First of all, the lone 1 star review is trippin'. I know who they are and they have constantly been rude and entitled to staff for no real reason other than they're just miserable. Ignore their review. Moving right along... I have seen A LOT of dentists in my lifetime and it's been at least 15 years since I actually had a GOOD dentist. Everyone since that has royally messed up my teeth and done shotty work and were rough as heck. I had lost faith in dentists and began avoiding them. But my most recent crown came unsealed (thanks to my last nepo dentist) and I had no choice. So I looked around and found Beams. They had decent reviews so I thought fine. I am SO glad I chose Beams!!! Dr. Kimi is AWESOME!!!!! She is so very kind, patient, and most importantly does AMAZING work!!! She is super gentle and she always answers my annoyingly curious questions. The hygienists are also all so very kind and friendly also patient and willing to answer questions. And the staff is so very welcoming! They remembered who I was after the first visit and greeted me by name when I came in for my second visit. Everyone is so beyond warm and welcoming and it feels like the old days where the dentist felt like family. They also have state of the art technology like this contraption that scans of your mouth and creates 3D renders of your teeth and everything going on in them and the dentist can mess with the images on a touch screen. Like what?!?! I'd never ever seen anything like that! I have now been to Beams several times and I never leave disappointed. I absolutely LOVE it here. OH and I also love how you can communicate through text! I rarely have time to make or take calls these days so text is beyond convenient and the way of the modern world. Honestly, the only negative mark towards Beams is their non-mobile friendly website . PLEASE update the website! lol. I need extensive work due to wearing out my teeth by grinding at night when I realized and bought guard too late. The cost is astronomical for this all tooth crowned . I went through 3 dentist . and realized this is the type of care i've needed all along I have never been treated and cared for by everyone there from Dentist to bill and reception as this office. The business end is run with great efficiency and individual concern by one daughter, Karen, while the other daughter, Dr. Jill functions as the 'dentist of record' in the office since their father, who had functioned in that capacity, Dr. James Beams, recently passed away, a great loss to all. Like most people, I have never looked forward to visits to the dentist, but the Beams make it so pleasant, I now look forward to going if only to visit with them and their well-trained, gentle staff, before they stuff my mouth with cotton and the suction tip, and begin scraping away my 6 months of tartar build up (which with their advice is getting to be less and less each visit). They have stringent COVID19 procedures in place to protect their patients, which I really appreciate. The receptionists are adorable and warm (even though I couldn't see their smiles). They are nice and fancy but they make you pay for it. They are unwilling to work with their customers on payment plans and instead refer you to dental credit card companies with high interest rates. That shows me its all about the money, not about helping people with their teeth. If you are looking for a dentist that will work with you... Go somewhere else. The way they operate is "all or nothing" unwilling to do partial work like put in a temp crown until a permanent one can be afforded. I have had quite a bit of dental work done in the past and never had such a instance where they were unwilling to work with me. They understand that charging $2000 for a root canal and a crown is a little steep for the average adult to afford without saving up some money. That's over what I make in a month! Also its ridiculous to charge $2000 for that to begin with! Most of my family goes over to Arizona where a root canal is $180 with a crown. These people here can EAD. I'll be going elsewhere! In short, If your wealthy and want to pay out the rear for services, come here. If your an average American that needs to catch up on bills and eat, look elsewhere. read more

My family and I have been going to Beams Dental Care since my children were 3 years old which would be 17 years now. When we first starting going there, the office was located right smack dab in the hood. However, they were always so wonderful. Since then, they have moved to their location near Koreana Market off of Olson Drive. I have noticed that as the years go by, they have gone from caring about you as a family member to how much can I get out of your insurance company. This has really saddened me terribly. I have spoken with some of their other patients who have noticed the same thing and left to find another dentist. In a world that has so many dentist to choose from, its sad that this one has truly changed their philosophy to one of greed rather than the fun, family environment they used to show so well. I can remember Dr. Jill and Lori as children running around the office when I was seeing their dad for my teeth and my children's teeth. Jill took over her dad's practice and Lori is the best receptionist ever. So yeah I still go there and love them. The staff is wonderful. They all make me feel at home there. I see Kristen for teeth cleaning. I love her stories about the kids, garden, and camping trips. Makes the time fly. Anyway thing is this is about my 20 year old granddaughter who I talked into going there. At 19 she had 14 cavities. She had a lot done last year until insurance ran out. This year she finally went back. She called yesterday after her appointment no text called which is big. She raved and raved about Dr. Jill. Dr Jill went on and on about how proud she was that Bailey came back and how good she could see Bailey was trying. She filled Bailey with confidence and pride. They have plan now and Bay is so relieved she went. I also want add when Dr Jill numbs you I never even feel the shot Bailey either. Their office is very nice free coffee and bottles of water. Place for kids to play. A big bathroom with hand towels in a basket who does that. If dread the dentist, I would suggest you give them a try. You will not be sorry. Horrible experience with this dental office. They pre-billed my insurance prior to work being completed. Referred me to out for the root canal costing almost $1300. After my root canal was completed, I then learned that of course only $200 bucks of my annual allotment from delta dental was left but the dentist Beams referred me to had one of the highest prices in town! So of course with the huge out of pocket expense to complete the permanent crown was going to take a little saving of $$$. I found another dental office that was lovely and charged almost 40% LESS for major dental work. Long story short, the new dental office called to verify coverage only to find Beams Dental Care had already billed for a completed crown on the tooth that clearly still had a temporary. So now I am submitting a claim with my insurance, delta dental to figure how to resolve this. Once work is "on file" with the insurance company they will not allow further work on that tooth for a duration of time. They think I have a crown that should last over 5 years in my mouth, but truly have a temporary filling still from after the root canal. After several attempts to rectify this matter with Beams Dental, I've come to the conclusion that their services are about billing your insurance company as soon as possible and maximizing profit with what your annual allowance is. The dentists were very nice. I was. Very upset when it came down to the billing aspect of things their office was so unwilling to this out. Word of advice.... Get estimates prior to having major dental work done! Most places can give you prices over the phone if you know exactly what needs to be done! Update 12/26/12: the only solution they are giving is to return to Beams Dental for the work to be completed. The refused a refund to take our business else where to get the crown on that they got paid as a complete job but my husband is still wearing a temporary. Unbelievable!!! read more

A second opinion concluded my teeth are in great shape and I paid $49. Plus, visit was worst experience with dentist, ever. Exam was painful and questionnaires were invasive. Not sure why the negative reviews about this place, they do a great job & their customer service is on point. I see a few people complaining about the insurance & feel this place is trying to "Max out there Insurance" maybe I'm wrong, but don't you think you should max out your dental insurance? Not like you're helping your Insurance company by not using it. They're not going to say "oh Jim or Jill saved us $900 by not maxing out there dental insurance this year, let's roll over the money they didn't use". Studies show dental is by far one of the most neglected thing people don't get checked out until it's to late, or extremely expensive. So with that being said I rather pay the money for Great quality & getting it done once, not having to go back over & over again for the same problem and pay a co-pay over and over again. Use your insurance, pay for what you need to out of pocket if it comes to that, and walk out with a Colgate smile.
