This is a family owned/operated wine and beer tasting room located in Carpinteria, with their vineyards located on nearby Rincon Mountain and in Paso Robles. Cool vibe entry area, with a large, garage-like back room and outdoor tasting areas. Parking available both on street and in a private lot in back. WINES: We were fortunate to have Jill, co-owner with her husband Edward, pour for us and the service was excellent. We tried 5 wines from the tasting menu, a '22 Storytime Rosè, '22 Susie Q (white Rhone blend), 2020 Dusty Vinyl (Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre red blend), '19 Tempranillo, and a '19 Monk (Bordeaux red blend). In addition, Jill also poured us a '22 Syrah. Again, all the wines were well-made and flavorful. We took advantage of the waived tasting fee and took several bottles home with us. You can also purchase wines by the glass or enjoy a bottle onsite. BEER: New since our last visit, Jill and Edward decided to brew beer, so we also decided to share a tasting. All ingredients are grown on their property and they're currently pouring a Lu Lu Lager, a Monk's Ration (Belgian Ale), and a Sal's Stout. The pours are generous and easily enough for two people to share a tasting. We're not huge beer fans, but these, especially the lager and the ale, were so refreshing and full of flavor. From the moment we arrived, everything felt so peaceful and welcoming. Getting to see the alpacas up close, feed them, and just spend time around them was absolutely magical. They are the sweetest, most gentle little fluff balls I literally fell in love. Each one has its own personality, and being able to interact with them made the whole experience feel so special and personal. It was such a unique way to celebrate my birthday, and it made Valentine's Day even more memorable. I truly had the best time and left with the biggest smile on my face. They completely stole my heart... so now I guess I'll just have to go back and get it! I already can't wait to visit again. If you're thinking about going do it. You won't regret it!

According to the owners, they had three different time slots, and each time slot had their own group of alpacas they could feed, so that was very thoughtful! The owners, in general, are friendly people. There's not much to do outside of hanging out with alpacas, so the owners will talk to you every now and then about the alpacas. The alpacas are very friendly but shy. Some will walk away from you unless you have food. We also got to feed a water buffalo and some goats. For a farm, this place is crazy clean too. Nice restroom. Place didn't smell terrible. One thing I was worried about was humane treatment of the animals, but honestly, the animals look very happy to be there. There is a cat roaming around freely too, so please be careful when driving to and from the farm.

I was paired with a terrible horse who did not follow any of my commands, constantly ate the vegetation, pinned his ears at and would try to bite the other horses for no reason, etc. I have some experience riding horses and I was doing my absolute best with this out-of-control horse. In turn, I was continually being barked at by the guides to "pull up on the reins and release, don't let him eat, kick him, go to the back, catch up to the rest of the group, keep him away from the other horses" etc. In addition, we rode through a very busy freeway overpass with multiple onramps/offramps and cars everywhere. We also passed right next to an active railroad. Of course, a train roared past a mere ten feet away from us. The horses spooked and it was a miracle that no one was thrown off. We were not given any prior warning that we would be riding in the middle of these very dangerous environments. If there was a warning in the waiver, I wouldn't have known because we were so rushed to sign it and had no time to read it. We finally made it to the actual beach and spent a mere 20 minutes on the shore before riding back through the danger zones towards home. I spent the entire ride pissed off, disappointed and feeling unsafe.
