I booked an Adventure Tour for my cousin's bachelor party and let me tell you this was the HIGHLIGHT of my weekend! We spent 2 days skii'ing in Aspen and did some crazy stuff, but this tour was the icing on the cake. The tour guides Ty, Matt(?) and Steve were awesome dudes. They were patient with the slower folks and they let the rest of us rip if we wanted to. I'm so glad they only had the Adventure tour that day because it was a beautiful long ~30 mile run where you basically could take the snowmobiles to the limits if you wanted to! I surprised my fiancé with this tour for a part of a surprise weekend birthday bash! Best snowmobiling tour I have ever been on. The guides are the absolute best. Ty was our guide and he was awesome! He is very kind, fun, funny, knowledgeable, and just makes you feel very comfortable on the snowmobile. They explain everything to you and take very good care of you while on the tour. On a clear day you can see all of the mountains that surround Sunlight Mountain. You go up about 10,000 feet through the gorgeous Alpine's when you're on top out of the tree line. WARNING: DRESS as WARM as humanly possible. It does get very cold when you're starting to go faster and faster especially down hill, so layer up! Our group of 6 joined 6 others and had the best time at Sunlight! We did the adventure package and we're not disappointed! The trails, snowmobiles, and tour guide (Ty!) were phenomenal. Ty explained all aspects of the gear and ride that made our entire group feel at ease (majority of us were first timers). Everyone was beaming and hooting the whole 2.5 hours. This tour was awesome! Our tour guide was energetic and fun. He knew all the hot spots to stop at so that we could experience amazing Mountain views. We got some great photos. From then on we had an adrenaline rush. Full speed through the mountains. We even caught some snow during our tour which was amazing, being that I am from sunny Florida! Made the 2 hour trip from Silverthorne to Sunlight to go snowmobiling this spring break and it was well worth it. Ty and Bob were great guides and are very thorough in helping you understand the sleds and what to do/not do. They allow you to go at your own pace with stops planned to let everyone catch up, take pictures and enjoy the beauty around you. Last year we had did one closer to Summit County, which was ok, allowed for more training rides, but also required a 20 min bus ride to the sleds. A few years back I had gone one at Sunlight and wanted to take the family back to see it. The drive on 70 West is very scenic, but we had some anxiety as there was no snow, zero. Not on the way to Glenwood, in Glenwood, and half way up Sunlight Mountain was dry. Fearing the worst, we pushed on, finally seeing some snow as we pulled in. Their amenities are bare to say the least. But what it might lack in the resort style facilities it makes up with first class snowmobiles and equipment. It's a short walk from the lodge to the snowmobiles where the snow started. After a thorough demo of how to operate them, we were off into a snowy winter wonderland, couldn't have been more picturesque. We went with two snowmobiles, with our 9 year old and 11 year old riding behind us. Worked out great. Remember to tip your guides, they work hard! read more

We did the Adventure Tour and let me tell you....it was worth every penny!!! First off, the scenery was simply breathtaking. So incredibly beautiful. We had a group of 5, and most of us had snowmobiled once before. We really enjoyed learning more about how to ride aggressively and different techniques. The guides were AWESOME! So much fun and also very attentive to the groups different needs. Prior to entering rough terrain, they would stop and teach us the best way to navigate through, so it was easy to handle. The machines were also fantastic. Very comfortable especially if you were carrying a passenger. We felt 1000% safe, and had THE BEST time!!! 3 hours felt too short...none of us wanted the adventure to end. Thank you Ty, Steve and Travis!!! read more

We were 10 people and were able to get a great deal on all of us going out. The snowmobiles were easy to use especially since we had a group of people from all shapes and sizes. We were able to stop incrementally to get amazing pictures of the beautiful scenery. We could choose between being part of the fast and loose tour or the slow and paced tour. I chose fast and loose and it was the best decision possible. We all agreed to come back here next year and this time make more than one reservation. What a day! Steve was our tour guide for the Adventure Tour. As first time snowmobile riders, he made us feel comfortable and explained everything. He stopped intermittently along the trail to point out items of interest and allow us to take pictures. It was a great family experience; we had so much fun!! It's worth it to pay a little extra for the part where they 'cut you loose' in a big open area, it was easily the best part of the day. I recommend that you bring shoe insert warmers, they are the same as hot hands, just for your feet! If you don't have them, you can buy them prior to your departure when you pay. Wear LOTS of warm layers and bring sunglasses. If you don't have the appropriate outer layers or boots, the company has ones you can borrow. It was about 15 degrees when we departed and I was thankful for the warmth! You'll see some of the most beautiful views and scenery!! Highly recommended. read more

Did the Adventure Ride w/ my hubby & 3 daughters and couldn't have had a better time. The guys that run the Tours are extremely helpful, friendly & most importantly extremely knowledgeable. Their snowmobiles are late models also, very nice. The entire tour takes place inside the White River National Forest. The trails are beautiful. Halfway thru the tour, the entire group gets to free ride in a huge, beautiful meadow for about 20 minutes. This was my 8-yr old's (and mommy's!) favorite part of the tour. The guide also stops at several different 'photo op' areas with the most gorgeous views of Mt. Sopris and the surrounding mountains & give you plenty of time to take pics. Snowmobiling great family fun. Visited Sunlight Mountain Snowmobile tours for the third year. Ty and his crew make this a great trip for novice thru expert. We did the adventure tour again. 2 1/2 plus hours of fun way out in the mountains. Everyone starts together and then they break the groups down by levels and/or desired speed. They trained us and made everyone comfortable with the machines. After a long trail (many miles) you arrive at a huge open tree lined field (maybe the size of 8-10 football fields). They let you know what areas are safe and let you drive to your hearts content. Every year we have had such a great time and think it can't get any better, but Ty does not disappoint. Last year we learned to drive in three feet of powder. This year we had 6 inches to a foot and a ton of time in the the open area to have fun at our own speed. My wife and two boys also had their own sleds. On the way back our awesome guide Edwin took us thru some virgin trails (our group showed we could handle it) on the 30 min ride back. I hear they may start a full day trip! Can't wait. They run a super friendly and keep everyone safe operation. We definitely will be back. read more

We signed up for the Family Tour and AJ was extremely patient with all of us. He made sure we each knew how to handle the snowmobiles and that we were all feeling warm, cozy and confident. I had never been on one before, but figured it out quickly and did very well on it. We took our five year old with us and she had the time of her life. She was able to ride in front of Daddy on his "sled" and by the end was begging him to go faster. The views were incredible. AJ took us to the top of the mountain and let us walk around and take pictures. It started to snow while we were up there and it was exactly what we were wanting our daughter to experience. This trip is worth every single penny. We were so disappointed that it was over, we booked another trip and signed up for the Adventure Tour (21/2 hours). If you have never ridden a snowmobile before, be sure to do the Family Trip first or instead. Ty was our guide for the adventure tour and could not have been more fun. He made us laugh til my cheeks hurt and is truly made for this sort of occupation. He's fantastic. Our ride did not go as planned due to unforeseeable circumstances with another group, and we had to cut the trip short.
