Great gas station. Glad they sell e85 as this station is on route to my commute to work and back home.

Only I know of to get performance gas. Love the road set up to get gas. Plenty of pumps. Expensive performance gas. Easy to find.

Went up to the pump, inserted my debit/credit card, did all the pertinent stuff to have my card declined. Finally went into the store because thats what the pump told me to do. The cashier tried my card and said to me, "That's the problem, your card has been declined". I know there were enough funds to cover so I called my bank. They replied enough funds were on hand and that the problem was the pumps weren't reading the expiration date on the card. I did that 3 times! The 4th time was in the store where it did read the date, but declined anyway. My bank told me something was not right with the station's system and that the card automatically will stop working at that location. I went into the store to explain to them what happened. I let them know that they should fix it. I wasn't being nasty about it, but I would at least expect a "Sorry sir!", or something like that, but instead got an "I don't care" shrug from the other cashier behind the counter. I guess that's ok because there are a lot of customers getting fuel there. I guess they can afford to loose one customer at a time. Check the price and compare it with what they charge you. I bought a drink and was charged $3.89 initially. That sounded like a lot so I asked the cashier if it was supposed to be that price or $2.89... he apologized and just changed it to $2.89. Out of curiosity I walked to where I found the drink to find that it was priced at $1.99. Not sure if these guys are trying to get over or just not paying attention, but I'd double check that price before you pay. read more

This place is always crazy busy, but I stop there because it is convienient and they have the best prices on gas due to the volume they go through! Employees are always nice, but the bathrooms can usually use a bit of attention. read more

It's alright, but the gasoline grade naming is completely off. Why is supreme higher octane than Extra supreme and Ultra supreme?

Well the setup is kind of hard. It is right off 680 and yes it is true. They have gas octane higher than 91 which seems to make my audi happy. The gas station has a food store and that is what I came for (needed bottled water). My car requires 91 and they only had 87, 94, 96, 98, and 100 octane. I did not want 87 as that would make my car ping so I had to pay the $5.59.9 for 94 which seems way kind of high, but I had no choice. I was going to check the other pumps for 91, but it was extremely crowded and I could not get to those pumps if I wanted to (I am pretty sure they have 91 at those pumps). So food store great..gas options when waiting in line...not so great..unless you really need it (like if you have a modified car or something). Still it is a very convenient location on 680 (don't think there are other gas stations around). read more

MY STI LOVES 100 Octane (unleaded)! NEED I SAY MORE? If you have a tuner car or something equivalent, I highly suggest hooking up your ride with some nice race gas. This place carries both 100 Octane (unleaded) and 110 (Leaded). It's like PCP meets crack for your engine! I just found out about this little place and took my lunch to get filled up on 100 Octane. It is 10 mins from my work and why not? I filled up, jumped in the car, and did a nice pull on to the freeway. Ah! I see that Mark A., our resident foot soldier/talking-points-person for the neo-conservative cause**, has found this place before me. So, yeah, I may disagree with him concerning the governing philosophy most appropriate for America in the 21st century... ....but concerning this cheap gas outlet, well, OK! Everything what he says!!! Bi-partisan agreement!!! Now here is the experience of one fine car-full of Democrats and Sunol Super Gas.. We set off one Saturday from San Jo to see our relatives in Sac'to.. but in typical organized Weide household fashion, we get going *way* late, and *don't * have time to gas up at our local ARCO, and only after we're on 680 outside Fremont do I realize the gas gauge is poised on empty, and the wife (who has a strong phobia about running out of gasoline on freeways) starts to stress, and I say.. "CALM DOWN! There's a gas station just on the other side of the Sunol grade.." (I, uhm, seem to remember), and she says, "are you sure?" and I manage a gruff semi-truthful, "YEAH!," but we roll down the Sunol grade on fumes and gravity, and whew! My memory has *not* been playing tricks on me.. In the distance across seasonally green farm pastures, we spot the giant-lettered hand-painted sign reassuringly displayed for all desperately under-fueled motorists to see.. "GAS!" "GAS! yaay!" So we pull in to the station and do a double-take on the posted prices.. not only gas.. *cheap* gas! ... cheaper gas than ARCO.. out here, where one would think, the demon spirit of unbridled predatory capitalism would tempt one to stick it to cash-rich, fuel-short motorists for all the traffic would bear.. or mebe they figure cheap gas is a strong inducement for all the daily commuters between Pleasanton and Silicon Valley to make this a regular fuel stop.. Whatever.. I shall not attempt to understand.. just to celebrate (in a minor way.. let's not go overboard about this.. "cheap" is no longer *that* cheap and the long term trend only points upwards) my personal discovery. Anyway.. the new routine for trips to the valley.. will now consist of deliberately *not* gassing up in San Jo before the trip.. sputter to the top of Sunol grade, roll down the other side on fumes and gravity.. and into Sunol "GAS!" and pump as much of that good cheap stuff as possible into the empty belly of our aging grey bumper-stickered up Previa whale before proceeding on our merry way. I've been checking GasBuddy for the cheapest gas and their posting said that E85 was $2.89...$2.99 with Credit. it seemed the cheapest in the area...Fremont at $3.13 and Hayward at $3.59. So i went the extra distance(and traffic) coming from Hayward to stop by and get E85 with the hope that it would have saved me $2-$3. Turns out, the price on GasBuddy was never updated...$3.39...$3.49 with Credit. I suspect that they are the ones responsible for the GasBuddy posting...I may be wrong...but I could have saved more by just going to the Fremont station and saved myself the trouble of going the extra distance. They also charge $0.10/gallon premium for credit...that's a little steep...to say the least. read more

Obi at Sunol Super Stop found a bag that had been stolen from my car a week before and went out of his way to find my business card inside, give me a call, and get me reunited with all my possessions. I am constantly driving back and forth from San Jose to the east bay, and this is my go-to gas station on the way. The prices are cheap, and you get a discount if you pay with a debit card. The store is a decent size with a good selection and clean. This place can get crowded, but the pumps can reach to both sides of your car, so it doesn't matter what side you pull up to. read more

Warning! I got gas at 2.69 a gallon, put in 16.23 gallons. Should be $43. Bucks right? As I'm pulling out I noticed $100.00 charge! I called my bank they say sometimes a hold is put on credit cards at gas stations. I wait 5 days, it's still there.. Rip off gas station. Beware if you use them, CHECK the fee charged. They have cheap prices compared to other locations with 93-101 octane and e85. Just wish it was closer to home.

WARNING *** Don't piss off the lady cashier!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or even look at her cross eyed. Yes the gas is cheap and there is quite a selection of stuff to purchase inside but it doesn't compensate for the way you are treated as a customer. There is a lady at the register who says she is the manager and she is the worst at customer service. She should go to training for good customer service. She was busy talking to this guy on the side and neglecting to ring me up when I asked if she was open she gave me attitude and was just plain nasty. I will not go back there don't care how bad I need gas or how cheap it is. I guess you get what you pay for and if you are used to be treated in a condescending manner keep doing business here.
