they provide for many treatments including ECZEMA. She offered NO help at all and acted completely and totally annoyed that she had to answer the phone. I was only given one word answers. You just lost a potential client. read more

Im not giving one star to the overall business I'm giving one star to a specific worker. When I first start going I was greeted by a young vibrant girl who was extremely friendly and seemed to really enjoy her job. She was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of my questions. I ended up getting the Sun Board tan which was suppose to be the best they had to offer (I love it by the way). She even remembered my name when I came back a few days later so overall she's amazing! If the owner sees this I believe she was working April 2 between 11am-3pm I went somewhere around that time. Now fast forward to April 6 I went in between 12pm-2 and there was a pretty rude staff member. I walk in there was no hello, hi, nothing. Just eyes on the computer. I get it we're busy sometimes but it was completely dead in the store and I've worked in customer service 9+ years and no matter how busy I am, when I see a new customer, I always make quick eye contact to greet them ( WITH A SMILE!) and let them know that I'd be right with them. She did no such thing. So since there was awkward silence I proceeded to tell her hello and my name and she says with a dry attitude to wait (Hell for all I know she could have been on Facebook). When she was finished she looked my name up and and told me that the Only machine available was the matrix and that the other was booked by appointments....all day. (That's Bullshit). I guess a bunch of Casper's set appointments cause from what I saw it was a ghost store. There was another person in the Sun Board machine and I would have happily waited because I had to the first time with the vibrant young lady. I just think this lady was lazy and didn't want to do her job hell when I came out there was no one using the machine and there's was a man who was curious about tanning and she was sitting down trying to explain to him. She really needs to be reviewed because I showed signs of wanting my teeth whitened and trying out the red-light therapy and even buying some lotion but she was busy not enjoying her job. I don't care what kind of day someone is having if it's that serious where you have to be rude to customers then stay your ass at home! End Rant. read more

AWESOMEEEE Place! Very clean. The prices were decent!! Every sunday they have 1/2 off specials for any beds or spray tans..Customer Service was GREAT! The girl that was at the front i think her name was Suzy she was WONDERFUL and KNOWLEDGEABLE. of the products and what fit me and my skin type. She showed me all the beds and recommended to do one of the best one which was the MATRIX.. I LOVED it..I got dark very quick. This was my third time having an airbrush tan with Evette. She knows her art of airbrushing. If you have a special event coming up and you want to look like you just spent the week in Hawaii, this is the way to go. Very beautiful and subtle results....no orange undertones...not smelly, just great bronze healthy skin. Lasts about a week and gradually washes away and doesn't come off on your clothes. Each time I've done this tan I receive so many compliments. Evette sprays you first with a conditioning and then sprays the color, then dries it. It doesn't dry out the skin. Very nice product. When you shower just pat dry, don't rub. Airbrushing is so even and natural looking. You need to call at least a day in advance to make an appointment with Evette for this as she comes in to do this as requested. Try it, you won't be disappointed. Sunworks is very conveniently located and has plenty of parking, on the street and a parking lot in the back. It is a very clean facility. Check it out!! read more

So, I have been a customer here for 3 years strong. No longer, after tonights experience I will not send another dime of mine their way.I drive from San Dimas to Pasadena just for the quality of this facility, which has noticeably been declining. I called at 3 today to book an appointment at 9pm, since they are open until 10pm. We leave for vacation tomorrow am and I needed some color. So I show up at 8:55pm to a locked door and a red head packing up her purse. She looks at me and tells me they are closed. I look at her and say I have an appointment at 9pm. She then proceeds to tell me that she is really sick and needs to go home....which, on a normal day, I would buy. The problem is nobody CALLED this loyal customer who has come from far away for years to let her know this!!!! This was my last session in the (expensive!!) package I bought. When the customer service didn't BLOW the prices were worth it. If you plan to have a Tanning session late night or early morning, don't count on someone being there! This is not the first time!! Fed up!! No sand tan happened to * actually be open* with actual * smiling friendly faces* so I spent money I was not planning to spend at their facility. Sunworks has lost a customer and I will be sure to inform all of my lady friends who visit their facility and introduced me to this place not to return. read more
