I enjoyed my tanning experience, but the manager of the store (the guy with the nice hair) put me in as tanning AND a spa service. I wouldn't have known until I went back to my "home" location and the girl there asked me how I liked the spa service at 21st st. Am normally very pleased with the customer service at Sundays, however, just left the Sundays on Battlefield and the employee working 6-20-24 6pm was rude, incompetent and very unprofessional. After having a personal discussion w someone in the lobby, waiting on the girl behind me first, cleaning the spray tanning booth, and sending me back, only then did I find out that they were out of hair nets... so I got dressed to request a hair net and THEN found out that they were out and she THEN offered a BAG to put over my head... seriously?!?! I'm really upset with Sunday's Blue Box in Norfolk. I had to fly back toSF 3 weeks ago, and I went to Sunday's for some color. It is summer time, after all. I knew it had been close to a year since my last session, but when she informed me it had been over a year, and that I was no longer a member because my salon package had expired, I was speechless.How does a customer who has been doing business with Sunday's Blue Box for over 10 years suddenly become a NONMEMBER? After shoveling money into this company for a decade, I was suddenly treated like I had just walked in off the street for the very first time. To start a new membership was so outrageous, I honestly couldn't afford it. I didn't have time to ask the woman behind the counter, why I was being treated like this. If you think about it, I'm probably one of their OLDEST clients. And I still had to pack for CA. I had a flight in the morning, so I paid $ 53.00 for a tan that never turned. I asked for the same exact color, bronzer, and booth I had used for years before, yet For FIFTY-THREE DOLLARS I only got the same booth. Now it's been a month, and my quarantine is over. And I want some color before summer ends. I'm so ANGRY!!! What a waste, and a disappointment . They say during a pandemic, people must conserve their money. This may not be for everyone and results may vary. I'm a runner, and drink tons of water throughout the day. I wanted to lose 10 pounds. I did 12 sessions and followed all the instructions, I came 3 times a week for 4 weeks I might as well threw my money out the window. I saw no changes, or results. Always have a good experience and the employees are pleasant to talk to. my only complaint is they removed the garbage pails from the rooms leaving only one pail in the front of the store and although this is trivial it is convenient to throw old lotion bottles, lotion packets, hand wipes etc In private rather then having to carry them to the front of the store. not Sure I understand why the change. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. It was my second time ever tanning and it was for graduation and i didnt know what sticky feet were and was never told to buy them so i had BROWN feet for days. I tried calling management and they said theyd review their footage and never called me back when he said he'd let me know if I qualify for a free tan. My sorority sister who works at another location informed me that the employee did infact FORGOT to tell me about sticky feet. Therefore, the management clearly did not go out of their way to take care of me due to this HUGE inconvenience. Dont lie to someone who has friends who work for your company. I'm pretty pissed that I sign up for a membership last week and pay a $29 enrollment fee and $19 a month plus the tanning goggles, just to come in today to find out they are waving the enrollment fee and doing the membership for 10/month!!!! Any business that wanted a good review would have notified a new member of an upcoming special, or honored the current special with a client who wished to change from the month to month membership to the yearly commitment. I could almost accept this slight had they been willing to change my membership from my current $20.00 a month one (less than a week old and having used it only once) to the current special. But as I'm sure you already guessed, that was not the case. So as any self respecting individual would do, I cancelled my membership. They are however still drafting from my account in April since the 30 day notice goes into the next billing cycle. Understandable. In conclusion, I am paying over $100.00 for two months use at this facility!!! When all I was asking to do was sign up for the one year membership they are offering as opposed to the monthly membership I currently have. If it were possible to give them "0" stars I would!!!! This is hands down the worst tanning facility I have ever had the displeasure of coming to, and I welcome the management to comment to this review so that they may explain their lack of customer service. read more

The beds and facility are very clean. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. I purchased the package where I was able to try all the beds. I loved it. It gave me an idea of which beds I liked the most. Each time I came in to try a different bed, the staff was able to give me recommendations as to how much time I should do. The level 1 beds will make you more red than the other beds. I did not care for the spray booth. Compared to the other tanning salons I've been to, it seemed too complicated. You had to constantly change positions, rather than being in a booth the you just have to stand in and not move. read more

Went in for a spray tan. I have only ever done mystic, and should have done more research before going. So that's my fault. I went in, and they offered me the regular spray tan booth or a custom tan, because I had planned for a booth, I just stuck with that. However they kept trying to push more stuff on me. "You should really get a custom" "you need to prep with this and that" "here's a soap that makes it last longer". I swear it was about 10-15 minutes of up selling, and it was obnoxious. I mentioned that I missed tanning but can't for health reasons, and she starts going and on about the packages. No, but thank you. I get that's it your job, but enough is enough. Finally I went to the booth, and again... I'm used to mystic tans where the directions are very clear. And her directions were shotty and the machine had none. I felt like Ross in friends with the spray tan booth. I was very worried it would be uneven and Dorito orange. It was fine though! It did it's job. Didn't look orange, and was mostly even. I would still go back, with the intention of getting a custom tan and preparing my "no, but thank you" tag line. read more

There is an array of tanning lotions that will make your skin sparkle like the Twighlight vampires!!! They fit body wrap Is the real deal! My story begins with having a partial hysterectomy a lot earlier in life than expected. After my partial hysterectomy I began feeling very bloated toward the evening time every night. DO NOT BUY ANY OF THEIR PACKAGES I came into this blue box a few months ago when they were doing a "passport" package or whatever the hell it was, and it basically stated I got a month free if I payed for 2 (making it a total of 3 months of service). These assholes then give you a paper to sign without telling you anything about whats on it and simply stating its to activate your membership - and then voila, you just signed to the most ridiculous rip-off of all time. To recap: Fine print states that you have to give a 30 day notice before you cancel your membership. That means if you are cancelling right after you realized they are charging you AGAIN when they did not explicitly tell you they were going to, then guess what? You're gonna be charged AGAIN for the UPCOMING month that you don't even plan to use! The lotions are complete garbage - don't ever pay 30 bucks for those things that they have. At best they give you a perfumed scent, but literally do nothing for you at all. Buy some good ones online for half the price. Plus the amount you get is ridiculous, maybe good for 4 tans. And finally, their packages are a MINIMUM. So regardless of what the idiot cashiers tell you, it will NOT stop charging you until you tell them to. So for example, if your 2 months of charge came up after they told you that you would buy a package for 1 month free, and now it's a month after that initial deal is done, then guess what? You just got charged for another month! And guess what happens if you just realized this after the 3rd month charge kicked in? Yup, you get charged for the 4th month too! (see first point) Unless you know their policy, which you don't, because they'll never tell you when you're signing up. This place is a walking scam site. DO NOT come here PLEASE let it go out of business there are so many more places that practice good business models - deceiving your customers and inflating prices on ridiculous accessories that don't even work as intended is not a business worth condoning in this country. OK , I visit a various of Sundays tanning. My favorite by far is Sand bridge. Though the staff on Virginia Beach Blvd ( Near Burlington's) is the best staff. Started working in Norfolk, went to 21st street. Its ok. Could use an upgrade. Beds are not as nice and doors don't close. Was disappointed in Sundays, but hoping they are just in the process of fixing this store soon. read more

The employee that helped me (I didn't get his name but he had brown hair) made sure he answered all my questions and took the time to explain everything I needed to know about my first tanning sessions! At the Norfolk location in Ghent the beds are not cleaned properly so that is a huge problem due to bacteria and body fungus. The manager is very pushy and NOT customer service oriented in any way. I think a lot more people leave than stay because of her. Including staff not only customers. So save your money and go somewhere else where they appreciate your business. read more

I got a great deal on my membership and lotion, the woman who signed me up was super sweet, however I do always check the acrylic on the beds for left over lotion smudges the person who sanitized it may have missed which is frustrating, considering I worked three years at a tanning salon I have high expectations for the salon I use and think cleanliness Is the most important. 3 out of 4 visits I've checked my bed and requested it be cleaned again prior to using. When I walked in today before saying hello the lady who signed me up ran back to the room she put me in and double checked and cleaned it which I appreciated, however this needs to be applied to all consumers to ensure skin health and disease prevention. The best way to check your bed for cleanliness is to go to the very far right and look down the acrylic top and bottom and same with the left side . I love tanning but I'm not comfortable just getting in the bed and trusting someone making minimum wage and texting at the counter who sees my account that I purchased last week with a lotion and try's to upscale me another one already, is not always promised to do an thorough and accurate job of cleaning the acrylic. read more

Worst tanning experience I've ever had. I am a guy and I went in 3 weeks before my college spring break in order to get a base tan before I went with all my friends to the Keys. Since I am a guy and have only been tanning one other time the year before, I was pretty oblivious to the offers and what exactly each bed did. I trusted the girl that was signing me up to listen to what I wanted and show me what my best options were. I told her what I wanted/needed and she seemed to understand. I specifically stated that I only needed it for a couple of weeks before spring break and then I would no longer need the membership. She pointed out that it would be cheaper for me to do a month rather than a day to day basis. She then handed me a contract for $64 dollars that i then signed on the impression that it was just ONE month. Weeks go by I go to my trip and everything was great until I look at my bank statement and I see that I was again charge another $64 dollars for another month. I called today to have a woman completely dismiss what I was saying and just repeated that I signed the contract and that she would look over the video (from 2 months ago) and let me know the discussion that the employee and I had when I had signed up. She then told me that I had signed up for a monthly payment of $64 to be withdrawn. She then followed this statement up with that in order to cancel my membership I would have to give a 30 day notice in store, thus insinuating that I would again be charged another $64 for next month. This is all news to me considering I know what I had asked for and know that there is no way I would have signed up for this. I got knee surgery last week and it is not even possible for me to drive and cancel in person let alone tan. I would not recommend this place to anyone and the fact that they would take advantage of someone who has never tanned before is ridiculous.
