The office recently moved here from Clearwater Mall...this location is next to a Jersey Mike's and…read morean urgent care type medical center....very small strip mall type thing in north side of GRB just past AutoZone. The gal sitting behind the desk wasn't much of a friendly sort but that was the end of the cold fish vibe. Nicole the optometric tech nothing to write home about either. They both seem to take after the office manager...a guy named Wes. He seems the sort who tries to sound smarter than what he really is, but this isn't about character assassination. It's more about feeling comfortable while getting one's eyes examined, etc. That's where the present optometrist comes into play...The fellow is a doc by the name of Jim Phillips, who was/is a down home sorta fellow who speaks simply and tells U like it is without lotsa multisyllabic gobbledygook. The practice also has two other optometrists listed. No more Dr H. BTW...he has moved on in life apparently. The optician who helped us both select new frames is a gal named Jamie. She too, much like Dr Phillips, is a warm and friendly sort who seems to know her stuff quite well. The only one in the place I remember from their old location is Terry, the other optician who's actually been there for what seems like eons. Much like any other eyeglass operation, there's a decent selection of frames, contacts and the like. Turnaround still about three weeks but at least our insurance takes care of nearly all of it...I never recall those "one hour" joints being so well covered insurance wise. Most of the appointment setting and all are done online, although they still take phone calls and do stuff the old fashioned way also. As our optical insurance is totally electronic too, the electronic appointment and check-in system worked well and I didn't even have to speak to anyone, which is good. Given the front desk people I encountered upon first arriving: even better. If I were basing my review based on them alone, this place wouldn't even get THREE stars let alone four. Meantime, know that their new office can be a lil difficult to locate as it comes up really quickly and is a bit hidden by the trees and just being set back from the street. There IS a sign out front for it and the other two tenants so just be on the lookout and take your time. Just a little reminder once again that the plaza is directly adjacent to and just beyond AutoZone.

The associate was friendly knowledgeable and helpful. They have a variety of frames and deals on two pairs and used my EyeMed insurance and HSA. They can ship them to me when they arrive saving me a trip. Excited for my new transition and progressive eyeglasses.

I was able to see OD Christina Spellich and she was very nice and supportive. The entire eye exam and all my millions of questions took about 30 min total. After the exam they take you into the main area and walk you through picking out glasses and next steps. Fun fact: if you can't find glasses that you like, try the sunglasses too.. they can pop out the lenses!! Would totally return!! Keep up the awesome work guys!

Dr Dixson is exceptional.....she's upbeat, listens carefully and offers suggestions to try for best…read morepossible vision. Her caring attitude is refreshing and very much appreciated. I found 2 frames so bought 2 pairs! I now need to get an exam and new glasses. My one frame broke (my fault) but the other is fine and is a metal frame that I love. I am hoping the Dr. that was there still works at that office. I know he worked 2 or 3 day there and in St. Pete, I believe the rest of the week. I don't see him mentioned in any reviews but I hope I can locate him! he did a great job - very thorough as I said!

If you have been to one Ulta Beauty, you have been to just about all. They generally carry the same…read moreitems unless in specific areas, etc. This Ulta also has a hair salon but I had never given much thought to it. Ben's Mom normally gets me a large gift certificate to Ulta each year for Christmas and even after I had bought the things I wanted I still had plenty. Now, I know the certificates don't expire but I was in the need haircut or at least trim the ends. I tend to wear my hair very long so I don't like when I ask for 2-3 inches off and then suddenly it is 6 inches. It seems to happen over and over even when I try new salons. So I made an appointment online, just picking a stylist that was available during the times that fit my schedule since I had no knowledge of anyone working there. I explained and showed her what my idea of 2-3 inches was to cut off the split ends and she said no problem and we continued the process. After she was done she dried my hair and curled it a little for me... everything felt great and I left extremely happy. It was actually the next day when the curls settled down more that I was able to get a better feel of my hair and just how well she listened to how I wanted it. 2-3 inches off the length and then layers that should follow where the previous layers could be seen but also trimmed. It's about time to get another trim and I have my fingers crossed that the same stylist still works there.
