Alberto was friendly and extremely helpful ... showed me frames/lens that would flatter my face, shared his opinions and helped me find the perfect Oakley's glasses. Other stores I've been to the sales people are disinterested or non opiniated, which makes finding sunglasses a little hard. A simple hello and how can I help and commenting on specific shapes/brands can go a long way. I once had someone tell me all the glasses are meant to look good on everyone. I found it hard to believe over 300 sunglasses of different styles, shapes, materials look good on everyone. It was a pleasant surprise to find Alberto. In scrolling through the low stars/reviews, it looks like many are from 1 to several years ago. I hope people give this store a try as my experience (and several from 2023) was positive. I will be purchasing from the location at valley fair instead, stellar service there. The Burberry sunglasses I bought seemed a bit loose on the side so I asked her if maybe I could get a different pair since I was spending so much, and when she spoke to me it was if I was a child, very disrespectful. Bought a pair of Chromance sunglasses about 2 years ago. The lens coating has been going bad for over a year. I talked to the manager, really nice. She gave me the customer service number, but I have to think that she exactly what she was subjecting me to. After two years, I don't have my receipt. Surprise, surprise. But what I do have is indisuptable truth that non-abused sunglasses have a manufacturing flow. I have the glasses. I have Ray-Ban sunglasses that are 20 years old and function perfectly, including photochromatic lenses. First I went to Ray-Ban site -filled out interminable forms and uploaded pictures. Three days later, I got an email that said the pictures were not clear enough. Do you know how hard it it to get photos to show peeling lens coating? I took more. The website failed to accept the uploads. On to the Sunglass Hut customer service. I use that term loosely because neither Ray-Ban nor SGH intend to provide service. After 6 phone options and 4 read websites, the system hung up on me after 20 minutes. Obviously, I need to talk to a human being. But their systems all set up to never allow this and set up to make you pay for even trying. So if you want to pay $250+ for sunglasses that fail, Ray-Ban and Sunglass Hut are perfect for you. What a nightmare. Buy $15 knock-offs and throw them away. At least you will save the soul-numbing facade of thinking they stand behind their products. The problem I have is that I have purchased 3 other pair of Ray-Ban Chromance. So I will wait for them to fail as well. At least I learned to not waste anymore of my time. read more

I called ahead before I visited this location (due to covid, a lot of locations are closed), inquiring if they would accept a return from a different Sunglass Hut location, purchased in the last 10 days, original packaging, with original receipt. I was told, it would be fine and they would accept the return without, any qualms. I drove to Stanford shopping center yesterday, within posted business hours, only to find out- they have changed their hours. The hours are listed different on the door than they are online. I drove back to Stanford shopping Center today, only to be told that they could not accept my return because they glasses are "too badly damaged?" Too badly damaged? They have not been worn. If there is any sign of damage it's from being on display and numerous customers trying on the glasses. They were purchased by my husband and I do not care for them. They are too narrow on my face. I have the receipt and everything is still in the original packages. The purchase was made 10 days ago, well within the 30-money back return policy. Talk about a waste of time and a terrible company that does not live up to their word. I have bought tons of designer sunglasses over the years from Sunglass Hut. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE another pair of glasses from this place again. Made the mistake of purchasing a pair of expensive Persol glasses off the shelf and, with a 3 year old in hand - wasn't able to closely look as they were packaged up. I had assumed that we would end up with a new pair, free of any flaws. When I noticed the scratches and that they weren't just dust spots and couldn't be removed, we came back into the store and asked for a straight exchange. The staff working in the store that evening said there was nothing they could do other than offer a 50% refund on a new pair. When I explained again that they were sold to me damaged, they suggested coming in on the weekend when the Manager (Rebecca) who's name was on the receipt as having sold them to us - would be in. On coming in today, I had the least professional experience in retail of my life, where Rebecca simply said said 'no' with a challenging look, and then gave me an incredibly rude attitude in that she didn't appreciate the accusation of having sold me damaged goods, and to go ahead and make a complaint to corporate and post a review... it "happens all the time and hasn't stopped people from buying here". What a terrible attitude: It's the customer's fault, how dare you accuse me of this, I'll keep selling glasses anyway. It's strange, too, how there's a reoccurring theme in many of the reviews on Yelp, where the same manager(s) have pure incredulity that someone would accuse them of selling damaged products and then refuse a refund... even though it's a documented behavior. I was helped well at the store for ordering a pair of sunglasses. However, the order was never delivered. The order seemed to have lost in transit before UPS ever received it. The store couldn't help me reorder a replacement nor could process my refund. After a month long wait and calling the store multiple times trying to raise the issue, I never got any clear help. The store would commit to getting back to me with a favorable work around but I never got a call back. I have had to file a claim with the online customer support and the process is going to take 4-6 weeks before I get my refund. Overall a very unpleasant experience! Main reason for this review was that the lens had popped out (I have a 3 year old) and the Burberry store told me it would take 6 weeks to repair. I hate to do that to any business, but my experience with them was weird, and strangely resembles many other accounts on this thread.... I bought a $185 pair of sunglasses, a big deal for me. After trying on again at home I realized they were not a good fit. I brought back to the store 5 days later. The salesgirl refused to return them due to "scratches". Very strange since I never wore them. She pushed them back across the counter to me and would not budge on her formal Declaration of Scratches. A few days later I decided to go back try to return them again now that I understood their game. I just visited the same store today and a different salesgirl cheerfully took my sunglasses back and returned my money. This transaction was just as it should be. No problem. The staff that helped me is accommodating enough to look through all the screws that they have and tried almost all of them into my sunglass. If you value your time and sanity, STAY AWAY from this location! I wish I read the reviews earlier, but it's safe to say Sunglass Hut's "easy return" policy doesn't apply to this store. I'd give 0 stars for service if I could. The store manager here was all smiles and compliments when my mom and I bought an expensive pair of sunglasses. We had noticed it wasn't in the best condition but were told it was the only one left, so we took it. No warnings were made about the condition when we paid for it. Later, I came to return these completely unused sunglasses. Same manager lady (Kiara) was there but with a different attitude. She claimed the sunglasses were "scratched" and couldn't be returned - all they could honor was 50% off a new pair. Uh what? It was in the exact same condition we bought it in. She then had us stand around for 10 minutes while she "went back to check the tapes" in the back, which felt insulting and made no sense. Her reasoning was that she was checking the security footage from that day to confirm she examined the glasses before selling them. It seemed like it was all for show. Well she definitely didn't tell us there was anything that would make the glasses non-returnable when we bought it or else we wouldn't have. Honestly the worst part of this is the mental games played. I was standing there racking my brain on what I could've possibly done to scratch the glasses without using them. But now reading similar reviews of this location makes me confident that I really hadn't done anything, and was within my right to return these original condition glasses without having to deal with Kiara's attitude and lies. Confirmed that this was just a ploy, since I WAS able to return these glasses without any issues at a different location. I don't know why she goes through this routine with so many returns, but it is so frustrating to deal with. The store is larger than most Sunglass Huts and the selection is huge, but why 1 star? My girlfriend recently bought a pair of Ray-Bans from here last week. The lady that helped us was VERY rude. I know people have bad days and nobody can be nice all the time at work, but seriously, this lady was RUDE. She tugged and tore at the tag to get it off, later we found out she actually bent the frame a bit. Why not just use a pair of scissors to cut it off? Then she accidentally dropped the sunglasses and it landed on its lense. She didn't even say sorry or anything. We politely asked if she could get us another pair. This Sunglass Hut store location in Stanford Shopping Center is SOOOOOOOOO much better than the downtown Palo Alto one on University Avenue. It is bigger than the Stanford store and seems to have more selection. The Stanford store also has more knowledgeable and helpful employees. There is also parking here, unlike in downtown PA. The Stanford store helped me in the following saga: I have been to the downtown Palo Alto store on University Avenue THREE (3) times on three (3) different days on three (3) different weeks to try to return the SAME PAIR of sunglasses from the website. Each time, store employee "Kelly" (the tall, young, bottle-blonde with the tight-fitting dresses) looked me in the eyes and told me that the store's computer system was down and thus I was unable to return my sunglasses to that store. Kelly told me I should go to another store to do my return. In fact, the last time I saw Kelly, she picked up the phone, pretended to call the Sunglass Hut store in Stanford Shopping Center to confirm that its computer system was not down and that I could return my sunglasses there right then. I immediately drove over to Stanford Shopping Center and went to the Sunglass Hut store. When I told them what happened, I discovered that Kelly did not, in fact, call their store 5 minutes earlier and was LYING TO ME ALL 3 TIMES. She did this because she did not want my return to detract from her total sales figures/numbers. I could not believe Kelly would do this to me THREE (3) different days. Apparently, this is an ongoing problem with Kelly and other Sunglass Hut employees in other locations have caught on to her scheme. The Stanford store did its job and processed my online return, like Kelly SHOULD have done. Kelly, DO YOUR JOB. STOP LYING and SCHEMING. You have cost me countless hours, gasoline, and frustration. You are a lying, dishonest, trashy loser. I find it extremely offensive and disrespectful that an employee of a reputable business would behave in such a reprehensible manner. I had the worst experience here that I have had in my life!! I got a pair of sunglasses from another Sunglass Hut 2 days before and I decided not to keep them and while I was at Stanford shopping mall I wanted to return them. The only time I took out the sunglasses from their case to try them on was once at home. Other than that I didn't even touch them. The person at the Stanford store was soooo rude! First she took out the sunglasses and started to clean them and apparently there was one tiny scratch on them that you couldn't even tell and probably that's why I didn't notice when I purchased them. She didn't accept the return because of that and started yelling at us because we were trying to explain what happened when we bought them and raised her voice and told us that she was gonna call the security and kicked us out!!!
