Sunday C&C Bakery originates from Miami, which, if you remember, started out as a Smorgasburg vendor before opening a stall in Bowery Market. They've recently opened up a location in Bushwick, and they offer coffees, pastries, and even sandwiches, especially vegan items! We tried their Guava and Cheese, the croissants, a couple of the canelés, and the biscuits with a cherry spread. Coffee was prepared well and had nice latte art. Try to get there early, as some items do run out! Staff were friendly, and the space is definitely small, but cozy. Loved the tile counter! Possibly the best vegan food in NYC. Their rotating menu consistently features inventive dishes with bold flavours and interesting ingredients. That they make such delicious, attractive food in such a tiny kitchen is something of a miracle. Certainly a testament to the level of care and professionalism of the chef and team. On a recent visit, we had the Lion's Mane Mushrooms with crispy yucca, the Fried Chick'n Sandwich and Romesco Toast. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented as always. Pricing is also very fair for what you get, a rarity in the city. The only downside here is that a dish you fall in love with might no longer be available the next time you go. The food here was delicious. The dishes seem to be Latin American/Korean fusion food. I had the arroz pegado, which was socarrat (rice that is allowed to brown and get crispy at the bottom of the pot after cooking) topped with a creamy, spicy sauce and crispy grilled mushrooms. Really great option for vegan food! They have bar seating available and were big crowded when we went (around 6 pm). The options are many and it was focused on Latin American food when we visited but they mentioned that the menu changes every season based on ingredient availability. The flavors were wow! So many of my friends have raved about Sundays and told me that it was a vegan gem so I was excited to come in and try it for the first time. It's an adorable spot with a couple small businesses, and luckily in the winter, it's covered so that you can enjoy your food without freezing. The staff working here are super friendly and helpful especially if you want tips on the best things to order. My Yuba Club was incredibly flavorful - only problem is that it was extremely tough and chewy, so I almost felt like I was eating leather. I reached out to the restaurant via Instagram and they mentioned that sometimes the Yuba can be tougher than other times so I'm pretty sure they're going to make sure this doesn't happen again. Again, the flavor was so incredible that I ended up eating the whole sandwich, but it probably took me 40 minutes to chew everything up. Baked goods are lovely! I did order an egg sandwich that I really did not enjoy. They have an option to make the sandwich vegan which is amazing. I'm dairy free but not vegan so I just wanted the cheese to be vegan. They gave me the vegan egg sandwich on accident with no cheese. I took a bite but it was cold and I couldn't stomach the vegan egg. I hate sending things back. When I told them I ordered the regular egg with the vegan cheese, they said sorry and made me another one. The servers were very sweet. I get the new sandwich and it doesn't have vegan cheese on it. I then bring this up to them and they said they don't have vegan cheese. Maybe it was because they were out or they just don't have it there? I just wish they let me know they didn't have vegan cheese when I asked for it twice because then I wouldn't have ordered the sandwich because the sandwich was really boring and lack luster without it. And if you're going to claim you can make the sandwich vegan, I think you should be able to make all the elements of the sandwich vegan. I took 2 bites and took it to go and now it will most likely sit in my fridge until it goes bad. I just left feeling not listened to or that they were trying to get away with not having the thing I explicitly asked for. My first time at this vegan rincon/ corner spot where I enjoyed a chick'n sandwich which I would say was better than pretty decent. It was a very delicious sandwich with a mix of savory and spicy flavor from the cutlet and acidity and freshness from the pickled veg toppings. I'll admit I might have played it safe with my choice. The chef sometimes preps specials off the menu. I saw the patrons after me order an Afghan dish the chef was trying out. The menu itself also features Latin, Middle Eastern, and Asian items. Found this place totally by accident. Although some of the dishes have traditional names like Green Bean Casserole, they're not traditional at all. The chef is Colombian and the food has both Colombian and other South American influences. I had the Lion's Mane dish which was: "seared lions mane, tucupi preto + crispy sweet potato over green pea aji verde" The dish was had a lot of flavor and was very satisfying and the fried Japanese sweet potatoes, they were a big part of the dish, were delicious. Seating is very limited. The chef was very friendly and took his time to explain all the food and the ingredients. I guess I lucked out because I got in easily but I imagine it can be difficult because I think there were only three barstools and that's it. read more

This spot is THE FUNK - MUST VISIT! A friend of mine had suggested it a few times and raved about it, finally had the chance to check it out tonight with some friends after another idea fell through. It's in the middle of a warehouse area so it's got a lil' clandestine touch to it, which is cool. We went all in and got 2 of most food items and shared, which is probably the best way to do it here - that way you get a full experience of flavor. The menu changes every so often and this menu was released this same night. Top choices for me were the Crab Rolls, Jollof Rice, and Esquite, though every single dish great. This is the place to go if you're in the area. The menu right now is perfect for hot summer days. My group went after running a race and left feeling so refreshed and happy. We ordered the panisse, ceviche, peanut noodles, panela ajo blanco + confit maiitake, figs n cherries & fig leaf oil, and a couple other dishes i forgot to take photos of because I couldn't wait to try them. The chef and staff are so creative and friendly. They will answer any questions you have and do anything they can to make sure you're having a good time. Tasty on every bite. Having seen many reviews and hype on instagram, we decided to give SUNDAY a try. First off, this restaurant/food truck is located outdoors, so it is perfect for Covid times. It is perfect to grab the food to go, or to enjoy the meal with outdoor seating. But the real highlight of SUNDAY is the food. They have a menu with a wide variety of Latin inspired dishes, in the form of quick bites. Each of the dishes that we tried was full of flavor, each bite was an experience, this is something quite rare at this price point. I am so impressed at how much young talent is in Miami. The food here is something unique. You won't find these meals at another restaurant. I love trying out vegan spots and I'm even more in love when the food is 100% satisfying. I drove from Broward to South Miami just to get a taste of what SUNDAY has to offer and let me tell you, on the two occasions I've eaten here so far, I have not been disappointed with what I ordered. Kimchi Butter Bites: tastes like well seasoned, crunchy, dense chicken nuggets. The Kimchi butter is salty (not too much though) with a sweetness to it and has spice to it. I poured the butter all over and did a shake movement with the container it came in. "Chicken" Sandwich: By far the best thing I've had so far. A little less dense in texture than the Kimchi Bites but tastes just like a crunchy chicken sandwich. A good amount of Kimchi on top. I believe there's also honey coated on the patty which was everything to me. There's also a vegan creamy sauce (mayo perhaps) on the bun. Sweet Potato Sambal: This dish is the perfect representation of flavors coming together. Sweet Potato Scallops line the bottom of the container, ground "beef" is added on top (a hefty amount) and topped off with crushed peanuts and green onions. Sweet and Savory are the highlighted flavors of this dish. Maicito Stir Fry: comes with mushrooms and cheese and it was tasty. I would eat it with some wonton chips. Limonada De Coco - A refreshing drink of lime and coconut milk to wash down everything. Not too tart. A nice combo of sweet/tart and creamy. read more

Found out about Sunday's opening through a friend and I was immediately intrigued by the prospect of a new vegan food truck especially considering good ones are hard to find. This is probably my new favorite vegan places food truck or not. Went with a group so I got to try a little of almost everything. Coconut lemonade- I need them to sell a jug of it so refreshing Spiced Hibiscus ginger soda- tasted like a chicha morada soda!!! Papas bravas- flavor was great. Light and crispy and the sauce was delicious. Patacon- the heart of palm was so tender and it paired well with the passionfruit leche de tigre. Stir fry eggplant- Soo good. Not too salty. The eggplant and mushrooms in the fig soy sauce was Empanada- stuffing was good, although it was a little mushier than I expected. Chick'n sandwich- juicy and had great texture Chick'n bites- PASSIONFRUIT BUTTER THAT IS ALL Love this place!! I think its a great place to take people who are wary of vegan food. Great outdoor environment today, the breeze was so relaxing while I waited for my order. I'm guessing it's a couple that owns this food truck, as they greeted me and they were ready to answer any questions I had. I ordered their chik patty and papas bravas. I don't remember how found this spot through Instagram, but I'm glad I did! It's a cute plant based food truck that has the most delicious and creative dishes + coffee. I went Saturday and snagged a chick'n sandwich and the chick'n bites with some freshly made watermelon juice. Both dishes were AMAZING and the juice was so refreshing and perfectly sweet ( and I'm not even a juice person, I stick with plain water 99.9% when I go out). I loved it so much I came back the following day and tried the poke tostones and a Po'boy sandwich. OH MY GOSH THAT SANDWICH WAS PERFECT! The poke was made from beets which paired nicely with the huge tostone. It made for a fresh but very flavorful combination. That's what I love about this place. You can tell whoever makes these dishes carefully and creatively puts these ingredients together for a very delicious end result. The gentlemen at the food truck was very friendly and brought us our meals + the prices for everything were fair given the amount of food you get depending on the dish. I can't wait to see what else they come up with. I would recommend they get a banner/sign to advertise them from the street view, as many people were just driving by unaware that there was a food truck around. We've had Sunday several times when they were at Prospect Park's Smorgasburg, and look forward to it every week.

I am only writing a review because I cannot locate anyone I can contact through the business website. I have scoured the internet on every platform searching for the ingredients of the menu items. I have searched their website, instagram, Door Dash, etc. I cannot find the ingredients listed anywhere! I visited this little place today for the first time. I was very excited to try it after seeing all their yummy looking photos on Instagram! It was a bucketlist place to eat for me! I have been vegan for over 10 years. I ordered the yuca bites. Yuca is a root veg/plant, so it is knowingly naturally gluten free. I inquired about the mojo verde sauce, however, to assure that the ingredients did not contain gluten. The gentleman serving listed flour as one of the ingredients in the sauce. I said I cannot have that because I am gluten free. He offered an alternative "green sauce" instead...? When my order arrived, it was pretty clear the yuca was fried in some sort of batter. Having been diagnosed with a severe wheat intolerance over 15 years ago, I instinctively thought "oh no, this yuca is fried in batter, therefore it is covered in wheat flour and I cannot consume it!" However, seeing how the young man I discussed the ingredients with prior to ordering was informed I am gluten free and still served me the dish, I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and trust that he would not have let me order this if the batter contained gluten. He of course would not have switched out the sauce with a GF version just to serve it with fried yuca covered entirely in gluten?! SURELY NOT, RIGHT!? However, after eating the whole plate I felt really sick. Nauseas, stabbing sharp pains in my stomach, etc. I know these symptoms to be the feeling of having consumed wheat. :( :( I can't assume 100% because I cannot find the exact ingredients anywhere and I cannot find a way to contact this establishment in request of the ingredients...but I am almost posititive the fried yuca is fried in a wheat flour batter. Correct me if I'm wrong, I really hope I am. But I have not felt this sick in a very long time and it started immediately after eating the food......That being said, the bites did taste good so I am not leaving a bad review because that would be completely unfair. The reason for my 3-stars is the lack of transparency about the ingredients on the menu items by not being able to access them anywhere!!! read more

Yes this menu changes lots , and yes you will ALWAYS be pleasantly surprised. Eat at Sunday is My favorite vegan spot. Impossible to be bored of this menu as it's always evolving with new themes and locally harvested flavors. The chef here is a genius at fooling carnivorous taste buds and helping everyone embrace vegan cuisine. Don't expect to find a vegan burger or taco, I mean it might show up as a special but Sunday looks to reinvent dishes you usually couldn't imagine as vegan. I will always be a loyal customer here. They've updated their out door seating with beautiful lights and socially distanced seating. They're latest menu features my favorite home fries with a beautiful striped eggplant and crispy fluffy fries with a tahini chimichurri that I wanted to put in everything. The crispy kale on the jambalaya is equally mind blowing and crunchier than a crouton. The po'boy is BACK and dearly missed from previous menus. The star of the show on the this menu has to be the boudin babies for me, it's the perfect little fried ball of Smokey flavor. Lucia's lemonade is another sweet and tart addition to compete with their coconut limeade, can't go wrong with either one. Strawberry Beignets are also out of this world, close your eyes, and take a bite, to be instantly transported to the fair. read more
