This place has such a nice ambiance that can't be beat (only if you sit outside though - honestly would not say it's worth it to sit inside), such a great cocktail menu, and yummy food! I would recommend the corn agnolotti, fish and chips, baked clams, and oysters Rockefeller. The tuna tartare was decently sized but lacking a bit in flavor. Service has not been great when I've been here. They have a young staff that seem frequently annoyed, and unfortunately our food took a very long time to come the last time I was here. I would still recommend it, just be prepared to have a chill, long dinner! read more

Located on scenic Dune Road, Sundays On The Bay is one of those restaurants I've always wanted to go to but never had the time. Last night I was driving back to the city and decided to check it out. I drove down the long road flanked by sand dunes. The sunset was simply beautiful. There was very little traffic and I made it to the restaurant easily. Once there I was greeted by a friendly young girl at the door. The place was pretty packed but I was able to get a table by the water with a view of the bay and marina. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The food arrived hot and nicely arranged. The main entree I selected was the "Long Island Monkfish" for 34$. The price was more than expected for the quantity of food and they should have included some bread - very much needed with the spicy vinaigrette. The monkfish was absolutely delicious! The leeks and gnocchi went perfectly with the fish. I read online that the Branzino is really good here. I really wanted to try the Branzino but they ran out of it. Before I left, I went to the restroom. They have two stalls so there was a bit of wait. The main area is open with sinks, soap and a Dyson dryer - no paper towels. The stalls are clean with ample space. While waiting, I chatted with the other people who had been to the Rose wine soirée earlier. They said it was great - unlimited rose wine plus appetizers at the beginning, including lobster rolls. Tickets were 60$ all inclusive. They had a DJ and small outdoor dance floor and it was almost all women. That's not a surprise - rose wine events tend to attract more women than men. Food for 6 arrived within a short time, and this is what my party ordered -- two hamburgers medium-well that were overly-cooked with a hard bun. The fries were luke warm but tasted ok. A lobster that was very juicy. Several plates of vegetables that were cooked well and very flavorful. A $40 entree of scallops that contained...wait for it...a whopping FOUR medium scallops. This place is so underrated! Very surprised to see 3.5 stars! Right off the beach and a great pop in for a drink or a bite after a nice beach day. All of the servers and bartenders are friendly. Sarah at the bar is a rockstar. Their wedge salad is elite. Giant hunks of heirloom tomatoes and a really fresh buttermilk dressing. Right on Dune Road between the beaches and the Shinnecock Canal, it's the kind of place where you can show up exactly as you are. Relaxed, welcoming, and a refreshing break from some of the East End's more pretentious vibe. I went with the cold lobster roll, packed with generous chunks of lobster and just the right amount of celery and dressing, paired with truffle fries. Around the table, some big hits were the baked clams (an absolute must), Rigatoni Bruschetta, and Salomon. Plus the Aperol Spritz, Cosmopolitans, Spicy Margs, and draft beer bar made it easy for all of us to settle in. What I wasn't expecting was the live music that kicked off while we were there. Before I knew it, we'd stayed hours longer than planned, sitting on the patio watching fishing boats make their way back through the canal as the sky turned shades of orange over the water. Looking over the menu, we started with a handful of appetizers to share. The dozen Raw Topneck Clams were clean and briny, just how I like them. Fried Calamari was excellent too, crispy and super tender. The Grilled Peach & Burrata was good, but the peach could have been sweeter. Unfortunately, the New England Clam Chowder was too salty and smoky from the bacon. It covered much of the clam flavor that I was looking for. Still decent. However, the Crab Cakes taste more like potato croquettes. These were really bad. Skip! As for the entrees, we were all very impressed with the House Burger. Talk about a perfectly medium rare cooked thick beef patty, nicely charred and juicy. The Pan Seared Scallops with a lobster corn salad was delightful. Lastly, the Vegan Rosa Tagliatelle had a robust garlicky tomato sauce, although we didn't really taste any cashew. Located in by the water with such a gorgeous backdrop, I guess the high prices were expected, and the portion sizes are not bad. Service was friendly when available, but somewhat absent at times. We have been coming here for years, our latest visit, today, was disappointing. Wings are gone from the menu. The crab cakes were over cooked and missing the crab meat, the baked clams had no clams in the breading, and the clams with linguine was way too spicy for all three of us. We were forced to use their valet parking, and no longer are you allowed to walk down the pier and enjoy the views. Instead of the usually fun TV's in the bar being tuned to the latest sporting events, they had romance movies on them...weird. We found this restaurant one late September day on our way out to Montauk. It is near the eastern tip of the barrier island and Dune Road. Beautiful location with bay views and the marina. On a Sunday afternoon, looked mainly like regulars coming in around noon. The lobsters and clams were excellent as was the service. The menu was varied for a Sunday Brunch/Lunch and a great value compared to other restaurants of its location type and customer base. Afterwards, we walked about 200 yards to watch the folks fishing off the rocks both into the Bay and the Ocean. read more

The food here was good and what I liked is it doesn't get packed like there other restaurants Oaklands they own right next to them. I feel the younger crowd flocks to Oaklands and Sundays is more the older crowd. Either way both restaurants are great. I got a burger and my wife got fish and chips and both were great! This was meh. We came here for their weekly twin lobster special (two twin lobsters with corn and a potato for $55). We were able to walk in with no reservation on a Monday night and were quickly seated. After a round of drinks, we started with a few appetizers - New England Clam Chowder (because I'm on a mission to sample them all), some oysters on the half shell and baked clams. The oysters had no flavor and lacked that "fresh out of the water" salinity, the New England Clam Chowder tasted like someone threw a bunch of extra herbs into a can of Progresso and the baked clams were bland and overdone. Despite all of this I was still hopeful that my steamed lobster would be fine...how bad can you mess up lobster, right? I don't know where they get these lobsters from that they're this cheap, but they were also a bit rubbery but still edible, so I drowned mine with butter and made the best of it. The seafood stuffing I added on for $8 was overdone and burnt. Honestly, the best part of this meal was the corn. The ambiance here is probably what draws folks in since it's right on the water, but there's nothing else redeeming about this place. I'd skip it. read more

Returned to Sundays after several seasonal visits the past couple of years only to be met with disappointment. We were met and greeted immediately and cheerfully and led to a deck table overlooking the marina. Excellent. We were introduced by our smiling, upbeat server Anna (who'd, coincidentally, served us last summer too!). We ordered the clams in garlic white wine sauce, 2 lobster specials (2 lobsters each with 1/2 ear of corn, baked potato and drawn butter) and a bottle of Sancerre to enjoy with it all. I had a perfect spicy Bloody Mary to start off with too! The clams arrived in quick fashion with a small warm baguette. I highly recommend this dish! The clams were each 1/2 dollar sized, cooked perfectly and nestled in a wonderful wine & garlic sauce. Yum! The baguette was perfectly crusty outside and cushiony inside to soak up the clam bowl goodness. Then...the lobsters...served as we've seen in the past. Two steamed 1- 11/4 pound crustaceans with corn & potato side. However, the corn was pretty flavorless & unappealing and all 4 lobsters, sadly & unexpectedly, noticeably overcooked. A shame. Additionally the lobster special price had risen by 10% from $50/pp to $55/pp. A disappointing evening after all. Doesn't mean we won't write it off as an off night and try again...but stirred the "lobster is pretty ubiquitous around here & I'm well qualified to buy it & cook it myself served with better corn & save a lot on the wine" conversation. My prior visits have been 10s and Anna is terrific, so we'll likely return...but the "ubiquitous lobster" talk is gaining traction. read more

I will NEVER come back to eat here. The service was horribly slow and forgetful. Specifically, our waitress KAITLYN was apparently complaining to the rest of the staff about my family. She consistently messed up bringing out basic things like utensils and refilling water. They took almost 15 minutes to make 3 coffees (while not even ASKING half of our group), and it got to a point where we just cancelled it to get the check. Later on, we found out that she was offered help from another server but REFUSED. Obviously she needed it, but it seems like she wanted the guaranteed 20% tip for herself. We made sure she got none of it, but not before even more issues. Their prices are insane for mediocre food: either way too much salt or unseasoned. Never mind how we had to send back a steak that looked like pure coal (supposed to be medium well) and an incorrect size of lobster. Our bill was thousands of dollars for our large group. That would have been fine if the service wasn't as horrible as it was. At the end of the night, we wanted to let management know of how unhappy we were. The manager that night, BRI (TAKE NOTE), walked away mid conversation with my uncle. She was so incredibly rude to us and wouldn't even hear us! We just want to leave at this point so we split up the check so we can finally pay. KAITLYN then proceeded to tell us that WE had to hurry up because they had another large party that had been waiting. WE WOULD HAVE BEEN OUT OF THERE if they hadn't been so slow!! Don't blame us for something we had no control of!! Either way, the cards are processed, but one of my aunts has CHASE fraud alert on large purchases. We were talking, so she didn't see it at first. No big deal, right? She just had to text back YES and it would go through. However, before they could even let my aunt know it came up as fraud, BRI accused us of trying to skip out on the check and CALLED THE COPS after shouting to "get the fuck out of my restaurant"!! Who says that in front of FOUR CHILDREN (my cousins)!!! Please heed this as a warning if you were ever thinking about dining at Sunday's. As long as BRI AND KAITLYN still work there, you can expect snotty remarks and a mediocre experience at best. read more

Location was next to water which is beautiful. The waitresses were nice and we were quickly seated on a high table which can be shared with strangers. We didn't mind because we had a great view of the water for the sunset. Food was good but we had originally decided it order a appetizers to share among 3. We got quite a few things, the kale salad, the crab dip, crab cakes, tuna wontons and mussels in wine. We were surprised to see how little comes with the crab cakes and tuna wontons. The crab dip is really delicious but be aware there is a lot of cheese. Only only negative review would be that since i gave up pork we originally did not know that the award winning clam chowder had bacon in it! A Sunday in Hell I wish I could give this restaurant a lower rating. I was here for a special occasion for a family member. This is my second time here. Last time the overall experience was decent at best. This time it's was horrible. The service was horrendous. We had a large party that they couldn't handle. We asked for items over and over again before we got them. The staff was incompetent. The food was overpriced and bland. Some people ordered steaks and they were overcooked and rubbery. The fish had no flavor. My cod was a dry piece of fish with no flavor. When we complained about the service they turned it around and blamed us. The service was so slow and then they tried to rush us out saying they needed the table. One of the staff walked away while we were explaining everything and it escalated from there. They add a 20 percent automatic tip for larger parties which I never have an issue in restaurants but they deserved zero tip for what they put us through. Apparently we aren't the only people that had issues with them. Almost 2000 spent to be cursed out at the end of the night. Save your money and go somewhere else. I wouldn't go back there even they offered me a free dinner. As bad as this review is it's actually a lot worse. read more

Omg sundays in Hamptons Bays! Steer clear! We just went for a memorial and the bill was 2k, yes 2k! The waitress apparently said we were complaining about service when we were oblivious to this information. Anyway,the service was awful, steak charred, no utensils, delayed drinks etc and the restaurant was 75% empty! So no escape goat there. Then they tried to rush us to pay after they served us cake with no coffee orders. We then requested coffees and they took forever and all cakes were eaten so we cancelled. We then reviewed the bill which was full of errors so had to be rerun. In the interim, the pregnant employee named Bree told my brother to get the fk out of the restaurant. Yup you read that right. I was in the car and went back in to speak to the manager ( there is none over an estate dispute so employees can do what they want and they know it bc they have job security). I went to speak to the pregnant employee who was at the front and she said you can leave or I'm calling the cops. I urged her to do so! The cops came and apologized for this behavior especially as my sister wept over her late husband! Lisa a staff member perfusively applogized and attempted to diffuse the whole situation. Just steer clear this place is drama. The best part was the waitress who started all of this still walked away with a $400.00 tip! Love it read more

I just love coming to a restaurant and then knowing that I will be writing a five star for the visit. This place is not close to my house. The drive was 1:15 minutes, 67 miles into Hampton Bays from Mineola. It was totally worth it. It was a beautiful day and I can only image how nice it is sitting outside in the summer. It's still a little chilly in April. It was very easy to come here and traffic and parking are still not an issue now. We stayed outside for awhile just to enjoy the view. We finally headed in and settled in for dinner. This was a Kiwanis meeting and we had the whole restaurant to ourselves along with our own menu. We definitely packed the place and some people were hanging out by the nice bar in it's own room. The server were very attentive to us. They came right over for drink orders and let us settle in for a few minutes before that took our dinner orders from the special menu and gave us salads Everyone enjoyed anything ordered. I had the Flounder Primavera. (spring vegetable stuffed local flounder over a cream bechamel sauce with blistered tomatoes and a basil pesto.) It was fresh-delicious-tasty and hot. Really, it was perfect. My wife loved the flatiron steak and my friends enjoyed the swordfish schnitzel and chicken francaise. The cake they served at the end was also finished by everyone. This was our second time coming here, and it was even better than the last time. The appetizers were AMAZING! We ordered their crab dip, steak bites and mussels in white wine sauce - everything was spectacular. The white wine sauce was so delicious that we ordered extra bread to just dip it in and also use that sauce for our lobster later on. For the main course we ordered the lobster roll which was fine I think it would have been better without the mayo or lesser Mayo, the lobster itself was great as my family thoroughly enjoyed it, the burger was fantastic too. What's a trip to the Hamptons without a visit to Sundays. Known for its "twofer" people flock here for it. It's two 1 1/4 lb Lobsters with choice of either a small salad, fries or cole slaw. All for $45. The place was jammin on a Tuesday night at 6:30pm when we arrived. And while we enjoyed our drinks (Sam Adams for me and Rum and Coke for my wife) we watched waiters delivering meal after meal. At Least 75% were the Twofer. We started with the crab dip and boy was it rich. A concoction of crab, cream and cheese served piping hot with slices of crusty bread. NOT Keto friendly . My wife had the Twofer and I the Seared Tuna with Bok Choy and Kimchi enfused spring rolls. We ate our meals on the covered patio while enjoying a beautiful sunset. read more
