Cheese curd appetizer

In this small town nestled in the mountains, this sit down restaurant is one of the few options in the area. I came with a large group at the beginning of hunting season and had dinner here. Even with the large number of people in the area and our large party, the wait time for a table was not very long. The food itself was hit or miss. The burgers were under cooked so make sure to say how you would like the burger cooked. The salad on the chicken was dry and over cooked. Everything else was okay. The steak was the most enjoyed meal in our party. The breakfast was a bit better. The biscuits and gravy were good, but the hash browns were not very crispy. The cinnamon roll and pancakes were very good. The breakfast sandwich was good, but not very filling. The eggs were over cooked, especially the fried egg. The service was a little slow but I think that was due to the crowds and how large our party was. Staff were very friendly and everything was very clean. Overall, you don't have a lot of options here but there are decent options in this small town.

Buffalo chicken wings
Jamie S.

Hubby had a glass of the pinot gris and I had their signature drink, the River's Edge Sour, to start along with the buffalo-style chicken wings that were perfectly cooked and juicy while being crunchy on the outside. I had the steak frites and the steak was cooked perfectly medium rare to my request. Hubby had the bison steak and it was also cooked to medium rare perfection. The service was exceptional and much appreciated when our server told some inattentive parents their children were running around amok and needed to be reined in. He did so professionally and we saw that others were relieved how he had handled the situation. Other than the rowdy children (who were handled appropriately), the ambiance was good.

I never imagined I would experience such great food and service in the tiny town of Stanley, Idaho, in the middle of the Sawtooth Mountains. The Pastrami Panini was to die for, and the fries were some of the best I have experienced.

Pot roast sandwich French Dip

Top notch food and operation. A very nice place a long way from the major population centers. We loved the draft local Cider. We both were completely full and pleased with our choices of the pot roast French Dip sandwich and the western bacon cheeseburger. The fries were great. The service was perfect. Clean bathrooms and well organized dining area. We were sure glad to enjoy this restaurant almost 4 hours away from home.

Classic small town bar/ restaurant. Rustic, cabin decor. You got you taxidermy on the walls, an old pool table, and just old school country vibes. There's two big rooms, one is the main dining area with many tables, the other room being the bar with more tables and a pool/ foosball table. We were more in the party mood, so we hung out on the bar side. We ordered some drinks and some of us also ordered dinner. I went for the vegetarian killer pasta. It was actually super flavorful and delicious. Exactly what I needed to balance out our adult beverages. It also happened to be karaoke night who can happened to be a fun surprise! There wasn't a crazy amount of people inside, but it was a great vibe and fun group of people regardless. The bartender was nice and the server would check in on us from time to time. Collectively it was a super fun experience and the drinks and food were pretty good and cheap on top of it! Definitely worth stopping in if you're looking for a good time.

Great onion rings that were substantial and also well cooked. Tough combination to pull off

Superb, simple yet hearty menu. Excellent execution. Perfect for a small town on the wide open range to tuck in and chow down. Onion rings are substantial and well cooked. The burger was super juicy and seasoned well. Great chili with elk meat. Just satisfying on every level. Would definitely stop in every time even remotely in the area. Worth a pretty long detour.

We made a quick stop for some breakfast before we went fishing. The interior was super cozy and homey inside. It was super cold outside, and I loved that they had a fire going. I ordered the waffle meal and my husband ordered the chicken fried steak. My waffle was delicious. I ordered the special maple syrup with it, and it tasted amazing. I got so full from the waffle alone, so I shared my bacon and eggs. My husband said his food was really good as well. The service was great too. The only thing I wish is that they had a few more options, like perhaps french toast. This place is still a super great place to stop and enjoy some food.

Prime Rib

The Mountain Village always kills it! Started with the Bang Bang Shrimp tonight followed by the amazing Prime Rib. Great flavor! Not your normal fatty mess, theirs is lean and delish, cooked perfect with an elevated side of parsnips and carrots with mashed potatoes and gravy plus a side of Au Jeux and creamy horseradish. Paired with a Cesar salad that was so simply perfect. Great meal fallowed by so much fun square dancing!

Western burger, add jalapeños

Tucked away in Stanley. Awesome spot to stop if you're in the area. Came by on a weekday afternoon with 2 buddies after a morning of unsuccessful hunting. Fun ambiance inside, free wifi login on wood signs throughout the inside in case you don't have mobile reception. Super friendly waitress who gave us useful and honest recommendations and put up with one of my friend's constant questions. Western burger hit the spot. Beefy, good amount of bacon. We added jalapeños which are grilled for a smoky kick. Fries are solid. Nachos were a HUGE plate. Got it with juicy grilled chicken. I liked that it had melted cheddar AND gooey nacho cheese. Lime crema added a good tart balance, and the salsa verde and guac were in cups on the side so nothing got too soggy. Whole plate was nicely toasted in the broiler and chips were thin and crispy. Only downside/caveat is that it IS pricey, but hey I'm an expensive-city girl and the prices didn't faze me. Plus the quality was top notch, service was great, place was fun, and it's expensive to get supplies that far out. Bathrooms were clean and bright. View of the mountains outside the window is gorgeous. Hope to come back for another visit soon.

Was super excited to come here and checked in on Apple Maps to see if they allowed dogs which says they do. Got turned away once we arrived.

TLDR; It was good, but I don't think we would be coming back…read more Service was a solid 4.5 stars. We had everything we needed and the table was managed well. There was ample staff. But there was a slight complacency in the air. The staff lacked the hunger and drive that makes a restaurant truly great. Ambiance was great, another 4.5 stars. The food fell short of the mark, most certainly below the prices paid. The pork chop was beautifully cooked, but under seasoned and the sauce accompaniment was reminiscent of A1 steak sauce, and it just didn't work. The mash potato side (and additional $16) was somewhat bland and grainy. It tasted as though it was cut with a root such, as a turnip, which made me long for that true Idaho potato taste. Another diner had the eggplant Parmesan, which was well prepared, but slightly under seasoned. We also had a pasta dish that was too al dente, to the point of being crunchy. The experience was fine, we do not regret going. But I wouldn't be in a hurry to return.

This experience was freaking awesome. We were within feet of Britt for our whole meal. We made reservations for the Chef counter and got to watch Chef Britt run the kitchen.... And it was amazing!! The menu changes monthly, the food is delicious!!!! We got two appetizers, two entrees, two desserts, and we each had a couple drinks. The bill wasn't as bad as we thought it was going to be.... And was pleasantly surprised when we got our bill. We will definitely be back to eat here!! Everyone was pleasant, our waitress Michelle was awesome suggesting great options for our meal and drinks....

People can have a bad day, and I never want to cast negative light on a small business, but this experience warrants a review. I ran into the store quickly with my 3 year old for some raw products and side dishes for dinner ...a super quick $100. When I got home 15 min later, I realized one of the items I had been carrying around the store was not in my bag. Since I had gone there particularly for that item, and specifically remember taking it out of the refrigerator when I first got there, I wanted to call and make sure they could put it aside for me if I had been charged for it OR that I hadn't accidentally left it out in the store not refrigerated and unnoticed. Since I wasn't provided with a receipt, I didn't know, but I did know that I took it out of the refrigerator and placed a few things on another table near the register as to not block anyone while still grabbing and dashing! Charged or not, I felt I had left it out somewhere and wanted to make sure it got back to refrigeration and didn't go to waste! You'd think this would be a simple conversation with the store owner. So I called the store to let them know. I tried to explain that I'd gone up to the counter with raw creamer, but it didn't make its way into the bag, so I wasn't sure if I was charged for it or not but it should be somewhere around the cash register area regardless! The owner curtly interjected while I was mid sentence that she did not charge me for creamer. I tried to explain again that I had taken it out of the refrigerator and she might want to check on the table with the soup containers bc I had placed things there before getting to the register. I wasn't trying to argue that I had paid for it. Her response was, "we did not charge you for creamer. Do you understand that??" I am not exaggerating, she said it just like this! To a customer!! Very shocked at her response and tone, thinking there must be some huge miscommunication, I tried explaining again that I was positive I had left it in the store, out of the fridge, regardless of being charged. And told her where I thought she should l check. I thought for sure this would resolve the conversation and it could end on a good note. I was not being confrontational at all b/c there was nothing to argue about! She then accosted me again and told me I did not "get charged for creamer" and then HUNG up on me!! The OWNER!! Acted like this!!! Over a customer trying to tell her she left the creamer out! Such a disappointment as the store was a great resource for me. I absolutely love supporting small businesses and local farmers, but can improvise elsewhere after this experience.

Today, our friend brought us to Garden City to walk along the river, and then over to Uncle Guiseppe's for lunch. It is a small, seemingly authentic New York deli that serves a great number of different sandwiches, along with specialty drinks, like sodas, sparkling water, and lemonade. They also well things like pastries and, of interest to us, jarred roasted tomatoes. My wife had the #9 Monte Cristo, and I had the #3 Bonanza. Delicious. I also had a Manhattan Special Black Cherry soda, also super yummy. My mistake, not realizing what I was doing, was to order "whole" vs "half" sandwiches. The whole are footlong. I ate the entire sandwich, holy moly! My wife brought half home. Next time I would probably order a half. The owner, who I will call Guiseppe, had the heavy East Coast accent, and checked on all of his customers, making sure they were happy and satisfied. This place is a little gem. We're already talking about our next visit to Garden City to walk and have lunch at Uncle Guiseppe's!
