This is a little cafe out in the middle of nowhere along the sun valley scenic byway (route 75) in the Stanley area. We thought it would be a great place to stop for lunch. We were sadly disappointed. We expected higher prices due to tourism, but the food just wasn't worth it. My boyfriend ordered the $13 cheeseburger which was pretty good but it was the only thing that was good. It came with way undercooked waffle fries. My $8 cheese quesadilla was a basic cheddar in tortilla, nothing special. Came with a small side of chips out of a bag and salsa out of a jar, even though menu stated made in house. My son's $7 hot dog was just sad. In addition to this they had a water cooler for self serve water, but no glasses. We got one glass and ended up sharing it between the 3 of us, even after asking for more glasses. As for covid accommodations this place violates all common sense. Table was dirty, none of the staff wore masks or gloves and they did not enforce patrons to wear masks either. We did not see any sanitizing occurring anywhere, including the water cooler. All they did was put out a few hand sanitizers. We do not recommend this place at all. Waste of money and unsafe under current circumstances. read more

An absolute gem. The folks who run the place are lovely and welcoming. The food (and I am a foodie) is DELICIOUS. Everything is homemade and most things are organic. The baked goods and iced coffee are an excellent treat to end a relaxing meal on the deck with...or if you fancy, perhaps a huckleberry ice cream. An easy place to feed all, the fussy kid, the gluten free, the craft beer lover and of course the foodie. I had the salmon burger, it was perfect! This is a seasonal cafe right off Hwy 75 in Sunbeam. I believe (according to their Facebook page) that they are open Th-Sun, 8-8. They sell ice cream, chili dogs, ribs, burgers, craft brew (Lagunitas, lots of Boise beers), stuff like that. Also nice baked goods and coffee for breakfast. The cafe is run as part of the river rafting business next door. My family stopped in since we were camping in the area, and the owners were really friendly and talkative. We bought some ice for the cooler, came back for ice cream for a dessert, and then grabbed coffee and hot cocoa on the way out of town. Cool place, cool owners...really a nice place! Worth the stop if you're nearby. read more

So yummy! The salads are excellent. I ordered a side of each one and my family and I shared them as a appetizer. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful. Best salmon I have ever had. Loved the sweet family that runs the place. It is evident they work their tails off. Good homemade baked goods and a great lunch stop after time on the river or lake. All of their salads cone with home made dressings and local vegetables. The French fries are definitely worth adding to your meal. This may be one of the only restaurants in the area, but it is definitely a great spot for a quick meal with a view and great friendly service. Out and about on the Salmon River east of Stanley and you just need something sweet to eat? Stop in here for the treat of your life! We were lucky enough to drop by after Nancy, baker extraordinaire, had mad a delightful pastry with fresh blackberries and peaches! INCREDIBLE!!! It looked so good we bought the whole thing and took it back to our campsite just up the Yankee Fork and devoured the whole thing. What a way to top off our visit to Idaho to see the solar eclipse! All their other goodies looked just as great, so don't feel bad if you don't see this seasonal treat on the counter. I'm sure everything else tasted just as nice. I was wandering around the area last weekend, started to get hungry and decided to pop into Sunbeam Cafe for a quick bite. I ordered the Sunbeam Salad with avocado and a lemon bar. Both were absolutely delicious!!! The salad tasted super fresh and the dressings were exceptional, they brought me all 3 and I tried them all. Each of them had a great flavor but the rose vinaigrette was my favorite! The lemon bar (gluten free) was out of this world!!! So amazing, the lemon was perfectly balanced and the crust had an amazing flavor! Above all the employee who took care of me was very sweet and gracious and provided exceptional service!
