The staff is exceptionally nice and treats her mom with dignity and respect. I especially like how they decorate the common rooms for holidays. The building is clean and well maintained as are yard and ground. Geriatric care would be challenging professional field but this place seems to have found and hired some real professionals. I would, without hesitation, support my own mother and/or father moving into this facility.

I cannot comment first hand on the staff or services as we are not there yet, but from what I saw, the staff is friendly, knows all the residents by name and is truly there to make their lives fun and interesting. We were greeted by the heads of many departments, including Lisa Nolan, director of nursing and Rachel Elliott, the Outreach Manager for the care center. Rachel went above and beyond, taking late night calls from my daughter after being placed at a facility that was beyond neglectful my first night in Denver to get me moved to VI @ Highlands Ranch the next morning. After being escorted to my room, I met the nurses and CNAs that would make it possible for me to be comfortable in my new surroundings after leaving the hospital in Glenwood Springs where my surgery had been performed. The following morning, I was greeted by Sean my Physical Therapist and we began our morning routine for therapy. Later that first day I also met Laurie as my Occupational therapist who help me learn how to navigate with my wheelchair. I chose to eat my meals in my room and met several aids that gladly brought the delicious, gourmet meals that were prepared for all residents. There was a second Laurie who was a PT that helped combine a swinging movement into daily walking and helped me accomplish taking steps and helping me conquer my fear of stairs. I continued with both PT and OT each day with the goal to move more and be safe to return to my home in Arizona. I occasionally even had therapy on the weekend. My nurses were fabulous. Anna always came with a smile and her talking BP cuff, Monique helped with medication and understanding why I was taking each pill. Jennifer also assisted in getting my cream approved for muscle stiffness. The night nurses, Chris, Bennie and Jenna were always assisting in getting me comfortable for the night and getting me the correct medication. The CNAs were very friendly and offered advice on navigating along with visiting and filling the days with conversations. When walking down the halls everyone greeted and called the residents by name. The lead therapist was Martin and was invaluable in getting the correct therapist to every patient. I thought I was on my way to discharge but it was Martin that said I needed a couple more weeks to help strengthen my leg so I could safely return home in Arizona. His assistance in my exercises will continue to be used now that I am at home. Also, in the therapy department was Kat who became a dear friend as she would make sure I did additional therapy, riding the Nustep to assist in relaxing and strengthening the tight muscles in both legs. When it was time to start planning on discharge and the overwhelming travel to Arizona Rachel once again came to the rescue with information on a chartered flight through JXS in Centennial, Co. This information was invaluable in that I was able to avoid the hassles of DIA and TSA with all my medical equipment and limited mobility. I am immensely grateful as my travel was smooth and comfortable. If anyone is considering a facility for physical rehabilitation, I would highly recommend VI @ Highlands Ranch. You will never find a facility with such professional, caring and helpful staff that are truly concerned with what is best for every resident.

I asked a nearby resident how often this occurs and they exclaimed that it happens weekly for hours at a time. Why on earth is this place allowed to release this poisonous gas into the air for hours on end and legally have people living at the residence who are inhaling this at the same time? She is in the memory care unit, they lost her teeth a couple weeks ago for 6 DAYS & did not mention it until we were coming to pick her up for an appointment. I took her to the audiologist last week & she had an ear infection & a hearing aid tip stuck in her ear. They cannot bathe my Mom because she is difficult, well guess what! That's why we are paying you nearly $12,000 per month. And yes! We have a case open with the ombudsman. The new director Page Malmstrom does not listen, does not take any accountability & gives canned responses like "oh I'll talk to my team". And my favorite, "I've only been here for a few weeks". Save yourself the heartache and grief; DO NOT recommend or take your loved one to this facility. Once the ombudsman is finished with her assessment, my Mom is out of Brookdale Park Place. Tough chapter, hope this review helps you to really do your research.

I lived at the Ridge Pinehurst for a year and a half. My review only reflects my experience with…read moreIndependent Living - not Assisted Living nor Memory Care. * Expensive. There are other, more value driven places that are equal or better. I'm living in one now. I am much happier now than when I was at the Ridge. * Paper thin ceilings and walls. In any apartment you hear everyday noises as if they are in the room with you. There is nothing you can do about it. If you try to escape the noise and live on the top floor of the Summit, there is some kind of loud machine noise from above the ceiling. If you spend the night trying out the apartments, make sure someone has an apartment above yours to experience the noise factor. * They are more partial to dogs than cats. * Lack of signage both interior and exterior of the Summit Bldg. The main door to the Summit is in an alley without direction. Signage problems have been discussed with management, but still were not corrected after my 1.5 years living there. The Ridge building entrance is lovely, but I consider the Summit building entrance the "step child". * They have one health and wellness center and one cinema, although the website says there are more than one. * Long waits for maintenance help probably due to so much employee turnover, as in most departments. * There are resident/management meetings. Notes are taken and distributed to residents. Everything goes under "management advisement" with very little change or timely change for the residents. Recently residents asked for a furniture arrangement change in the Summit. Management denied the request stating it couldn't be done, even after residents showed how it could happen. Residents wanted this change so that conversations between them could more easily occur. Why doesn't management want solutions that will aid in the residents comfort, safety and enjoyment of their lives at little to no cost? The Ridge Pinehurst is a for profit making institution and investment. Perhaps they should invest in nonhuman entities that don't require such humane responsiveness from them. * Only recently was 24/7 concierge coverage provided at the Summit building after many complaints. There was no response from management to my letter of complaint about this issue. They require 30 days written notice upon exit, yet my letter of intent was never acknowledged by them, as I requested. * Food: Along with required rent is required payment for food of $450/month/person on a "use it or lose it" basis. If you don't eat the food, you still pay for it. If you eat the food, expect that $450/month won't cover both breakfast and lunch or dinner. Breakfast is about $10, lunch or dinner meals are approximately $16-20. PanoVista meals offered once or twice a month vary $50 plus. The sample website menu is a possible PanoVista menu, NOT an example of the regular menu. Ask to see a monthly menu. If you exceed the $450, you are billed for it. Many pork and chicken meals are served. The food is mediocre to me and many other people. No food is cooked rare, mostly medium or well done. People complain that the expensive PanoVista meals are served cold. Few choices for vegetarians. There is a weekly vegetarian offering, but they have considered pancakes as a choice for a week. In all fairness, they do have "Always Available" menu choices. Again, ask to see a monthly, regular menu as well as their "Always Available" menu. * Lifeloop is the online system for residents to learn of activities and their updates, register for activities, and make maintenance and transportation requests. Residents are able to message other residents and staff. One needs to be fairly proficient in using a smart phone, tablet or computer. They use residents, as myself, to voluntarily tutor other residents on computers, smart phones and lifeloop on a one-to-one basis. There is another computerized system you need to use to order meals and make reservations. Concierges will input information for residents if they are available. Can be overwhelming for those who are not proficient. People who register for activities using lifeloop will be allowed entrance to the activity before those who have not registered on lifeloop. There may not be any room left. * Don't believe everything their website says and don't just believe what they say in their shiny sales pitch. If visiting, use your due diligence and ask the residents what they like and dislike. Ask to see their "unique dining concepts" that they advertise on their website - ask to see the locations, menus and prices, hours and days of operation. * When your rent is raised, ask yourself if you are receiving that percentage of increases in your lifestyle.

The facility is nice to look at but there are so many improvements that could be made (and dont get me started on the "sports bar"!)

They deliver everything promised. About 95% of the employees are fantastic. The quality and service of food differs from one restaurant to another but mostly it is very good. I really do get tired of it so I'm on the 20 meals a month plan because I still drive and like outside food along with my own cooking. When I do not feel well I have meals delivered to my apartment and this is very easy to set up. There is a 7$ charge to do so but Door Dash would be much more expensive I belong to many activities and have made many friends. We are not allowed to tip any employees so once a year there is a donor campaign for them. I am very safe walking my dog anytime day or night. Wind Crest emergency responders are very quick to go to our living quarters. My children take comfort that our doors are checked every morning by security. If our latches aren't opened by a certain time they will enter to see if we've fallen or need other assistance. What I like about living in the independent community is that there is not a Gestapo feeling. We are free to do almost anything we like. Maintenance has responded in a timely manner. I've visited the assisted living and memory units which are beautiful. I've heard complaints that they are sometimes filled and residents must go elsewhere for care. I've heard the staff is unable to deal with certain types of dementia. I pray I never end up there. I think this is a nation wide problem for elders needing special care. Not just at Wind Crest. Is Erickson making big bucks. I would assume so. Do we have annual increases in rent and ancillary services. Yes. But then again, one would have increases in their privately owned homes. I will likely run out of money and die broke if I keep living such a long life but hopefully wind crest will care for me until the end. If they don't then I will write a bad review when I'm reincarnated. Bottom line you are either going to pay a very large up front fee for senior living. Or you will pay a very high monthly fee. We have fun outdoor concerts in the summer. Do I ever feel like leaving? Yes I do. I believe this is normal when we get so old. We want our youth and our previous lives back, but my kids say I'm very blessed to live here because many cannot afford to do so. All in all, I would say this is one of the best retirement communities in the country. It just sux to get old because monies I thought I could leave to my kids will be needed to care for me plus possibly more from my kids due to a promissory note they signed to Wind Crest. My apartment is a one bedroom 1.5 bath. No balcony. Lovely large windows. Large kitchen. Tall ceilings and very beautiful. I hope my honest evaluation will assist others in their decision. Zero stars: This review is specific to the rehabilitation center - Windcrest at Regent's Point…read more My father (late 60s) was admitted here following double knee replacement surgery, with a known diagnosis of pulmonary fibrosis. He stayed for three nights before ultimately needing to be transferred back to the hospital. Unfortunately, the level of care we experienced was deeply concerning. The biggest issue was a lack of urgency and attention to basic medical needs. Despite his pulmonary condition, my father was not provided oxygen upon arrival. We were told it was listed as "as needed," but for someone who requires oxygen regularly, this should have been proactively managed. Relying on a patient in respiratory distress to repeatedly request care is not appropriate. Response times were also a serious problem. My father frequently used the call button for assistance, and it often took 30 minutes or more for anyone to respond. On one visit, he told me he had already been waiting half an hour just to receive ice packs for his knees. I had to find a staff member myself to get help. When I asked about average response times, I was told 10-15 minutes, which did not reflect our experience. I also requested that they check whether his call button was functioning properly, but no one ever followed up. There were multiple instances where essential care depended on a family member being physically present to advocate. For example, when my father needed his inhaler during a breathing episode, staff did not respond to the call button. I again had to go into the hallway to find someone. This pattern made it clear that without constant advocacy, care could be delayed or missed. Beyond my father's care, we observed troubling situations involving other residents. My sister had to assist my father's roommate back to his bed after a staff member left him unattended and he couldn't get his wheelchair across the room. I also saw several elderly residents sitting unattended in wheelchairs in a hallway, with no staff engaging or monitoring them. While the facility did not appear understaffed based on what we observed (plenty of time for them to stand around looking at their phones or chatting with each other), there was a noticeable lack of attentiveness and urgency among staff. Overall, this was not the level of care we expected for a rehabilitation facility. We are actively working to move my father elsewhere. I would strongly encourage families to be very involved and vigilant if a loved one is placed here.

Furthermore, I have resided in 6 different states and can honestly say that Colorado is my favorite state and Concordia on the Lake is my favorite residence. The majority of my neighbors feel the same way as I and we all realize that there are some (residents and some family members) who have different opinions. I couldn't be happier and can't imagine living anywhere else. Just about everything I need or want is within walking distance. If you want a sense of community and security, Concordia is the place for you or your family members.
