We recently engaged Sunrise Catering to cater an event on relatively short notice. They were easy to work with, provided excellent advice for how much food to order, and also gave good suggestions for the mix of different items for the afternoon event. They arrived on time and adjusted to the changes at the venue with no problem. We enjoyed the different mini sandwiches and deviled eggs, and the cut fruit was fresh and nicely presented. The biscotti were also excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to work with them again. read more

I used Sunrise for my daughter's 3rd birthday recently and everyone could not stop talking about how amazing the food was...I couldn't agree more. Aside from the fresh sandwiches, the macaroni, meatballs, and banana pudding were also absolutely delicious. I highly recommend Sunrise to cater any party of all ages. Linda was so quick to respond to my requests, we even got to tailor some of the menu for the younger kids palate. Also loved how they offered a coffee station, which acted as a refueling station for the parents. From the ordering process, to the delivery, and actual food.. We hired Sunrise Catering for a baby shower this past weekend, and the food was INCREDIBLE. Seriously, so good. Everyone raved about the food. The food quality is always the best - for the two events we have had catered through them (brunch and lunch events) was absolutely delicious. Ok where to begin this place is super super awesome. Maria walked into to our house like she was family. She is the best I mean best host ever she toke care of every little detail very attentive very helpful in every way and super organize she sit up beautiful she was there to help people with everything. If you ever need a caterer please if you are lucky enough ask for Maria and hope she is available. I always have my fingers figuratively crossed that Sunrise is catering the occasional lunch meeting or training at work. If they are the caterers then I know I am going to be fed well. It is probably not surprising that Sunrise is also one of my go-to caterers if I am the one coordinating a meeting or training. Their All Star Salad Bar is always an attendee favorite, with options to meet all sorts of dietary needs/restrictions. The salad bar includes a Thai chicken salad, spinach salad, caesar salad with bay shrimp, pasta salad with veggies, fresh fruit and cheese platter, and rolls and butter. They have tons of other options, all reasonably priced. It is nice that they have so many healthy dishes and they always arrive at or slightly before the scheduled delivery time. read more

I have yet to eat at this restaurant but have enjoyed their catering on two different occasions. Fist off we need to talk about their monkey bread!!! The bread is crispy carmalized on the outside and the perfect dough on the inside. I mean I have made this many times at home before but have made nothing nowhere near as well as this place! Secondly is their watermelon feta bites. They are super cute squared piece of watermelon topped with herbed feta cheese and mint. Delicious! I've ordered Sunrise for catering for office meetings in the past, and all my clients love their quiche and their pastries. So I thought I'd finally try their breakfast in their restaurant. I recently switched to a paleo diet, so I was worried there wouldn't be much for me to eat since I don't eat grains, flour or dairy now. Fortunately they offer a corned beef hash with sweet potatoes instead of regular potatoes. Man it was good, nice flavor and generous portions. They also subbed out my toast for bacon, tasty bacon. Not sure if they charged me more, but if they did it wasn't more than a buck or two. My brother got the carnitas and eggs omelette and devoured it. All I have to say is the food was bland. I don't know why they can't salt their food correctly? The latkes were terrible, cold, and it just looked like a hash brown patty. The store bought latkes from Trader Joe's taste far superior!! Very disappointed!! My husband ordered an omelette that came out lukewarm with the cheese half melted. No offer of Jam or Jelly to go with his bread and no flavor on the side of potatoes that were supposed to have been pan fried in garlic. Update: So I found out that this establishment purposely doesn't salt their food because apparently they cater to a lot of elderly customers. If you would like your food to taste like something or to simply have salt in your food please request and remind the waiter to tell the Chef to add Salt/ seasoning to your food. I find it absurd that I must ask for my food to be seasoned as I always thought that seasoning food was the norm for a restaurant. They should put a sign saying that they don't add seasoning, because not everyone wants to eat eggs by adding salt on top of it or cold fake latkes with salt on top. One can assume that their food is below par simply from the fact that their latkes can be beaten by trader joes. read more

We love Sunrise for catering, they're our go-to! I work in an office of about 15 people in Walnut Creek, and it's safe to say we all have extremely divergent taste when it comes to lunch. But Sunrise always has something for everyone, and what's even better (especially for me, as someone who is health conscious and has food sensitivities) is that all the food is clean, healthy, often organic/local, and for the most party pretty anti-inflammatory. But even people who prefer less healthy food LOVE it when we have Sunrise lunch days. We really love the roasted chicken with tomatoes and the tri tip steak, the seasonal roasted veggies, the potato salad (this coming from someone who typically finds potato salad gross), and the taco bar is phenomenal. I'm surely forgetting some things. If someone asked me where to get catering in Walnut Creek or the greater Walnut Creek area, I would say Sunrise Catering, hands down. read more

I utilized their catering service for a company breakfast today and the food was a huge hit. The French toast and pancakes were completely gone. Dealing with the catering staff was simple and I even made a change the day before the event and they were able to accommodate. I asked for the food to be delivered by 9:30 a.m. and it was here at 9:25 a.m. I will definitely use their services in the future. ***Hint- Order for 10 more people than what's expected because the food is so delicious that everyone will grab more than what they can actually eat. They provide a catering proposal that details every item and cost. Additionally, they send the paid invoice once the catering is complete. Jennifer was wonderful and spent lots of time with me deciding on menu choices and allowed me to change from a sit down dinner to appetizers three days before the event. We used Sunrise Catering for our Dad's funeral reception and although it was a sad occasion, they made it much better for us. The whole process was easy and seamless, which was exactly what was needed during a stressful time. The food choices were plentiful and the price was very reasonable. They delivered and set everything up without a hitch and all the food was delicious. We had plenty of leftovers (since you can never tell how many will attend a funeral), so many of our guests enjoyed taking some home. Most importantly, the customer service made all the difference. As I mentioned, it was a stressful and sad time for us, but Jennifer Pita helped make me feel comfortable and she seemed to truly care. She showed compassion and took as much time as I needed. It was obvious she has worked with the funeral home and knew exactly what to do. It was such a relief not to have to worry about this part of the planning.
