The food was good, nothing special, I had a sausage omelette and only found maybe 5 tiny pieces of sausage. Hubby got Bacon and eggs, simple but good.

The hollandaise sauce was seasoned well and just coated the eggs and toppings. Their cappuccinos are made well and not at all watery like so many I've had at other places. Hubby had the McCall scramble with sausage and said it was tasty. Their croissant breakfast sandwich is also delicious and just the right size. You order at the counter and bus your own table if you're dining inside or on the patio. They deliver your order to your table if you're dining in. It can get quite busy inside, especially if people like up inside of the restaurant. I've seen the staff ask people to line up outside to respect the diners who are sitting at the inside tables. I think they should have a sign instructing people to line up outside. It would be so much better for all and help to Improve the ambiance. There's always a line and it's totally worth the wait.

Fogglifter Cafe - Cute outdoor patio, weather, permitting. They even had a little table for kids! And I noticed dog treats by the register!

SOME TIMES A PLACE NEEDS A GENRE OF IT'S OWN…read more ... it was like dinner theater ala Americana. We needed someone to settle a question: is that berm that goes along the Hwy 28 an old railroad bed or is it an irrigation ditch. Finally, as we were getting gas in Leadore, ID, we decided to stop at the Silver Dollar Restaurant, hoping that someone there would know. Oh, what a jolly surprise this place is! It turns out that they were closed, but the lady asked if we were hungry and said she never turns away hungry people. That made our city manners feel a little uncomfortable, especially on Mother's Day. But when the stream of talk started from the owner/cook, we were taken back, and then realized we were in for a cultural treat. As background, my husband and I have both lived internationally (on different continents) and in rural backwaters, so we don't expect everyone to be like ourselves. Not only did we get our question about the berm answered, We learned all about the train station that burned down across the street, and loads of other local history tidbits. And, we found out that the owner's 3 year old grandson will be entering a pie in the local county fair with a video to prove that Mom and Grandma didn't bake it. If you want a spinach salad with beets and candied walnuts (a favorite of mine), this isn't your place. Think sandwiches more along the lines of Dagwood, than bistro. All the slicing is done with a knife not a slicer, and there is no Gordon Ramsay to abuse the cook about the width of the tomato slice on the BLT or the perfect measurement cheese on the ham and cheese sandwich. I may have to go to the County Fair in Salmon just to check out that little boy's pie.
