Longest line ever! I figured it must be real special for that many people to be waiting on father's day for ice cream. Then I found out that they were giving free ice cream to fathers! The ice cream was just OK but I guess free makes average ice cream better. read more

My wife and I frequently visit this treat spot and the staff are always friendly. Even with a line to the street, the service is quick and accurate. Love this mom-and-pop ice cream place on the roadside in Cranston. It's got those informal summer hang-out vibes. Portions are huge (kiddie size is ginormous lol) and the workers are very friendly and helpful. The ice cream itself was yummy, they were able to look up allergens very quickly to confirm, and the prices felt very worth it bc of how huge the portions are. I got the coffee oreo ice cream with sprinkles and it was a dream. They've got both soft serve and hard serve options. So good. Lots of picnic tables for seating to hang out with friends. Make sure to ask for a lid if you don't think you can finish! read more

A fun old-fashioned ice cream stop that although isn't in the most enchanting setting right off oaklawn road, it's fun to drive up and get ice cream with the kids. The soft-serve is what you would expect and the ice cream is tasty. Wouldn't travel far out of my way but it is tasty and the staff was kind. read more

We went to the Johnston location the other day and had not the best experience. After returning to the Cranston location I could not be more pleased. The customer service was outstanding. She was so kind and so helpful. My ice cream was sooooo delicious. I have been craving this ice cream for days and to finally get this craving satisfied was amazing. Thank you for the excellent service and even better ice cream!!!! I didn't even have time to take a picture from inhaling it so quickly!! read more

We visited the shop early September as part of the RI Food Fights ice cream passport. We arrived after dark around 8pm. The parking lot is small since the shoppe is on a main road. We couldn't find any spots on the first attempt so we had to turn into the main road to turn around and park in front of a closed store in the same strip. There are plenty of large picnic tables for people to sit. It was brightly lit for night time, as well. Sundaes has Gifford's ice cream, which I love. The flavor list was long and plentiful. The scooper was very friendly and allowed us to try multiple samples without any issue. He was able to describe any flavor and answer all questions. We eventually picked Campfire S'mores and Chocolate PB Cookie Dough. Flavor was spot on and consistency was perfect. After we sat down, I noticed the line become very long and filled with teenagers. I can see parking as a big issue on really busy nights. read more

I love Sundaes. I actually worked at the Cranston location (back in 1999, literally) and it has been consistently delicious since then. Their best attribute - soft serve coffee. And it's not vanilla with coffee syrup mixed in. It's out of the machine, and it's delicious. The prices are consistent with current times (I have to remind myself that a kiddie cup for $0.89 is literally a price from over 20 years ago) and the portions are very generous. Either you're in Cranston or Seekonk, the service is good and the ice cream is delicious! read more

Biggest cones and creamiest soft serve.Fair prices especially for the SIZE! Chocolate/Vanilla twist in a cone with jimmies is my go to and delicious. Is one of the friendliest ice cream places I have ever been to. We go here frequently because it's near home and because they have a product that is dairy free and low in fat and calories for me. They always provide good service even when in the past there has been baseball games that have let out nearby and whole teams are there with their families getting ice cream. They are quick and efficient and kind. I love their ice cream and my friend always gets Sundays which he says are perfect. Right now during the pandemic if they have signs and markers to keep everyone safe. Is a great place to go to with a huge selection of ice cream treats. read more

WOW, Just WOW! I am usually not much of an ice cream fan but we its summer, in RI and well you gotta stop for a cone every now and again. We pulled on up just before closing as I got a waffle cone with some blackberry crumble ice cream or something along those lines and OH MY GOD, I could have ate cone after cone of that shit. It was delicious! It was like a pie made love to a cone and the outcome was this delicious treat. So many flavors, delicious ice cream, and a convenient location with plenty of parking. I think we enjoyed Sundaes ice cream every weekend this summer and probably a few times during the week as well! Portions are huge, we all get the kiddie size and it's still a lot! Kids love both the soft serve twist and cotton Candy ice cream! The sundaes are delicious and the best part is they have a ton of dairy free and vegan options! I have been having this extremely , out of this world delicious ice cream from here for many years and it's the bestest !!!!! Parking is ample . Be aware , you can find yourself standing in line for a while , this place is popular . Over the years , I see more and more people standing in long lines to have ice cream here . It's located right off the bike lath which mean , a lot of traffic from the Main Street and bike path . They take credit cards . Make sure you leave a nice tip to awesome crew . I will always miss fruit flavored dole whip. Always. But, I will also always love sundaes. Nothing like grabbing an ice cream on a warm summer night and sitting outside to enjoy it. Conveniently enough, there is a bike path right behind the shop... So you can stop mid-ride for a treat, or end a ride with a treat, or walk with your cone in hand. Try any of the ice creams, they are all delicious. When I'm not in the mood for tons of dairy, a Ty thing is a good alternative. Dole whip is non dairy!! And Only 8 claims to be safe for most lactose intolerants.... My favorite indulgence is chocolate peanut butter cookie dough. But most likely ill get a cup of soft serve twist.... More places should have soft serve. read more

I've lived in the area for a few years and can't believe I just found out about this place. The peanut butter Oreo ice cream is TO DIE FOR. I could eat ice cream for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and this place has so many options you'll never get bored. They let you sample the ice cream before making a decision. The portions are HUGE. you can definitely save some money and order a kiddie to receive a large portion. I have to say my favorite part is the doggie sundae. A 'kiddie' cone could feed 3 people, but I'm not complaining . I just had a coconut cheesecake brownie rum raisin concoction on a waffle cone and it was the best ice cream I've had in a long time. I stopped in tonight with a friend to satisfy our sweet tooth cravings. I already knew when I got there what I wanted to order because this is one of my favorite ice cream shops. The ice cream selection is large and they have many different flavor and types of ice creams to offer. Anywhere from soft serve, to hard serve, shakes, natural frozen yogurt and even doggy ice cream! There is a bike path right behind the ice cream shop which is great if you decide to stop for a treat on a summer day before getting on that bike, or maybe after the bike ride. I went for a two scooper of Almond Joy on a sugar cone...... I enjoyed every. Single. Lick. My friend had ordered the frozen yogurt with extra jimmies. The girl behind the window was so sweet that she actually added jimmies on the bottom prior to putting ice cream in the cup, and then filled the whole top with them. read more

Since I was a kid, Sundaes has been the #1 destination for ice cream. After a baseball game, a stroll on the bike path, after the beach, or an after dinner treat. I'm luck enough to be able to share it with my kids, just as my parents did with me. Their ice cream is second to none. Sure, they boast a ton of flavors , combos, etc - but for the 27 years they have been in Cranston it's always been a waffle cone of chocolate/vanilla twist with chocolate jimmies. As far as portion size... Huge. The exterior is a bit run down but the inside is always meticulous. Weekends are a social gathering spot even after dark and everyone leaves happy. Looking forward to another 27 years enjoying this cool treat!! read more

What do you do on the hottest day of the year? Eat ice cream of course!!! I went here with my son around 8:00 at night and found a nice long line. No worries though the line moved quickly and I still had to make a last minute decision once I got to the window to order. This place is great for family's who just can't agree on what type of frozen treat they want. There is hard ice cream, no sugar added ice cream, frozen yogurt, soft serve, and all the toppings you can imagine. My son got a kid size cone and needed a bowl because there was no way he was going to finish the ice cream before it melted. As for mine, the ice cream was really good and a regular size cup was more then I could devour. I will definitely be going back to try more flavors I might even have to go everyday this summer just so I can come close to sampling all the different types of summers frozen treats!!!! read more

Good waffle cones, big portions, reasonable prices. I tried the chocolate, extreme chocolate, cake batter, and rum raisin. The only one I did not love was the rum raisin, not thick enough and tastes too much of alcohol. I was told they get their ice cream from a variety of suppliers including turkey hill, bliss, and brigham. read more

We've been going to Sundaes for years and it's the best ice cream place in Cranston! The soft ice cream is SO delicious and there are so many flavors in the hard ice cream (which is amazing too!) as well as limitless toppings!! I can't say enough about the owner who is so friendly and sweet and the young staff members are great too....always polite and friendly. My kids have serious food allergies, and it's here that we feel super safe because the staff is so aware and cautious with how they serve people who have allergies. They even offer a dairy free soft serve option! Best ice cream in the area! read more

bruh the disaffected, very intimidating teens who work here could not possibly scoop ice cream slower. the sheer bored aura eminatong from them could be felt from the parking lot. i am glad they didnt make fun of my sweatpants or the fact that i was turning into a liquid in the parking lot. good but not great ice cream. read more

Keep in mind that it's cash only but there are bunch of signs outside so they make that clear. Overall it's a solid ice cream place. It's conveniently located near where i'm located which makes an easy stop for ice cream if my partner or I wants some ice cream. It didn't seem fresh at all and made the whole experience messy and unappetizing. Ice cream is supposed to be cold and enjoyable, not practically liquid before you even get a chance to eat it. What made the situation even worse was finding a hair in my ice cream. That completely ruined my appetite and immediately made me question the cleanliness and care put into preparing and serving food. Finding something like that is unacceptable and very unsanitary. It made me feel uncomfortable and disappointed because customers should be able to trust that basic hygiene standards are being followed. I normally try to give places the benefit of the doubt, but between receiving melted ice cream and then finding a hair in it, this experience was frustrating and gross. I expected much better quality and attention to detail. I hope improvements are made because no customer should have an experience like this.

There were few more people behind us in the line. No one was being served at all as manager was busy stocking store for next day so that she may leave for home on time. Secondly jobs should not be performed while there are 15 customers waiting in line to be served. Clearly manager was upset on the rush during the last hour. She made sure that she does not serve until few people leave without food. I feel bad for the business owner. They should at least watch cameras if they cannot be there themselves on busy weekend nights.

Uncle George to everybody there especially Alexa. I'm a regular so by the time I get to the window my order is ready. Great bunch of kids. However, the customer service during our most recent visit, which was our first visit of the season, was surprisingly rude, which leaves me wondering if something at Sundaes has changed, hence the two star review. We brought a group of 12 here on Friday night, 5/15/26 at about 7:15 and the employee who took our orders was polite and wrote everything down. We paid for our order all together. It wasn;t very busy when we arrived, but it took quite a while, nearly 10 minutes, for us to receive the first of the 12 ice creams, and then the rest of the order came out little by little. By the time we left, there was a line of about a dozen people. When my ice cream was ready, it didn't have the sprinkles I had ordered. I asked if sprinkles could be put on, and rather than simply adding sprinkles, the employee (manager?), went and checked the paper order, stated that sprinkles weren't written down and that she would have to charge me for the sprinkles. I asked about it again, citing our order was large ($88), and couldn't they just put the sprinkles on that they forgot to include. She replied repeatedly stating that doing that would be against company policy. Hmmmm....... Really? If that's the case, Sundae's policy is pretty poor. This exchange of words left me with a very bad feeling, but as I was with a large group including several kids, I didn't press it any further. Why in the world would a company refuse something that costs pennies to the business, instead making the customer go through the trouble of cashing out again, especially when it was the business' mistake? More ice creams from our order continued to come out at a very slow pace. One ice cream was made with the wrong flavors, and one was forgotten and by the time we received it, most of the other people in our party had already finished eating. At some point as we waited for our ice creams the "manager" called out to me to ask if I wanted rainbow or chocolate sprinkles (I guess the company policy had changed?), but at that point it was too late, she had already set the tone. While the ice cream at Sundaes is fine, I would strongly suggest that the owner of this business provide training to their staff on customer service, and how refusing to honor a request for forgotten sprinkles without incurring a new charge can lose a customer (or in our case a large group of customers) for a long time. Also, the wait time needs to be speeded up. Maybe more staff is needed? With so many other ice cream places within a short drive of Sundae's. I doubt that we'll be back given our most recent experience here. Moose Trackers in Scituate, Gigi's Scoops in Smithfield, or The Parlor Creamery in Cranston are all great places and will get our business the next time our group goes out for ice cream.

The black raspberry ice cream was cool and creamy, great raspberry flavor without tasting artificial as some do. The oreos adding some chocolatey richness to the experience. It felt indulgent and refreshing. I basically inhaled it so I wouldn't wear it but every bite was fantastic. Inside Scoop has been there for ages, and for good reason. Apparently, this place is home to the donut bomb ($7.99) which is like a donut sandwich, where they stuff ice cream of your choice into two halves of a donut (no hole) and top it with toppings. There are also some pre-crafted combos like a peanut butter, oreo, M&M, and more. With my coupon, I was told I could upgrade to the donut bomb for $3 (the coupon holding a $4.99 value for a single scoop). Since it felt like a once in a lifetime opportunity, I went for it and decided on the peanut butter one. My mom ordered the caramel single scoop ice cream cone. I did not spend too much time reading the menu, which I regretted since it turned out the peanut butter ice cream is a chocolate based with sheets of peanut butter scattered throughout instead of a peanut butter base with peanut butter sheets. But I did love how it came with tiny peanut butter cups on top. For presentation purposes, the whipped cream did look nice under the donut bomb, but for practicality purposes, it would've been nice to have the whipped cream on top. The donut was not too sweet, and was very soft, but I felt it took away from the flavor of the ice cream. I loved the peanut butter sauce on top as well. Overall, I would've preferred a traditional cone, but I applaud them for having something different on the menu that most people seem to love. She also informed me of their Scoops 4 Vets program. Donate an extra $2 on your order and a vet will get an ice cream for free. And who am I to deny anyone, much less a vet, some ice cream?
