I had been going to Sunrise and Tong for over ten years. My Audi was diagnosed to have a fuel tank repair. Tong told me originally that it would be $245. When I left the car and returned two days later I had a bill of $1200. Tong has gotten out of hand since the Pandemic and he is extremely money hungry. Also, I then took the car to Audi. Sunrise is fast. They also give you a list of everything wrong with your car because they are trying to make as much money as possible. But you'll have everything fixed. None of the foul play as far as I can tell here. I have a 08 Crown Vic. Most neighborhood mechanics don't want to do work on it because "it's cheaper to just buy another car." Dammit I can't afford to buy a new car! For example my AC is busted and my usual mech. said it's $1600 to fix it right. But the charges are more than the car is worth. Sunrise doesn't care. Took my vehicle to Sunrise auto because the engine kept shutting down while driving. I was told there were several codes after the vehicle was diagnosed. 47.00 dollars later and the engine STILL shuts down while driving. I was told it could be the corrosive battery cables that need to be cleaned. It's too dangerous to drive the vehicle back to the auto shop. I feel stuck. read more

After being fixed...Each time I would return the car to get something else fixed on it at my expense... Which was pissing me off... Last week the same problem returned AGAIN.... I found this place because of the great reviews on yelp and am so happy I stopped by. The staff is really friendly, responsive and helpful. They did a great job explaining everything, were really quick and even gave me an employee discount because I work at a hospital nearby. Plus, they could tell I was new to the area and gave me a bunch of information about their other services, plus directions to my next stop. I was referred to this place by my neighborhood mechanic when he couldn't figure out what was wrong with the car. He said that the prices were fair and the shop was capable of everything that a dealership does. I had a check engine light on and they were able to diagnose and fix it within a short period. They are very thorough with their diagnostics and do a full inspection of the vehicle for $98. They let me know all of the problems with my car but we're not pushy and fixed the check engine light. They are reasonably priced though I think they charge a little higher than others for labor - still lower than dealership however. Because they do quality work, I have used them more than once and will use again. Owner Tung is very knowledgeable and explains your car issues to you clearly and straightforward. I only subtracted a star because they can have your car for longer than expected because they are often busy. read more

So I went to sunrise auto service at 7am,they said that was 5he best time because in the afternoon they get real busy ,told me my car would be seen by 8am maybe later,so I decided to walk home I'm actually 5min.away,called them at 12:30 my car was still not checked,they finally called me at 4:30 my car had been there 9hrs.they said they,my oil pump was bad so I told them to fix it ,they said they could not because I neede a new engine.What?When they told me the total,the guy said I could get a second opinion,picked up my car ,first they charged me 113.35 to now they wanted another 4,000.00 for an engine ,I went to Monroe got a second opinon,they found nothing wrong with my car I asked them about the sensor,it was fine,the oil pump it was fine,the engine ,also fine,I couldn't believe the difference from 4000.00 to nothing ,sunrise do not recommend you to anyone,you are ripping senior citizens off,or maybe everyone you can con!,,,, read more

WHAT A JOKE ! I WAS WARNED BY A COUPLE OF PEOPLE NOT TO TAKE ANY CAR THERE ,but took my daughters car there only because she lives a couple of blocks away. I took it in for service and once ( supposedly done ) I picked it up only to find wires fully exposed , screws missing,and everything from the glove box thrown all over the back seat and floor ..When I spoke to a worker there I was told that that is how it was to begin with when it obviously was not. They pushed the wires in with a screwdriver,shoved everything in the glove box to the point that when opened everything shoved in there was bunched up like out of anger and popped out like a jack in the box when I opened it. And to make matters even worse the next day the same electrical problem was still there ! I took it to a mechanic that works out of his garage and electrical issue was solved,wires were tucked away , and glovebox items were back in the glove box and not thrown all over the floor and all over the backseat ! I had to search up and down, high and low to finally find a honest and trust worthy shop. This is not a ghetto shop and you can't expect 55/hour rate but this shop does things the right way. I originally left a positive review, but only because they offered me $50 off a $450 bill for it. Turns out, these guys are total con artists. We paid for a NEW alternator to be installed into our Jeep. It ran for a few months and then broke down. When AAA and a reputable mechanic looked it, we were told the alternator that was installed was certainly not new and was installed incorrectly. So, incorrectly, in fact, that it warped and melted connecting parts, all of which had to be replaced. When my husband contacted them, they refused to issue a refund for the USED and defective alternator they sold us. Complete crooks. my husband took our vehicle there because it seemed like alot of people took their vehicles there. Always very busy. My mother also had work done there cause it was close to home. She thought the prices were high but said they were curteous n helpful. I always had a bad feeling about this place. Im never wrong. It freaks me n everyone who knows me out how accurate i am with my senses. We let them fix our vehicle even though the price was very unfair. I looked it up, parts n labor costs for the job. They were no where near any of the prices given. Also said 3 other things needed to be done as well with of course prices unreal. We only got done the immediate problem. We needed it done asap. Cant miss days at work for car repair. He travels 60 miles per day. Buses do not go any where near enough for him to walk. It wasnt something that could wait. Thats all i can remember. Vehicle knowledge no, but I can remember when im ripped off. Im just being honest. He didn't believe me n went there again. Came home with 2 estimates. One with a 12 mo gaurentee the other with a new remanufactured engine. ENGINE. Those 3 things not being done of course were to blame. 6,000 thousand dollars. Thats rounded off. Also 98.00 something to tell him that. I made him get a second opinion. We in the past 6 months already sunk 5,000 into it. All we had. So devastated is an understatement. We dont have the money n cant get it either. Second opinion cost are you ready 20.00 and the diagnosis was the timing chain 1,100 is the cost.. Looked up part cost. Less then 200.00 mostly labor. Its a big job. That we can save for n hes getting a ride to work while we do that. Mechanics get paid more than doctors get from insurance companies. I feel good about this repair shops honesty. I was a first-time customer, and brought in my car for overheating issues. I had received a couple of quotes for the work I needed, and Sunrise was in the middle. What sets them apart is the timely communication, transparency, and candor. I have an older car, and not surprisingly they discovered more problems than they knew at the beginning. They were very candid about whether the work was a "must have" (broken intake manifold) vs. a "nice to have" (air conditioning) kind of expense. The work was done in a timely manner. I had told them it was no-rush, but they were still done in under a week. They offer a 1 year warranty on their work. It was a nice surprise to see that they had even repaired my door which used to get stuck when opening, but now is perfectly smooth. I'm sure it was a simple fix, but the fact they proactively fixed it with no charge shows me they care about their customers. I will definitely come back. read more
