I come here pretty often because of the location, and I've found them to be pretty consistent in delivering fresh poke and bubble tea. Something I like here is that a lot of the proteins are marinated/sauced, and the marinades are very tasty, although this does result in the bowls coming out really saucy when you add sauces and dressings on top of that. All of the poke I've ordered has come out delicious. The unagi in the unagi don was a little tough, but the other proteins seem to be good quality and the veggies are fresh. Even the small bowl is filling enough for a meal for me, and since most toppings are free, you can load up with the veggies you want. I never feel like they get stingy with the portions. I'm not super impressed with the other food besides poke. It's not bad but nothing special. The spring rolls were unoffensive but could've been grocery store frozen spring rolls, and were only served with the duck sauce packets you get with Chinese takeout. The caramel pudding was okay but the texture was a little grainy. They have really good drinks if you know what to order. Some of their bubble tea is just the basic flavoured stuff, but the fancy-sounding teas - anything from the specialty drink series or pure tea series - are really good. They do run a bit sweet and I'm still not sure if you can adjust the sugar level. Maybe I'll remember to ask next time now that I've written it down. The staff here are nice, and the assembly-line ordering for the poke means it's very fast to grab food here. They take a little longer to make drinks but they're still usually a little faster than most bubble tea places in town. read more

Assembly-line-style, but very tasty for what it is--poke (fish and salads) are fresh, rice is cooked perfectly, toppings and mix-ins are of good quality. I think the specifically poke dishes could be seasoned more heavily, though--it doesn't pop as much as some places out west. They have egg tarts that seem quite fresh, but they're not the best I've had. They're more eggy than custardy, with a bit of a scrambled texture in the middle, but they'll do if you're desperate. read more

Absolutely love this little tea shop ! They have a wide variety of teas and add-ins. The price may seem a little steep, but the flavor is totally worth it ! I'm so glad that I work just down the road, because I could walk here every day. So far I have only tried three of their teas: the pineapple milk tea, the coconut milk tea, and the matcha milk tea. Wasn't pleased with my poke bowl. Rice was bland and unseasoned (furikake seasoning wasn't even an option). Paid an extra $1 for avocado and got a tablespoon of it, mashed. The spicy marinated salmon was literally a paste, not small coated salmon chunks like I expected and wanted. The shrimp was ok. But, you literally get no shrimp or salmon. You pay for a bowl of rice and they give you 1-2 ounces of seafood. The cucumber had a weird taste - thought it was cabbage at first. They didn't put enough spicy mayo on. Not pleased, especially given this meal was $13 and $25 after Uber Eats fees and tip. Won't be returning. Maybe I'll try the bubble tea. Probably not. Disappointed!!! read more

Love this place. They don't have peanuts anymore. And they now have signs on the glass panels surrounding the ordering counter that specify which ingredients and sauces contain sesame. So I'd say that's a step in the right direction. They also offer very filling brown rice as a base option, so I get that when I need something more than white rice to sustain me through the day. Generally I get the 2-protein option, and I pick the proteins that are actually filling -- like the chicken breast, tofu, salmon/tuna, for example. The ingredients are always fresh. It is worth it if you know what to order; and for the amount that I pay for the 2 protein option, it really isn't that much more than if I were to eat at one of the other restaurants on the same street after factoring in tips for table service (which you do not have to for this Poké place). And it's by far healthier and more nutritious than most other things I can get on the same stretch of restaurants. And it's super fast, perfect for grabbing something quick and healthy in between classes. So this is a clear winner for me. read more

So it's not really that great. Don't get me wrong it is poke, but way too low on actual toppings and fish. About a 12 to 1 ratio of rice to fish/toppings. And it cost quite a bit for what I got. Also it would be nice if they has specific premade bowls for newbies cuz I could totally see someone who doesn't eat poke often get lost. Redeeming factor is the Brown Sugar Milk Boba was decent. As you can see in the picture, protein portion was about a tablespoon. The food was filled to about half the bowl. I cannot believe I spent almost $14 for a VERY small bowl of brown rice, a tiny portion of vegetables, and even less poke tuna. This ridiculously overpriced and underwhelming "restaurant" is ripping people off. DO NOT GO HERE! I was charged extra at the register for tomatoes and seaweed. They fill the bowl (which is super small to begin with) with rice and then put on meager amounts of toppings. Sadly, the tuna is tasteless, the ponzu sauce is maybe good, but the guy put so little on, who would know?? And rice and veggies taste like unflavored rice and veggies. I love Poke, but I cannot eat at this restaurant because they leave peanuts sitting out. I called them after my first visit and told them that their peanuts should be kept separate from the other ingredients, but they never accommodated. It would be very easy for them to keep peanuts away from all of the other toppings, or just not offer them. What's good about Sunny Poke? It's great to have an alternative to the burgers and Mexican food restaurants that are pervasive in southern Indiana. The fish is fresh and the vegetables taste fine. What's not good? I had a few problems with the bowl I got. First, the large bowl was $12. This in itself is not too much, but paying in that range for a fast casual meal comes with expectations. One of these expectations is the amount of fish that comes in your bowl. I was served two very skimpy scoops. Maybe 10-12 dice sized chunks of fish total. In a huge bowl of rice and vegetables, that seems way too little for the star attraction of a poke place. The second issue I had was the lack of refinement in the ingredients. Whereas other poke restaurants (I'm comparing to Indianapolis) might have prepared and seasoned vegetables to include, Sunny Poke gives you corn from the can, long stringy carrots, and clumps of ginger. It's just less fun that other poke bowls I've tried. So overall, it's okay. Not a great meal, and could be a much better value. read more
