When my system was installed about 18 months ago the installation went well. You can always tell the truth of a company based on what happens "after" the sale. We spent close to 50k on solar panels. Our inverter went out late August. They sent out a tech to try to fix it several times. The fix would last a few days then fail. We were finally approved for a new inverter. We had to wait for the warranty to be approved then the unit to be delivered then for it to be installed. We lost the ability to generate energy on and off until last week. (Aug-Nov) When I asked to be compensated for the loss of the ability to generate power due to faulty equipment I was told that the company would look into it and ask management. I was contacted today that $69.00 is all that was approved. So from late August to the end of November we were not generating power from the panels consistently. We were patient waiting for a fix and to be told $69 is disappointing today the least. Please be careful when considering to do business with this company. I understand needing to take time to fix an issue but not to help the customer with the loss of solar for over three months isn't how you take care of customers. I wouldn't recommend them. read more

I received an initial response from Destiny the next morning (3/20), which was great. They asked questions to be able to build a quote which I answered right away. She then said that they have a showroom and I asked the hours it was open. I did not commit to any appointment at the showroom. She followed up with me again in the afternoon on Friday, but I was unpacking so I didn't respond. I assumed since I answered all the questions that she would email me the quote. I didn't hear anything back so I went forward with Ion Solar (for multiple reasons, primarily pricing and equipment). I received a call from Destiny yesterday (3/27) asking if I'd like to come in and review the quote. I explained that since I hadn't heard back from her I already moved forward with Ion, she thanked me and that was that. Or so I thought. You can always tell what kind of company your dealing with when things go wrong... install started off bad with installers dropping tools through my patio shade ... installers also left tools on my roof then decided days later it was OK to climb up on my roof with no notice, not even a knock on the door to get thw tools while my kid was home by herself. Payed 10s of thousands for a system and here I am 2 years later getting a nve bill. I check and there are a number of days that are showing minimal generation. We're talking under 10 kwh during what should be some of the most productive times with panels on the front and back of home. I submit a ticket and get.. Hello, We don't recommend homeowners monitor their systems through NVE, as that platform only displays energy credits--not actual production data. Your home is designed to use the power as it's being produced, and any excess energy is sent to NVE as a credit. We recommend monitoring your system through the provided application for the most accurate production information- in your case your app is Mysolaredge. My husband and I have done a lot of research on solar companies in Las Vegas. We finally decided to stop by Sol-Up's on-site location near Dean Martin and the Flamingo/I15 exit. We had scheduled an appointment for 5:30 P.M. on a Thursday, but arrived slightly earlier around 5:00 P.M! The team member at the front welcomed us and checked us in. We were then provided a tour of Sol-Up. We got to see a variety of their solar panels and how it would be placed on the roof. During the tour, we also got a chance to see all of the plugin electric capabilities that Sol-Up offered and even some of the electric bikes! It was pretty cool! After the tour, we sat down with the sales representative to go over the NV energy analysis and the type of panels Sol-up offered. We were there on-site for a few hours, going through all of the different options and technologies! From there, we scheduled a site-visit assessment at our house to take a look at the roof and confirm if the solar panel layout, initially discussed, would work. The team member who came out to our house was fantastic! He let us know that the initial design wouldn't work but provided a recommendation with changing some of the panel locations or potentially even different panel sizes! So we decided to get solar, and so that was one of the companies received information for. We had a consultation with the awesome Antonija, who answered all of our questions, review panel information, Car charger info, the works. They have a great office team and even showed us the exact panels we'd receive and how they would look on our roof in their extensive showroom. The install was just as great when I say the electrical team descended on my house, that's what I mean. They were super neat super fast and the install took one day. Underproducing, but all Sol-Up can tell me is there are no guarantees on production. I suppose then they can tell you anything they want for production and never deliver the numbers shown. Our sales person, Antonija, she is an amazing to work with. She gave us a tour of the facility, after each department we went through she asked if there were any questions/concerns before moving to the department. She told us how their system works, how the engineers work, etc. After doing the tour, she broke down everything for us and what would be the best product for us and how much usage will be used. She answered all the questions and was very patience with us as this was another big purchase for my family. She helped us get a good deal and wasn't pushy which is a plus. Sol-up installers and install process was great. It is EVERYTHING else which is horrible, sales, support, and financing. I requested a HUB inverter as I wanted the option to easily expand the system to include a battery in the future, but the main reason I wanted the HUB inverter was for the ability to track how much energy output I was sending to the electric company and at what times I was sending. I wanted a method to audit the electric company, and not just depend on what they tell me I am sending them. I wanted a way to audit the energy I am getting credit outside of the power company's equipment. I made that specifically clear to sales and they stated I would be charged an additional cost for this, which I agreed. I looked at the model numbers and they matched, but come to find out they do not include the last 3 digits on the model numbers on the paper work and I did not find out I did not get the proper system installed until the final walk through of the equipment after installation. I told them that the equipment they installed was incorrect, and that I just had to buy new equipment to replace the incorrect equipment. Of course, their lawyer stepped in and pointed out in the fine print that any equipment can be swapped out depending on availability. Now, I understand why that clause is in the contract, by that clause should not be cited when they clearly did not try to purchase or installed the requested equipment. I have found the Sol-up support to be horrible and very costly!!! They will over charge you if they have to touch the system at all. I also have found that Solar installers are way over charging on equipment cost and installation. Not to mention the fact that they all want to steer the customers away from using batteries, but if you do have batteries installed then you can optimize the power company credits by selling power back to the grid when you get the highest amount of credit as opposed to just during the daytime hours of production. Basically, Solar systems without batteries just subsidize the power company's ability to provide more power to other customers during the day without having to produce that power. To add insult to injury that is when the power company charges the most for power and least amount for credit. Do not use the Sol-up finance company as they are horrible to work with when it comes to re-financing or even just increasing an existing home equity loan. The company is so bad I just paid it off! Steer clear of using Sol-up if you want anything custom, they just want to install what they install period and anything outside of that they use loop holes to not fulfill the requests even though they state it will be no problem during the sales process. I gave them multiple opportunities to make this right, and I would even split the cost of the mistake with them, but they wanted me to eat the entire cost and charge me for a new upgraded inverted that I requested and full installation cost. I also offered to purchase a battery if they would just swap out the inverter, but they refused and just hid behind the equipment delivery loop hole. read more

Office ladies all were very nice and after I chose the best option for me they were able set me up with an appointment within two days. Great communication as the office notified me of an arrival time the day of the appointment. Their technician Emmanuel showed up within the window and serviced my inverter. Although our initial experience with this company was positive, once the installation was completed, when we raised a concern we were not listened to. We had to send them examples of other installations in our area that were done more professionally than what they had left us with. Instead of trying to listen to us and work with us, the service representative just tried to convince us that the install was done to industry and their company standard. This is contrary to the install that they did on our neighbors house. The service representative even went as far as saying that what I was asking for was a Tesla patented product, which I researched and this is simply not true. In fact, just today, another company did an install across the street from us and it is far more professional looking and make ours look like an amatuer did it. When Sol-Up finally agreed to send a technician out after we submitted numerous examples of better installations, the technician only begrudgingly attempted to fix the issue. Since then I have tried to follow up with them but have not received any response besides we'll get back to you. It is very difficult to try and obtain contact information for anyone in upper management. This company is good with initial process of selling their product like used car sales man doing whatever they can to get you to buy their product but when it comes to ethical and moral responsibility when issues arises down the line they'll do whatever it takes to make more money off of the problems they ignored and created the first place, my issue with sol-up came after I had a few water leaks around the solar panels they installed witch the roofer they work with said is from underlayment of the roof and they should not have installed the panels and it was inspected by their inspector before the installation, I would like for them to remove the panels so I can replace the underlayment but they wouldn't do it unless I pay for it I was told they are not roofer they are not responsible for issues arises later, they will get you in a trap so they can make more money there's absolutely no moral obligation when it comes to taking care of their responsibility. I wanted to write an update now that we have had the system for just under a year. It is amazing! We now have no electric bill other than the $19 NV energy fee. Our AC has been running non stop all summer, in the hottest summer on record. It took a few months to build up the credits but now we no longer have a power bill. $40,000 system and just got an $140 electric bill for October. I complained back in April when I got a bill and was told it takes a little time to build up credit and that as stated in the contract there is no guarantee on performance. Hmmmm. So I've waited. When I had the solar put in I explained I want to over cover as I didn't want any bill. We added an additional 2 panels and I was told that would cover over 100% of my bill. The follow up is that they guarantee nothing. If your engineers are unqualified to accurately estimate how well the system will work then why do you give the estimates and tell people how much it covers. When we were finally ready we called Sol Up based on a neighbors good experience. We couldn't have been more pleased at the entire experience. I went looking for solar options after seeing my summer bill, been through 3/4 different companies with incentives that sounded so well! I ended up with Sol up through referral/ reviews/ Panasonic panels.. Process was smooth from the beginning to the end, my sales consultant was Grant Lipus.. Came over and explained in detail.. Did not push me to buy at all.. I was already contracted with Vivint at the time and upon speaking to Grant, I immediately canceled my contract.. Reason why I canceled is because the solar panels where a lot more reasonable in pricing, Panasonic is made in Japan (Japan product) usually last longer than any others and everything is done in house.. From sales all the way to installing and QA.. Other companies whom I've called and got quotes from did hire third party installers which to me was a big thing when it comes to a big investment.. Sol up took care of my HOA papers, submission of Net Metering and much more... Sol up notified me that it will take at least 20 business days from submission to Power Live.. I didn't believe them at first because my other friends who went with other companies took over 2 months.. LOL... I'm like okay Sol up could just be saying this.. But I got the results.. Email sent 10/22 for net metering submission.. NV energy came over 11/15 and gave the OK.. I quickly notified my friends that their guys messed up lol.. I have been asked to provide a recap as to my experience with SolUp. from the initial meet and greet with Bob, who had discuss with me the options available with owning my own solar system. I have been impressed from the beginning because the detail that was provided and the ability to finance in different ways that are advantageous to the customer. The system I picked out was definitely a plus to include the Tesla battery which allows me to produce at 100% of my daily usage. With that being said we must understand that we need constant sunlight during the day to ensure we maintain the value. One of the things that I have mentioned before with SolUp is that as a consumer, we must be given the information in regards to panel placement, which means how it will look on your roof, symmetry, if desired, and energy output that will be produced to include obstruction of vent pipe. For my installation and follow up since then, SolUp has been exceptional on their commitment to ensure that we as the customers are fully satisfied. The app that is used to measure your system called solar edge is fairly decent. In addition to this app, I also have a tesla battery that is tied in with The solar panels and allows me to see how well my panels are producing. Between the two I am able to better manage my expectations on total output. I have no regrets or remorse from having this installed, and I'm quite happy with the outcome that it has produced. Let me start by saying I do not have sol-up and will not be using sol-up, This is a review of how they are out to scam you. First I asked for them to come to my home to go over pricing, instead the salesman showed up wanting me to sign a doc agreeing to pay them. I refused. I never seen a truth in leading doc. Than they sent a man to my home to make sure my electric panel will work with the new solar. Everything went ok. Here is the SCAM they than sent a roofer to my home. He was here less than 10 min and told me he would have a price for me and when they come back they would be putting a load of tiles in my driveway. I explained I have zero problems with my roof. Why are you telling me you want to replace my roof. He told me Sol-up wanted the bid. It was over 20K for this new roof I did not need. The scam is they will 100% guarantee your roof but only because they sell you a new roof. Sol-up tried to say my tiles are old that is why I need a new roof. I have zero leaks on my home. I have counted over 12 or more home on my street that have had solar installed and did not have to have all the tiles replaced. I will be going with Tesla solar. Install was very well done. Crew was professional and did a great job. All solar systems will require a little bit of conduit on the outside of your house in order to get the power from the roof to your electrical meter. The crew supervisor was able to run the conduit closer to the bottom of the house so as to minimize the visibility of the conduit. This required some extra work on their part. After installation, you'll need to wait a few weeks for the county and NV energy to do their inspections. Meanwhile, Sol-Up will send a painter to paint the exterior facing solar system parts to match your house exterior color. The front office does a great job making sure everything's on schedule. One trivial issue: Other Solar Companies such as Tesla will allow you to monitor the electricity that your solar array produces alongside the electricity your house is consuming and the net energy that you're sending back to NV energy.
