First, for mall sushi, it's pretty good. They have good prices, portions, and flavor. It's no Japones, but it's mall sushi!

Something I like here is that a lot of the proteins are marinated/sauced, and the marinades are very tasty, although this does result in the bowls coming out really saucy when you add sauces and dressings on top of that. All of the poke I've ordered has come out delicious. The unagi in the unagi don was a little tough, but the other proteins seem to be good quality and the veggies are fresh. Even the small bowl is filling enough for a meal for me, and since most toppings are free, you can load up with the veggies you want. I never feel like they get stingy with the portions. I'm not super impressed with the other food besides poke. It's not bad but nothing special. The spring rolls were unoffensive but could've been grocery store frozen spring rolls, and were only served with the duck sauce packets you get with Chinese takeout. The caramel pudding was okay but the texture was a little grainy. They have really good drinks if you know what to order. Some of their bubble tea is just the basic flavoured stuff, but the fancy-sounding teas - anything from the specialty drink series or pure tea series - are really good. They do run a bit sweet and I'm still not sure if you can adjust the sugar level. Maybe I'll remember to ask next time now that I've written it down. The staff here are nice, and the assembly-line ordering for the poke means it's very fast to grab food here. They take a little longer to make drinks but they're still usually a little faster than most bubble tea places in town.

Overall, a solid spot - especially for poke…read more The poke bowls are really good: fresh ingredients, nice portions, and a great variety of toppings and combinations to choose from. It's a reliable place if you're craving something quick, customizable, and satisfying. They also have a wide selection of boba drinks with lots of different flavors, which is great in terms of variety. That said, I found the drinks to be a bit too sweet for my taste, and it would be great if there were adjustment options available. That's really the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. Still, a great option in Bloomington for both poke and boba - just be mindful of the boba if you do get it here.

I ate a sushi burrito in LA in like 2019, and then couldn't stop thinking about it for years…read more Little did I know, sushi burritos exist in Indy! My friend had been telling me about her favorite bubble tea spot for months, and when we finally went, I was so happy to see they also have custom poke and sushi burritos and delicious onigiri options. The inside is super cute and was very clean when we went. Service is quick and unfussy, so this would be a great option if you need to pick up a to go order, but it's also a nice spot to stop for a quick lunch break. It's cozy and quiet so could even be a good place to work or study if you're looking off the beaten path on Mass Ave. Aside from the onigiri, most of the food is totally custom and made to order, so you can really get whatever you want. You order on a paper menu like at a sushi restaurant, picking exactly what you like--and honestly, you can go wild here. For the base price of $11.50 (for burritos and bowls), you pick your base, protein, up to two sauces, and then add as many of the mix-ins and toppings as you want. A steal, imo! There are several ways to make this vegetarian (I got tofu), and it could be gluten free, too, if you're careful about sauces. I ordered my burrito and a peach black tea with aloe jelly. Now I can't stop dreaming of the tea, either. Will be back asap. This is better than LA!

It was super fresh and filling! You order food by filling out a printed piece of paper at the center round table in the center of the restaurant. You check off what you'd like. If you just want a drink you can order at the counter. Service was quick! I liked the atmosphere! It felt cozy and intimate. There's not a whole lot of seating, but the restaurant is also on the smaller side. Everything is packaged to be able to take to go though!

I recently tried Slap's Fish Market and sampled a little bit of everything--lobster roll, burrito,…read morecheesecake, and their lobster deviled eggs--and overall it was a really memorable experience. The service was very helpful deciding what to order. The setting was fun down town indanopolis feel. The lobster roll was definitely the standout. It was packed with fresh, flavorful lobster and had a nice balance of buttery richness without feeling too heavy. You can tell the seafood is high quality, which makes a huge difference. The lobster deviled eggs were super unique and honestly one of my favorite bites. Creamy, slightly tangy, and topped with lobster--it's not something you see everywhere, and they executed it really well. My husband tried the shrimp burrito, which was great for a seafood spot. It was hearty, well-seasoned, and filled generously. It didn't feel like an afterthought on the menu. To finish, the cheesecake was a great choice it was from the cheesecake factory is what the offered for my birthday smooth, rich, and just the right level of sweetness with a strawberry topping to end the meal without being overwhelming. Overall, Slap's Fish Market delivers on both creativity and quality. It's a great spot if you want fresh seafood with a few fun, unexpected twists. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

Not gonna lie, my work group really likes coming here when we have lunch outings. My only problem?…read moreI very much dislike seafood to any capacity. Yet, I still eat here just fine. I feel like most seafood places will have vegetarian options by way of removing the fish from pasta dishes or salad, but it's also nice to know that you can get chicken as a substitute on most of these kinds of dishes, too. Granted, it's just like chicken tenders, but still good nonetheless. I really like their firecracker pasta, which is moderately spicy in my opinion. There's no particular fishy smell here, which is always a good sign that the seafood they serve here is freshly prepared. Our food always comes out quickly for lunch and we've been a group as large as 8 or 9. I do believe that ordering is mostly done online in their mass Ave location, though. I don't really seek out a place like Slapfish on my own (no offense at all, just not a seafood girlie!!), but I would assume that it's a rather popular establishment as they recently opened a fifth location in the greater Indy area. If I did like fish and such more, I'd probably be here on a more regular rotation.
