And he only charged me what the seller was willing to cover!! All while chatting like we were old friends, giving me insight on the trails to ride in the area (I'm new here) and just making me feel right at home. This year we need to extend our rental an extra day and that was painless as well. When you come back to return, just drop off outside and show them your paperwork, it's a very quick process. We got a tandem kayak and it was so convenient to just be able to walk over to Boulder Bay Park and start kayaking. Also nice to see youth sizes in clothing, protection, and other gear. They are better stocked than many "down the hill" bike shops. Unfortunately (for me) I had to hit them up mid-day on a Saturday after my chain wrapped itself around a crank (!) during a ride at Summit. They were happy to have a look and the mechanic had me back out the door with a new chain in about 15 minutes. Would gladly go back for gear or service.

After doing some research we decided it'd be a better value to do the big bear lake tour. We had done the waivers online which made check in with Tracey super easy! Our tour was captain Paul which was very informative about big bears rich history. We had our 10 month old baby on the tour which he advised us we'd be getting wet in the front of the boat, we decided to take our changes and stay in front he then offered us some blankets to help keep us and our baby dry and warm which definitely came in handy! If you've never had a big bear lake tour I definitely recommend taking one at big bear Marina definitely learned a lot about big bears history!

They explain the rules of the lake, you check in on a sheet of paper, and then they quickly get you situated in a kayak and send you off. Very efficient, no time wasted. They're very patient when it comes to getting you in and out of your kayak if you have a dog. I'm not sure if all kayak places have this, but it was nice that they had pads specifically for dogs to sit/lay on so that they're comfortable. Will definitely always come back here for kayaking in Big Bear.

In one corner, there's everything you need to know or buy for a ski resort experience, ticketing, souvenirs, T-shirts, sweatshirts, postcards (I admired the wooden ones), Christmas ornaments, even dog sweaters. The woman working this station was kind and friendly. In the center, a large model map of Big Bear is there for viewing and the main counter for information on everything Big Bear. There's a wall of pamphlets for recreation, restaurant guides and hiking trail maps. I took a couple stickers and a hiking trail map while listening to the main Information Manager speak on the phone in a kind and understanding manner while some entitled person ran the poor woman through the wringer about why this and why that isn't discounted etc. The information manager never broke character on her professional stance and continued for no less than 15 minutes of warding off some maniacal caller. I felt for her. These women deserve better. I originally wanted to go in for their 'Care for Big Bear' kit, since I'm all about that idea. However, the caller took over our visit. We will try again in a week or two. I remember the old location on Bartlett, it was nice too. This new location is so beautiful. You're doing a great job Visitors Center. We Love Our Big Bear! We love those who pack it in-pack it out.
