Ray did call/text several times which I understand, but he even sent his co-worker who lives close by to our house to follow up. I thought that was a bit much, a few days later we told Ray we went with another company and thanked him for the follow up. Right after that amore started texting us asking who we went with and to be careful. We had to block the phone numbers because we were over it, but it didn't stop there! Rays nephew called us tonight again we were nice but said we went with another company! I understand because I work in sales in a competitive industry but damn please take the hint! I'm sure they do fantastic work but the constant pressure and nagging was just over the top and really just a red flag for us. Solar is a stressful process and this didn't help make it any easier.

My 7.54kW system used 29 - 260W LG panels split into 2 arrays and utilized both M215 and M250 Enphase microinverters. The reason I wanted to try 2 different microinverters was to compare the performance. In the end, it really didn't matter much. Bottom line, shading and weather were the dominate factors in power generation and all the crazy details I looked at were in the noise. It was still fun at the time. So 6+ years after having this system installed on my roof, I have had ZERO problems (kudos to LA Solar Group and the quality of the hardware). My system has produced over 72 MegaWatt-Hours of power and each and every solar panel and microinverter has reported data (input voltage/current, output voltgae/frequency, and power) from day one over that period of time. This telemetry allows me to see exactly what's going on in my system and if any one of the 29 panel/microinverters acts up, I will know. My system has already paid for itself based on my calculations, so I am a very happy customer. In addition, when I have questions for the LA Solar team, I still get answers. Highly recommended. With the cost of solar dropping in price over the years, it's really a no-brainer.

I say this because I did my homework right and had obtained over six estimates, and this company beat all the other five not only on price and quality, but also on other (rather important) things as you can see below. 1. Price: This company beat all the others by nearly 20%, and all the other five estimates came very close to one another to the point where I was suspecting that there is some sort of illegal "price fixing" that is rampant industry-wide, but not for this company since it came far away (and below) all the others. 2. Equipment Quality: The system they installed was the most advanced compared to all the other bids. It used higher-end Panasonic panels, and Enphase micro-inverters and combiner. Others bid for lesser-quality no-name panels with one string inverter and a set of optimizers. After much research, I think a micro-inverter based system is superior to the string-inverter based system (so don't listen to the confusing information you find on the web, which portrays the two types of systems as being "equivalent"). So with a total of just 20 panels, my projected annual solar energy production should be about one and a half times my consumption. This should bring down my PG&E bill to the minimum $10/month, and should be able to provide all the electric energy needed for an extra electric car I may purchase in the future. 3. System design: This company had the most precise and realistic design, and that is very important because some of the bids I received were not realistic as they sketched more panels on my South-facing side of the roof than that side could possibly fit. This inflates the projected energy production, but is NOT realistic. In my case, the optimal design was to use the Southern-facing and Eastern-facing sides of the roof and to arrange the panels 50/50 on both sides. This company nailed the design right, but other bids like I said was either plain wrong, or were not realistic. With this design I was able to get a peak production of 6.2 KW, which is close to the theoretical 6.8 KW peak (the difference being mostly due to the orientation of my house). 4. Consumption and Net Monitoring: Most contractors let you monitor ONLY the energy production of your solar system, but this company gave me the ability to monitor the CONSUMPTION of energy by my house and the net energy exchanged between me and utility company on an instantaneous basis (actually every 15 minutes) and on the same Enlighten App as shown in the picture. This is really useful if you would like to do any energy planning in your house to see who/what is really consuming electricity. Granted that you can see the consumption on your utility website, but that data is one or two days delayed and does not show up in the same view as the production, and these two problems make the data from the utility company useless for that purpose. 5. Other: All the folks of the company I have dealt with are ethical in their dealing and are reasonable. The company installed the system in two days, which is very quick. Getting the consumption monitoring to work correctly took a while longer though.

When it came time for solar panels on our new home Sunpower was our first choice. This is an American company that stands behind it's products with a 25-year bumper-to-bumper warranty. The new panels are cleaner and more efficient. The micro inverters are mounted on the back of each panel for individual monitoring of energy production. The reason I contacted Today's Energy Store is because they have achieved their Master Dealer Designation. It's important to chose wisely when working with a solar company. This investment will be working hard for you every day and you need to be able trust the company to take care of every detail from design, permits, installation and bird proofing your system. Everything was included. Our first contact was with Martin, our system designer. He has vast knowledge of solar projects and guided us through the process including financing. Our city and HOA permits were all handled. We appreciate Martin's help and guidance. If we had questions he was always there to answer them. Our install team included the owner Marc. Marc has over 35 years of construction experience and we knew we were in good hands. Justin is the Project Coordinator and took care our electric work and connections. These items were all taken care of with an organized approach. He set up his work station at my electrical panel and methodically began his work. The install of all conduit to my panels are clean with no conduit running over the edge of the roof but through the attic instead. This makes the installation clean and appears to floating on our roof. This takes more time and effort but I love the look of it. Justin also was here when the City of Las Vegas inspected our install. This is a very important part of an installation. A good working relationship with the inspector is a must. The system passed the inspection because it was installed with skill and excellent workmanship. Colby, the City inspector, was pleased with the project. He checked my electrical panel and went on the roof to look at our panels. Our installers were Luis, Chris, Nick. The roof mounts for the rails were installed under our roof tiles and it all looks very clean. The rails are black powder coated and they also look very clean. The last step was our critter/bird proofing for the panels. This is really important to protect your investment. Pigeons and rodents will nest under your panels and cause major problems. This was included in our install and it really looks clean and well done! Justin and Neal took care of this important piece of business! I hired Callidus Electric to run Ethernet and install four exterior PoE security cameras at my…read morehome. Unfortunately, while the cameras were ultimately installed and working, I was very disappointed with the workmanship, professionalism, and especially the company's response after I brought the problems to their attention. Several drywall access holes were patched very poorly. The pieces were uneven, there were large gaps and damaged edges, and they used raised, rounded-head screws rather than drywall screws, leaving me with additional corrective work before the ceiling can be properly mudded and finished. This is now something I will have to pay someone else to repair. The crew also left drywall dust, pieces of stripped cable sheathing, screws, and other debris behind in my garage and around multiple exterior areas where they worked. One of the screws was left on the garage floor where I park my vehicle and could easily have ended up in a punctured tire. What particularly bothered me from a professionalism standpoint was that the crew helped themselves to my personal equipment without ever asking. They used both my ladder and my broom. I expect someone working in my home to bring and use their own equipment and if they need something they didn't bring to ask permission before simply using my personal equipment. There was also a basic installation request that wasn't followed. I specifically asked for 4-5 feet of slack on each Ethernet cable where the four runs terminate at my PoE switch. Instead, the four cables were left at substantially different lengths--approximately 5 feet, 3 feet, 3 feet, and only 1.5 feet--making it more difficult to arrange the equipment the way I had planned. I initially chose not to post a negative review and contacted Callidus directly instead. I spoke with Kyla, explained the problems, and subsequently emailed detailed feedback along with photos. She was polite and apologetic and told me she had shared everything with the service manager and owner and that the work was "completely unacceptable." Unfortunately, that was effectively the end of Callidus' response. I never heard from the service manager or owner. Neither contacted me to apologize, discuss what happened, or offer any way to make the situation right. Nobody offered to correct the drywall patches, reimburse any portion of the cost of having it repaired, provide a partial refund, offer a future service credit, or propose any other resolution. I was simply told the employees would be spoken to internally. I appreciate Kyla's apology, but internal employee coaching doesn't resolve the problems left behind at a customer's home. I gave Callidus the opportunity to address this privately before posting a review, and I was disappointed that management apparently didn't feel any additional follow-up with the customer was warranted. The mistakes themselves were frustrating, but the lack of ownership and meaningful response from management after I documented everything is ultimately what turned this into an unsatisfactory experience for me.
