Kim was honestly the only website that I came across that seemed authentic and genuine (plus she was super transparent in everything, which I really valued and set her apart. No hoops or calls or emails to find out all the details and pricing or reviews or information). I could easily tell that this was something she cared deeply for and was putting all of herself into. Once we chatted, I knew that this was the person I could trust to do my brows-- the one thing I have complained about for the past two years. Being me, I came in with a ton of different questions about how everything was going to go down. Kim is kind, warm, and enthusiastic. She makes you feel immediately at ease. Once we got started, she let me check, change, and check again before we ever even got to the microblading process. We are both perfectionist and she took her time to make sure I knew exactly what they were going to look like (and let me tweak thing when I change my mind). The time passed in a flash and we had a great time throughout the process. Kim answered every question I had, let me look at alllll the tools and products (plus ask more questions), and just generally made me feel so comfortable and informed about every step of the process. I knew exactly what was happening during every second of the process. Most importantly, I came out of our time together being so excited about the work she did. I love my brows now and I am so impressed with how they turned out. I came in not really know what to expect but I was truly blown away by the results. Even after my touchup appointment, I got a little sad that I wont be coming back again for a little while. For starters, there were several times during my appointment where a staff member(s) would either 1) stand by the person doing my nails and talk to them specifically without acknowledging my presence and/or 2) stare at me from a distance with other staff members. Additionally, I noticed other customers staring at me as well. Nothing wrong with the stares perhaps; at the same time, there is a difference between looking at someone briefly and staring someone down. Again, I received "stares." All in all, I would say the "vibe" from a third person perspective (specifically, my perspective) was othering. The only reason I left a one star review is because the person who did my nails was excellent at doing their job. As someone who enjoys getting their nails done, I am very well versed in acrylic nails and what I like in them. So the person (Noah) was meticulous and patient. I enjoyed that. Additionally, I really love the finished product - I did not provide a picture because I want to make sure my words are acknowledged first and foremost. I would not recommend this business to anyone who is similar to my identity: Black, queer, neurodivergent, or (such as myself) ALL the above. Additionally, I would not recommend this establishment to individuals who are new to the world of acrylic nails. Suggestion (if you feel disappointed by this review and you're looking for someone to do your nails): invest in independent nail technicians! After this experience, I have realized that as an intentional kind of person, an independent nail technician may be the best way to go. I enjoy having conversation, and I believe independent nail technician's (depending on who you go to) may be able to provide that intentionality I am looking for.
