We stayed in cabin 8. The place is clean. I wish the kitchen had a sponge to wash dishes. They provided salt, pepper, and dawn dish soap. Other air bnb's I stayed at had spices and olive oil which is nice to have. The bathroom had hard soap and bottled soaps and shampoos. You can request more supplies on a website. There was one parking spot for our cabin. No cable TV or local channels. You need to have Netflix login. Wifi was strong. BBQ gas grill dedicated to our cabin. read more

Stayed in Unit 1. Not what was pictured. For the price paid, this was a major ouch! So grateful to have the hot tub and time away but it wasn't clear on Airbnb that it wasn't adjoining and you'd have to walk outside. Hot tub area outside we were unable to locate any exterior lights at night. We were in a cage like area surrounded by wooden fencing- odd but relaxing- only room for two to stretch out. The room was not well-kept. It was listed as dog-friendly (we did not bring a dog) but no reason to let this room be destroyed. Walls were chipped, doors scratched, and the sink oddly cracking. Bathroom gurgling constantly made me wonder what plumbing issues were going on and just what was coming up in there. Be forewarned the tub/shower is so tall it isn't accessible and you only have 2 ft of tub space to enter/exit because of where they placed the toilet. Bed slept fine, but we agreed the unit needs some upkeep. Felt like this was their "let anything go" spot". FYI This unit doesn't have a kitchenette. Ok experience and a good place to crash after a day of fun in the mountains. Luxury it is not so if that's your thing go elsewhere. read more

Stayed here right at New Years 2022, convenient and great location just minutes from the Rocky Mountain park, beautiful views and a short walk to a small river below the cabins. We've stayed in Estes Park many times with Rocky Mountain Resorts, and twice at Sunnyside Knoll. Both times, we've stayed in cabin 19. It's a little double at the top of the property, somewhat tucked away. It has a king sized bed, sofa, jacuzzi tub, fireplace, and a full bath with walk-in shower. It doesn't have a full kitchen, but does have a decent sized mini fridge (plenty of space for drinks and a moderate grocery run) and a two burner cooktop. The cabin has always been clean, and our last visit was no exception. The windows open up to a nice grassy area, and we've seen rabbits and other small creatures running through on occasion. We spend an evening or two eating at the cabin, utilizing the grill and taking the opportunity to just soak up some nature. Being from the south, we live off of A/c. However- opening a few windows and kicking on the ceiling fan fixes the temp issues in almost an instant. We usually leave the window cracked a tiny bit at night so it doesn't get stuffy. The short list of cons: the deck / stairs up to the front door have seen better days. The railing is loose in a few spots, and we found a loose board in the deck. Not the end of the world by any means, but definitely worth noting / knowing. I'm already thinking about our next trip.... we just left this morning, hahah. read more

My girlfriend and I went up to Estes Park for my Uncles wedding. I was hoping to get us rooms at The Stanley and I so happy I didn't. I reserved unit #1 and was extremely pleased. We showed up after the office had closed which wasn't a problem as they have a box with you key ready if you are a late checking in. Our spa was very clean and comfortable. The decor matched which was a worry because prior "cabins" I've stayed at had such random items and decor in the rooms. Very comfortable bed, tons of clean fluffy towels, cold fridge, microwave and a nice set of plates, glasses, and silverware should you want to make food yourself in the room or on the nice bbq's located all over the property. I needed an iron and ironing board and that was not a problem getting it from the office. The staff was very nice and attentive. Went to The Stanley Hotel in the evening for drinks with family and friends after the wedding and I have to say it is VERY overrated. This place is only a 20-30 minute walk from town and it is a very pleasant one. Highly recommend!!! read more

My boyfriend and I took a trip up to Estes Park to get away from the city and the stress. We have never been to Estes Park before and didn't know where to stay/what to expect. I was so pleasantly surprised with Sunnyside Knolls. Our cabin was the perfect size for us and our dog, we were able to cook meals pretty easily. I will say in cabin #9 the fridge was a mini-fridge so don't over shop! Town is also very close to be able to go in for a couple of meals. We loved the jacuzzi! It was nice and clean and had great views of nature and the stars at night. I would highly recommend this place for a nice weekend getaway! read more

We stayed at Sunnyside Knoll in Cabin 16. The view from our private hot tub was killer. We had mountain goats (or sheep?) climbing on the rocks and saw a big red fox run by as we enjoyed the bubbles. Beautiful! There are plenty of really nice towels provided. We didn't have to use the extra ones we brought, which was a nice surprise. The unit was clean, although the furniture is REALLLLLY in need of updating. Very weird setup in the living room. TV's aren't great. And the dining room table and chairs are pretty disgusting, to be honest. Paint splatter and just gross fabric. I didn't sit on the chairs even once because I thought they were so icky. The kitchen has a medium fridge and freezer and an oven/stovetop/microwave/dishwasher. Coffee maker was broken and stovetop burners were crooked, so your pans were tilted and slid off the burner. However, Really nice knife set!! Really could have used some mixing/serving bowls and a pan for the oven (I bought one at Safeway) to bake some chicken. Cabin had what we needed for a few nights, but far from luxurious. Would easily accommodate a blow up mattress in front of the fireplace for extra guests. Pictures of the unit show the couch in front of the fireplace, but it's actually in front of the picture window facing the little tv. So there is a big open space in front of the fireplace. We moved the chair from the bedroom into the living room for additional seating. Again, very poor setup of living room furniture in relation to the room and fireplace. I think this is due to where the cable outlet is coming out of the wall so the room has been rearranged to face the TV set up. MOVE THE CABLE OUTLET and rearrange the living room and I promise, people will be happier. Add a coffee table and a few more arm chairs. Make it cozy!! The hot tub and fireplace kept us pretty happy. With the winter special it was a good deal, but I wouldn't pay more than the $250 total for Saturday and Sunday nights. Overall, staff at Fawn Valley Inn (where we were required to check in) were very, very nice. Oh, and you have to pay $4 a bundle for your firewood. We used 3 bundles in about 36 hours. They also give you great little fire starter packets. :) Not bad. WIFI does NOT WORK even from the Cabin #16 right across from the office. Bring your mobile hot spot or expect to have to go sit in the rec room if you need internet access. read more

The room was nice and cozy. The hot tub was hot and inviting. I would have given this place 5 stars, but there were a few minor layout issues. No light by the kitchen area and couldn't find a plug in in the kitchen (had to plug in the toaster on the fireplace mantel).. The bathroom fan was super loud and annoying too. One last negative - the exit out of the complex was pretty scary at times when turning left to go into town. Minor annoyances to say the least. I was not that impressed with this place. The room was sufficient and it seemed clean, for a dog friendly room. I think my bias is that after spending a lot of time in this area, I prefer the other side of Estes. It's a bit quieter and not as touristy. My husband and I both agreed on that but we thought we would give it a try. Rooms were not that costly off season which appealed to us. read more

Stayed in #17 and absolutely loved it! Comfortable and clean. Furniture and decor were nice. Gas fire place warmed the living room nicely. Kitchen was modern and well stocked. Hot tub was very relaxing and clean. We'll definitely stay again. (WiFi isn't great) read more

We stayed here for two nights in December to do some snowshoeing in the park, and we had a lovely time. Sunnyside Knoll is on Fall River Road so you have easy access to the park and in the winter the road is quiet, so tho our standard room faced the street we never heard any traffic noise. Our room had a wood burning fireplace, which was lovely! Especially as ours at home doesn't work... and a jet tub bathtub! Dearly needed after a day of hiking up to Mills Lake (also, outdoor hot tub with twinkling lights hanging in the nearby pine tree and a heated changing room). We would definitely stay here again, especially as it is very economical for poverty ridden graduate students with their winter rates. We had a great time sitting by the fire watching DVDs borrowed from the office, and our room was very clean and warm. read more

Hot tub needed servicing, after reading the guest journal, several guests have complained about it since last September.There were several verticle blinds that were missing in the bathroom, which another cabin looked directly into.The couch was slanted awkwardly forward, making it very difficult to even sit on the couch.We did speak with the front desk, I am hoping these issues will be fixed.We were unhappy with this cabin, especially when we have stayed at nicer ones for less money. We will not stay at Sunnyside Knoll again.However, we have stayed at Timber Creeek Lodge, under the same management, and had a great experience there. read more

Nice little cabin was kept up well. Only complaint was the in-room hot tub was more like a warm tub. Didn't get that awesome hot tub relaxing feeling which is the whole reason we went up. The room was clean and well stocked with everything you need and more. lots of extra towels, pillows, blankets, coffee, etc. SOFT linens and towels. Very comfy, king size bed with soft, cozy blankets. REAL, soft TP and tissues. we had the unit with the private hot tub which was hot, clean and ready to go. can't wait to stay here again. read more

My girlfriend and I have been staying with Sunnyside Knoll Resort for 3 years now. I feel it is important to mention that this review is not a reflection of the property location, or even the housekeeping for that matter. We have always been satisfied with the cleanliness and luxuries offered by the resort. Rather, this review is a testament to the upkeep of the property and the overall service we received. The duplex we stayed in on our first visit was fairly new at the time and very welcoming. We were greeted with your typical inconveniences--paper thin walls, missing refrigerator handle, dead flies and dust on windowsill, and an incomplete kitchenette just to name a few--but nothing inimical to our overall experience. We chalked it up as minor mishaps and left at the end of the weekend satisfied entirely. Upon our visit the next year things began to change. This is where I will get specific because after our visits over the following years we came to realize that these issues were not flukes, but rather an embodiment of the property's upkeep and a reflection of the management. Guests are expected to clean dishes and take out trash. Great! I'm all for people cleaning up after themselves. However, the kitchenette is only equipped with papers towels and soap. Envisioning dirty plates put away with nothing more than a quick towel buffering is very unsettling feeling after a full dinner. The property is littered with trash. Upon checkout they assured us the wind brought it in, but I find it hard to believe a neat pile of cigarette butts appeared by chance. Half the windows on the property are broken (https://tinyurl.com/htmc2hk). Want to enjoy the crisp winter air while soaking in a hot Jacuzzi? Don't count on it. Broken fixtures don't stop at the windows; some are even held on to the wall by tape! The icing on the cake occurred after a long day of hiking through a snowy Rocky Mountain National Park. Looking forward to a warm bath and dinner we arrived back to our room and noticed a guest. After getting inside I can hear our neighbor's Jacuzzi jets running. Great idea, I'll get ours started! Out comes the ice cold water. No Jacuzzi, no shower, no dishes. We ended up just going to bed dirty and disappointed. I woke up a few hours later to confirm my suspicion and sure enough the sink gave out the hot water we so desperately desired earlier. If a property is advertising a massive Jacuzzi tub as a focal selling point then there should be every precaution in place to assure guests receive the service they paid for. There is no excuse for this neglected upkeep, especially at 180.00 a night. Once we arrived at checkout I politely expressed these concerns with receptionist and she kindly listened, assuring me at the end of my rant that management would get back to me. It has now been a week without even the slightest buzz of a reply. What boggles my mind is that all the other properties run by this company receive outstanding reviews and feedback. Sunnyside Knoll comes off as the red headed step child and they seem too inclined to turn a shoulder to their property and customers. The property is a no man's land and it shows more and more with every passing year. We certainly won't be coming back and we advise you to spend your money elsewhere. read more

After reading previous reviews, I can tell you that both hot tubs were HOT. So hot, it took us a minute to get in! It was wonderful watching the thunderstorm from the tubs. Also, the cabins must have been updated recently, because I did not see any of the negatives talked about in previous reviews. I can tell you that #15 was slightly more updated than #16.
