Came here with family and this place was great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful atmosphere and the staff were great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We chose to sit outside and they had beautiful outdoor seating on the water enclosed off and it was very nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is very nice as well, but it was beautiful day so we chose to eat outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food here was good and what I liked is it doesn't get packed like there other restaurants Oaklands they own right next to them. I feel the younger crowd flocks to Oaklands and Sundays is more the older crowd. Either way both restaurants are great. I got a burger and my wife got fish and chips and both were great! I would definitely come back and look forward to trying different items off the menu. Food 9/10 Staff 10/10 [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance 10/10[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking accessibility 10/10 Look forward to coming back and highly recommend!

The food at Sundays on the Bay is solid -- fresh and well-prepared, with a menu that delivers exactly what you'd expect from a waterside spot. Unfortunately, the service and management leave much to be desired. Staff were noticeably unfriendly, and the wait for service was unreasonably long, even though there were plenty of empty tables available outside. Despite the space, the host refused to seat us there, which felt more like poor management than policy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe is very local, which can be charming if you're familiar with the scene, but don't expect much in the way of hospitality.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Could be worth a visit for the food and view -- just don't come hungry or in a rush.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Flavorless oysters and New England clam chowder that tastes like Progresso
    Danielle P.

This was meh. We came here for their weekly twin lobster special (two twin lobsters with corn and a potato for $55). We were able to walk in with no reservation on a Monday night and were quickly seated. After a round of drinks, we started with a few appetizers - New England Clam Chowder (because I'm on a mission to sample them all), some oysters on the half shell and baked clams. The oysters had no flavor and lacked that "fresh out of the water" salinity, the New England Clam Chowder tasted like someone threw a bunch of extra herbs into a can of Progresso and the baked clams were bland and overdone. Despite all of this I was still hopeful that my steamed lobster would be fine...how bad can you mess up lobster, right? I don't know where they get these lobsters from that they're this cheap, but they were also a bit rubbery but still edible, so I drowned mine with butter and made the best of it. The seafood stuffing I added on for $8 was overdone and burnt. Honestly, the best part of this meal was the corn. The ambiance here is probably what draws folks in since it's right on the water, but there's nothing else redeeming about this place. I'd skip it.

What's left of the delicious local clams in white wine garlic sauce with accompanying baguette

Returned to Sundays after several seasonal visits the past couple of years only to be met with disappointment. We were met and greeted immediately and cheerfully and led to a deck table overlooking the marina. Excellent. We were introduced by our smiling, upbeat server Anna (who'd, coincidentally, served us last summer too!). We ordered the clams in garlic white wine sauce, 2 lobster specials (2 lobsters each with 1/2 ear of corn, baked potato and drawn butter) and a bottle of Sancerre to enjoy with it all. I had a perfect spicy Bloody Mary to start off with too! The clams arrived in quick fashion with a small warm baguette. I highly recommend this dish! The clams were each 1/2 dollar sized, cooked perfectly and nestled in a wonderful wine & garlic sauce. Yum! The baguette was perfectly crusty outside and cushiony inside to soak up the clam bowl goodness. Then...the lobsters...served as we've seen in the past. Two steamed 1- 11/4 pound crustaceans with corn & potato side. However, the corn was pretty flavorless & unappealing and all 4 lobsters, sadly & unexpectedly, noticeably overcooked. A shame. Additionally the lobster special price had risen by 10% from $50/pp to $55/pp. A disappointing evening after all. Doesn't mean we won't write it off as an off night and try again...but stirred the "lobster is pretty ubiquitous around here & I'm well qualified to buy it & cook it myself served with better corn & save a lot on the wine" conversation. My prior visits have been 10s and Anna is terrific, so we'll likely return...but the "ubiquitous lobster" talk is gaining traction.

Wonderful place! The location was perfect (weather helped out), service was prompt and friendly, and the food was amazing. All around great! Started off with the Oysters (cooked), got the Fish Tacos...Fish Sandwich and Lobster Roll. Lobster Roll was mine and delicious! Totally worth the price. The view helped as well, and we were in and out pretty quickly. Highly recommend stopping by if in the area.

We came on a Saturday night, party of 7. Make a reservation! Julia was lovely. We sat inside which was fine. A lot of windows and there was a pleasant breeze. No a/c. We came specifically for steamed lobster and we weren't disappointed. I really liked the coleslaw too (sweet with a little vinegar). The staff was friendly. Good place for families and friends.

Twin lobster special, one with a side of fries and one with a house salad. Always a great sunset overlooking the boat dock!

8/8/23 Twin lobsters were on our mind this evening. We ordered one each of our lobsters stuffed with their amazing stuffing. Our server Ryane was very attentive, We opted to bring a few claws and a tail home to make lobster salad tomorrow, I'm sure it will be wonderfully delicious. Sundays on the bay is always a lovely setting and a special treat.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Hosted my sisters night before/rehearsal party and it went well. We needed additional seating and the staff made that happen in a timely fashion. Briana was good to work with in coordinating the details ahead of time.

Location was next to water which is beautiful. The waitresses were nice and we were quickly seated on a high table which can be shared with strangers. We didn't mind because we had a great view of the water for the sunset. Food was good but we had originally decided it order a appetizers to share among 3. We got quite a few things, the kale salad, the crab dip, crab cakes, tuna wontons and mussels in wine. We were surprised to see how little comes with the crab cakes and tuna wontons. The crab dip is really delicious but be aware there is a lot of cheese. Only only negative review would be that since i gave up pork we originally did not know that the award winning clam chowder had bacon in it! It's not noted in the menu which i think definitely should! The scallops entree also has chorizo on it and the baked clams also had bacon in it.

This was a memorial tribute and this is what we experienced!

Omg sundays in Hamptons Bays! Steer clear! We just went for a memorial and the bill was 2k, yes 2k! The waitress apparently said we were complaining about service when we were oblivious to this information. Anyway, the service was awful, steak charred, no utensils, delayed drinks etc and the restaurant was 75% empty! So no escape goat there. Then they tried to rush us to pay after they served us cake with no coffee orders. We then requested coffees and they took forever and all cakes were eaten so we cancelled. We then reviewed the bill which was full of errors so had to be rerun. In the interim, the pregnant employee named Bree told my brother to get the fk out of the restaurant. Yup you read that right. I was in the car and went back in to speak to the manager ( there is none over an estate dispute so employees can do what they want and they know it bc they have job security). I went to speak to the pregnant employee who was at the front and she said you can leave or I'm calling the cops. I urged her to do so! The cops came and apologized for this behavior especially as my sister wept over her late husband! Lisa a staff member perfusively applogized and attempted to diffuse the whole situation. Just steer clear this place is drama. The best part was the waitress who started all of this still walked away with a $400.00 tip! Love it

Onto my meal, I got the filet taco, boom shrimp taco, and the hot honey chicken. They were all so delicious and yummy, I can tell they took their time creating each taco into a masterpiece. I loved the boom shrimp the most, then the hot honey, and then the filet taco the least, but all of these were so delicious I loved it! The boom shrimp is a delicious trip into the savory tastes of shrimp and the sea. I loved the addition of tomatoes, fresh lettuce, and avocados, drizzled in ranch. The filet taco is a great feast of filet steak and crispy crunchy onions. Lastly the hot honey chicken was great with purple lettuce, corn, pickles, and more fresh delicious veggies. I loved all the tacos so much and if I come back to the area I'd definitely come back, a must go to! Service/ambiance: First off the waiters came to us quickly with a nice refreshing water pitcher with lemons. It was a nice day out but not too hot, inside was nice and cool with the ac but not too cold, a nice balance. Not too loud of a place but nice and chill with a light speaker with music playing in the background. This in my opinion is a huge upgrade to the last location in Northport, this is much bigger and it looks cleaner. Something that stood out to me was that there was no men's sign on the bathroom, but there was on the ladies. I don't know if they're discriminated or something, but that was something, but besides that the bathrooms were very squeaky clean.

The restaurant is huge and always busy. They have two levels, and while I prefer sitting upstairs, both spaces are great. This time, I tried their New England Clam Chowder for the first time, and it was phenomenal. There wasn't a grain of sand to be found, and it was absolutely loaded with meaty, perfectly cooked, tender clams. The flavor was unforgettable. It managed to be creamy without feeling heavy. You know when a chowder leaves a thick coating of cream in your mouth that lingers long after each bite? This wasn't like that at all, and it was perfect. I also enjoyed the Caesar salad. I've seen it presented this way before, and while it does put a little more work on the diner, it's really not a big deal to use a fork and knife. The lettuce was crisp and cold, the dressing tasted homemade, and the crouton crumble was a game changer. I decided to add the seared blackened scallops, and they were cooked perfectly. The upcharge was a little more than I would have liked for the amount, but it was worth it. After all, who doesn't love a scallop straight from Montauk? That scallop traveled less to get to my plate than I did to get to Hampton Bays. The drinks were festive, the wine was cold, and the atmosphere was lively. It's the perfect place to bring friends and family and have a great time.

When we arrived at about 6:30, we were abruptly told by the hostess that this was a mistake and happy hour was only from 5-7p. At this point, we were there and decided to have dinner. We were seated immediately and water arrived at the table. Although we had the address, the location is a little off the beaten path. It has a very nice decor, very clean and pleasing to the eye. We were given menus shortly after being seated and ordered our drinks. My brother ordered a beer and I got an Aoerol spritz. In looking over the menu, we both decided on the house ground prime beef burger medium which came with all the fixings for a burger and shoestring fries. The burgers came out shortly after and in retrospect, we should have gotten them medium well but they were both delicious nonetheless. We finished our meal and were given a dessert menu which was tempting but my brother opted out and I got a double espresso. Our waitress was attentive and accommodating and was very knowledgeable about what was on the menu, what had been taken off the menu that partticular evening, which desserts were available, etc. She did check on us during the meal and at the end of the meal to see if we wanted any dessert. They have a wine list which was presented to us when we initially sat down. It is a pricey endeavor but this is to be expected at a steakhouse. For those who did not want steak or meat, there were also seafood options-shrimp scampi and salmon. It was a pleasant experience and I would recommend and will return.

We got a huge order-- three piece of fried chicken with wing, thigh and drumstick, as well as the chicken sandwich and fries, mac and cheese side, and an order of hot wings, with an apple pie for dessert. Everything was brought out hot to the car, and they put it right into our trunk, so it was 100% pandemic proof. The fries are really delicious-- nice and thick cut, with good seasoning, the chicken sandwich is TERRIFIC-- nice soft roll, deliciously seasoned and fried chicken, the crisp and slightly sweet bread and butter pickles a perfect complement, and it's not so big that you feel like exploding after (but also-- makes you definitely not want to share!), and of course the chicken itself was nicely done. I was super surprised by how strangely good the wings were, too-- I always like wings, so I was ready to be happy, but these were like... exceptional, and surprisingly big-- really, really MEATY wings. Plus even the carrots and celery and blue cheese that came with were above normal levels of yummy. The only ding to our experience was the apple pie-- it was kind of goopy in an off putting way, like they used that slime from a can of "apple pie filling", so that was sad. But I still gave full stars because I was honestly enthralled by everything else, as was my fiance, so I'd just say maybe skip dessert and enjoy what you should be there for anyway-- the killer chicken.
