Unfortunately, there is no shade near my family's graves. It was so hot our phone shut down from the heat. It would be nice to sit for awhile after a long drive to visit. Next time we will definitely plan to visit when it's cooler. If you go into the office someone will drive you out to where your family is. We followed behind. The lady that works at the front desk is very nice and helpful. The old lady that came out from the back and was cranky and was not wanting to take us out. She called a maintenance person to take us out. Two guys ended up showing us where to go and cleaned the vases for us. They were very nice and helpful.

The outside area that the ceremony was being held workd well for the event. Event was and adult affair. The only children were flag bearers, or their families. Attendants were all professional and friendly. Seating was provided. Still, additional chairs were needed. Some in attendance knew to bring chairs. A BBQ lunch was provided after the ceremony. Lunch was served buffet style, with staff serving the food. Adequate amount of food to feed everybody.

The sound system could use some help, as the microphone kept turning itself off. I appreciated the fact that the pews had boxes of tissues in them, this came in very handy for me. Although I didn't personally know the deceased, her daughter and I are good friends. The bathroom was very clean and there were plenty of supplies for a large or small group of people of people. A reception was held afterwards and the meal space was very nice. The tables were set up in groups and the chairs were comfortable. That is so important! It was easy to move around the room and the trash can was easy to find as well. Advantage has ample parking and the staff is very friendly. I heard the woman in charge tell my friend several times, I am here for YOU, whatever YOU need, just let me know. I know how comforting that was for her. I didn't take any pictures out of respect for the solemn occasion, but I can definitely recommend this funeral home based on being a guest.

I am writing to post a complaint regarding my recent experience with Advantage Golden Door and its…read morerepresentative, Francisco Osornio. I initially contacted Advantage Golden Door to inquire about coverage on an existing policy. Specifically, I needed a policy that included mileage coverage for the transportation of a body beyond 35 miles. This was the primary reason for my call and the main feature I was seeking. During a 43-minute phone conversation with Francisco Osornio, the topic of mileage was briefly mentioned, and I recall him referencing 75 miles at one point. However, this was not clearly explained, emphasized, or verified. At no time did he explicitly state that the policy he was offering did not match the coverage I had called about. There was no clear confirmation or verification that the policy he was selling was not what I had originally called for, nor did he verify that I understood this difference before proceeding. He never clarified, "You are asking for coverage A, but the only policy available is coverage B -- is that acceptable to you?" Instead, he proceeded to finalize the sale and accepted my payment. When I later contacted him to request documentation confirming the mileage coverage, he provided only a pamphlet that contained no detailed information addressing my specific concern. When I pressed further, he eventually admitted that the policy he sold me did not include the coverage I had originally requested. When I expressed that this was not what I believed I was purchasing, he responded, "Well, I told you." While mileage may have been briefly mentioned during the call, it was not made plainly clear that the policy did not meet my stated need. There was no effort to ensure that I fully understood I was not receiving the coverage I specifically called about. I attempted to resolve the issue by asking to involve management. Francisco stated he was driving and would handle it and get back to me after speaking with a manager. I never received a follow-up call. Subsequent attempts to reach him went unanswered. When I called Advantage Golden Door directly, my call was routed to the front desk, where a man answered, said "goodbye," and disconnected the call. This entire experience has been deeply frustrating and concerning. Insurance policies dealing with the transportation of remains are sensitive matters involving loved ones and end-of-life arrangements. The lack of transparency, professionalism, and follow-through I experienced is alarming and disheartening. I strongly advise anyone reading this to carefully reconsider and look elsewhere for these services. Update: I tried to cancel the prepaid services they sold me within the 30-day cancellation window, but I haven't been able to reach anyone. I received a message from Francisco Osornio's manager, but I have yet to speak with her. I have tried contacting them for over a week. They take messages, but they haven't called me back. I wish I had seen some of these reviews before I furthered any services with them.

The cemetery itself is a little smaller than others I've seen but nice because it's walking distance. You can even drive on the dirt and park closer. The viewing room is spacious. They even have side room as well. It has comfortable chairs and each row provides tissue boxes. They had flowers for purchase. They also supplied us with little pamphlets with our family members names, pens, and sign in binders. I believe they even allowed us to have own person to come officiate because we wanted a monk for the prayers. The services depends on the package you purchase. The casket is nice and elegant for what we wanted. John and his staff did an amazing job with everything. For one of the funerals, they had a vehicle drive the casket to our Catholic Church and back with police escort. I think there was even people that helped us carry the casket too. The cremation process was easy and they provided us a nice vase to put the ashes in. For another funeral, the burial process went smooth as well. The staff had a gurney transport the casket to the vehicle. They had set up a canopy for shade and chairs to sit while being outside for a long time. Luckily, our spot was easy to get to. The workers communicated very well. They asked us preference on how the dirt should be covered with the flowers on top of it. They sympathized with our family and told us that we are welcome back anytime for visiting since they are open 24/7. They allowed us to take as much time as we wanted and didn't rush us. Funerals can be pretty expensive but I really appreciate this place working with our family in a short amount of time (one week). Last thing we need do it pay for the gravestone. We will be returning for that. Overall good experience.

When I reached them, I was told I needed an appointment and couldn't be seen until the following day. Before scheduling, I was required to complete an online questionnaire. I was repeatedly told that only two people were allowed in the building. I wanted my son and daughter-in-law with me, but was told one of them would have to wait outside. I was also informed we would have only two minutes to view my husband, and that additional time would incur an extra charge. Because of these policies, I decided to transfer my husband to another funeral home. I was charged $575 for the less than 24 hours he was in their care. The office manager emailed documents for me to sign electronically but did not respond to three emails requesting help when I was unable to complete them. After finally signing the paperwork and paying the fee, the receiving funeral home attempted to pick up my husband that afternoon. The office manager declined to wait a few minutes before closing, so the transfer had to be delayed until the next day. The director of the receiving funeral home commented that he was surprised I had been charged. According to him, the office manager replied, "We're in business to make money." She showed not only expertise and knowledge, but most importantly, she showed compassion, empathy, and truly changed a dreaded experience to something that we can look back on with true peace.
