I've been coming here for over 10 years. Dr. Bautista is one of the best dentists I've ever worked with and his team is fantastic. Everyone in the office is kind and professional. The office is clean and well organized, and the team consistently update their techniques and equipment. Like many, I have some anxiety about dental work and they've always helped me feel at ease. They answer questions and explain procedures. Financial expectations are transparent and explained thoroughly, and I've always been able to get an appointment within a reasonable period of time (I've had a few emergency visits that were booked quickly, too). My son had a service rendered at this office. The office submitted a Pre-Determination request to the insurance. My insurance company (my employer also) called them and advised the amount due will be much less. They still said I need to pay what the pre- determination said which I did. They submitted the claim my amount due to them was way less than what they charged me and paid. I've called the office and they advised my refund will be processed the same day. I waited 3 days no refund. I called the office again they advised the manager will call me back still waiting called again the manager is not in today she will call back tomorrow and still waiting and still no refund. This seems to be a common practice with this office since the same issue happened with my daughter a year ago. They are very easy to take your payment but a pain to refund what they over charged you. Specially knowing they are overcharging you. I'm guessing they think people do not look at their EOB's and request refunds. read more

I had an appointment with doctor Thomas Copulos on 1/31/25 for periodontal evaluation which never took place due to a horobal office team which didn't perform their job properly and treat me very badly, after two hours of boling me I just gave up and left the office , It start with enable to open my images that I email them function that anyone can do with no knowledge of tech training ,just to make you agree to take at another images and claims it is for security reason(nonsense) and that the way the increasing a revenue . then the charge you $85 for consultation which the never let you know in advance, after 45 minutes that I was waiting at whiting room for them to call my insurance to verified my benefit which they supposed to do it two days before the appointment thanking place , they claim they are on hold. then I called from my phone and a surprise they answer me right the way which let you feel that they are let wait on purpose, my insurance correct them that consolation coast $15 as per my benefit another way of increasing the revenue. when I asked to talk with the doctor they refused to let me meet him . with a worst office experience like that I would never recommend anyone to visit this place.ZERO star read more

I was referred to Dr Copulos by my dentist, Dr Young, TownePark Dentist in Pembroke Pines. I was in severe pain almost to a point of being delirious. I've never felt pain like what I experienced prior to having my wisdom tooth extracted. All I knew I wanted this pain to leave me alone. I told my wisdom tooth, you gone learn today! Oh yeah yo butt has got to go. While at my Doctors office in Pembroke Pines, she told me there is usually a delay at Dr Copulos' office. So pack my patience. I wasn't too happy to hear that, but my brother and I made the ride up via pines blvd. oh my god that was the longest most painful ride of my life. The Doctors office is located in a Bank of American building. Upon entering the office, there were 6 people waiting to be seen in a very comfy, cozy and tranquil front office. I approached the front desk and was greeted with a warm hello and a clip board which consisted of a 3 page questionnaire. Once I completed the paperwork, I went back to my seat still in pain and still 6 people waiting. I figured I'd wait an hour or more. But to my surprise, I hear a voice calling my name.... what? 10 MINS at best after completing the paperwork. They proceeded to walk me down a winding walkway, and placed me in room number 8. I'm nervous as hell because this is my first time ever having surgery on anything. I'm 50 now so I'm thinking is this The age when things change. Fighting back tears. I'm strong, but I have my moments. In walk Camille, I think that's her name. Clearly she runs that office and commands attention. She had such great presence about herself. I loved the way she interacted with the doctor. She started a video for me to watch about the consultation procedures. Then soon afterward the video stopped in walked the Dr. I saw all these big ass metal tools on a table. I asked him in my professional voice, doctor, could you please explain to me what am I to expect to feel prior and post op. I think I startled him, because he looked like he just wanted to come in there and just do his business. I was like hold up, wait a damn minute doc, oh you gonna answer my questions before you do one thing to me. He addressed my concerns, then now all of a sudden he didn't see me as another patient. I became someone to him. Now He started asking me questions, about my line of work, children etc... ok this is what I like, get to know me before you do yo business on me. We established relationship. Now.... I can relax and open wide. My mouth that is. Y'all so nasty. Now the numbing begins, it was painless. Gentle. I kept my eyes close, you know you don't want to look em in the eyes, that's kinda ackward. But I am peeking, seeing what he looks like at work. He was calm, gentle although he kept saying it's tight in there. And that he had to get it from another angle. Seriously. Through it all, he kept asking me am I ok. I returned my answer with a thumbs up. Finally, it was over after 2 mins. Yes, 2 mins. The best 2 mins of my life. Afterwards, I walked to the desk to schedule my follow up appointment. They had my script, and additional paperwork in a bag and I was on my way. Overall experience, a good one, glad I pushed my fears aside and came considering all the anxiety I was feeling prior to coming. How I feel a day after is sore in the extracted areas. And hard for me to swallow. But they say that's pretty normal. I am no longer in pain. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is the worst I mean absolutely the worst place to go. They don't care about there patients at all. I've visit this office for a consultation for wisdom tooth since i've been in extremely pain and this " doctor " aka Mr.Kogan wrote on his doctor note that the pain was not severe pain and my insurance denied my approval to get it removed. This man legit seen that I'm clearly in pain. Both him and his coworkers seen. But they don't care. They want you to feel pain. The workers there are rude and barely even help you. I don't recommend this place at all. I've been in pain for the longest and i'm still going to be in pain because these people are not taking me serious to actually help me get it removed. I have been trying for the past 3 weeks to get intouch with someone to make an appointment with Dr. Patel, the oral surgeon. The first time I called, the girl on the line not only put me on hold without asking or letting me know I was going to be put on hold mid conversation, she then proceeded to hang up on me after waiting 20 minutes to speak with her. The last time I called, I was placed on hold (this time with permission) after waiting 10 minutes, the girl comes back to tell me she'll call me back later. It's been 2 weeks since that last conversation and I have not heard back at all. I have left messages and e-mails to no avail. Maybe Dr. Patel is amazing, maybe the staff is outstanding. I guess I'll never know because I WILL NOT be getting any oral surgery done at a place that clearly has no interest in me. read more

If this place could have no stars I'd give them that. The front office staff is not very polite at all. The dental hygienist I saw was very kind and I feel sorry for her with all of those people. Dr. Graver is a jerk and that's putting it nicely. As a first responder I've seen many doctors with poor bedside manner but he takes the cake. He talks to you with a narcissistic god complex. I'm also a teacher and single mom and made arrangements to have my appointment when I did and when it came down to it I had to wait an hour. Then Dr. Gryger did not even look at my X-rays and said he would only do it with an IV sedation and not even that day which what I was scheduled for. He said he had things to do and non doctors telling doctors what to do and their schedule is screwed up. I said I didn't consent to IV sedation because my insurance didn't cover it and he said I needed to sign the consent and figure it out if I wanted my extractions. First off you can't force a patient to change their consents, it's illegal. But it's fine I should have seen the reviews for this place before hand. Their sister office dental associates of Hollywood is just as bad with mismanagement and rude front office staff. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. read more

WORTH THE READ !!! Started out a while back... paid a hefty bill for 3 implants... Dr. Arroyo was the oral surgeon hired as an independent contractor (come to find out later)... Dr. Arroyo started my work and installed the 3 posts, one being too far up in my jaw... I saw the X-ray after the fact... I became infected for 6 months or more... my face smelled like a dead body, if you can imagine... 6-8 different antibiotics later that didn't work, all the work had to be pulled out... still nothing worked... I had to have a $19k sinus surgery... 4.5 hour surgery because of the malpractice of Dr. Arroyo... agonizing trips to the E.N.T. With a vacuum needle being shoved into my sinus... felt like I got shot with a .45 !!! I was to wait 6-12 months till I healed so they could try again... in that time I went away on an extended vacation (6.5 years)... my family kept in touch with Sunrise Dental the whole time via telephone and letter... upon my exit I contacted the Office Manager, I was eventually told they would NOT authorize my return visit to have the work completed... reminding y'all I did not sue because I thought I had a decent relationship with this office that even my son and fiancé went also... they told me they were under new ownership and new management... even though i know a business in the state of Florida inherits the old debt after sale... they stated statute of limitations even though I kept in touch the whole time... most of the same staff still worked there... Dr. Arroyo (the butcher) has a new butcher shop in Pembroke Pines called Dental Med Associates... So I lost my money and went thru this whole ordeal and still no one would refund me or at very least do the work... Sincerely pissed off... DO NOT GO TO THESE OFFICES !!! If they were/are committed to excellence then they would refund my money !!! I just had to pay someone else $17k out of pocket to complete the work Sunrise Dental was paid to do... RIP OFF !!! This place needs better management or administration. Even after the front desk checks my insurance for validity and confirms acceptance they came back with outrageous charges which (after confirming with my insurance) should not have been charged at all. Worse yet, when I was directed to the counter to pay for the consult my chart and identity are mistaken not once or twice... but actually three times.... YES 3!!! I went to this place due to some good reviews I heard and being that I work in the same building. Big mistake I was told I had 6 cavities and I needed my wisdom teeth pulled which they wanted to charge over $200 each tooth and they also wanted to charge me for a mandatory deep cleaning. I decided to get a second opinion and go back to my regular dentist who told me that I did not have 6 cavities at all and deep cleanings are not mandatory or necessary it is just a luxury and will charge me 37$ per tooth to remove my wisdom teeth. Do NOT go to this dental group!! It is a complete scam. After never having a cavity in my life and having zero oral pain, I was told I had 6 cavities. I stupidly believed them since I had a year of a stressful residency/was having a lot of sugary drinks...1 week later I'm back in the office because I had shooting nerve pain & ended up needing a root canal because my dentist had no clue what he was doing/drilled too deep. This was 100% a scam. I took my x-rays somewhere else and they said they couldn't even see cavity, just some minor areas of decay and that a root canal never should have been necessary. To top it off, my dentist hit on me while he was doing my fillings. Maybe if he focused on his actual work & not being sexually inappropriate, I wouldn't have needed that root canal. Let me start by saying that Dr. Young and the dental hygienist, Karen, are wonderful. However, I decided to change to another dentist because of their bad business practices. I agree with the reviewers that indicated that you always end up paying for "something" additional but the last straw for me was when I was told that I needed a root canal, their office verified my insurance coverage and was told that my out of pocket expense would be $500; which I paid in full. However, a couple of months after the work was done I received another bill for an additional $400.00. I called my insurance company and they said that they paid the practice the contracted rate and that I had met my out of pocket responsibility. I then called the office manager and her response was "well, insurance companies don't always pay what they say they will" and you have a $400.00 balance. I work in healthcare and with insurance companies, and I know that when you verify insurance benefits, you either do it online (and get a printout of what is covered/not covered) or by phone (and get a reference # for the call) so if there is a discrepancy in what is reimbursed vs. benefit confirmation one can dispute this. The Office Manager just said that I needed to pay the balance. I'm guessing that whomever verified my benefits did not provide me with accurate information and my out of pocket was actually higher than what I was told. Had I been told that I would have held off on the root canal. I feel that I was deceived. I switched to a new dentist, refused to pay the balance and they have now forwarded my account to a debt collector. Bottom line, I do not recommend this office solely on their bad business practices and poor customer service. read more

Unfortunately I had a bad experience with Sunrise Dental Group; My daughter, who is a healthy 17-year-old girl, had surgery on May 11, 2022 on her 4 wisdom teeth, which were covered by insurance without any problem, but according to Dr. Oppenheiner, she needed IV sedation and Sunrise Dental Group told me that I had to pay for it because my daughter's insurance did not cover it. I contacted the insurance and they told me that they had denied it because in the dental office they submitted the IV anesthesia with the wrong code, then I called the person in charge of submitting the authorization of the procedures again and she told me that they used the code right. I insisted that my daughter did not need IV sedation and that only S-Inhalation was enough, but I still had to pay for the insurance, according to them, it did not cover her. To my surprise, two days after the surgery, I called the insurance company and they told me that Sunrise Dental Group had submitted, in addition to the extraction of the wisdom teeth, the payment for the inhaled sedation that I had already paid for on the day of the surgery. I called the dental clinic again to ask what had happened and because they charged me for a procedure that the insurance covered and the person in charge of authorizations treated me in a disrespectful manner and told me that she had done the right thing with the insurance and that I was wrong. I made an insurance claim and they confirmed that THEY HAD PAID the sedation to the dental clinic. I paid for a service that I should not have payed for, perhaps other people are going through the same thing. Keep this problem in your mind. read more

Please listen to my honest review and think twice before you come here. You'll thank me later. This dental office has always only cared about one thing, getting as much money out of you as possible. I had my wisdom teeth removed with them and have been to them for many cleanings always to get a surprise extra bill in the mail on top of what i had already paid them up front. They also never do regular free cleanings and always find a way of making you pay for them. The last time I was there they said I would be getting a free cleaning only to go to the finance office right afterwards to hear that it wasn't free after all. I immediately contacted my insurance provider to report them and you should too if they play these games with you. read more

I got some additional information from my insurance company who said that what Sunrise Dental has done is called "Balance billing" which is not allowed per their contract for an in-network provider. They would be able to do that if my insurance was out of network but here they have a discounted rate that the insurance covers for my cleaning, and then they're coming back to me and saying that I need to pay the price difference between the full cleaning charge and the insurance's discounted rate. It's a sneaky practice but with all of their threatening letters they probably get most people to pay it. Very sneaky and I would hope some kind of consumer protection act covers against this behavior. read more

Wonderful experience and wonderful team. I was so apprehensive about seeing a dentist but Dr Arroyo made my experience carefree. I had all four wisdom teeth pulled at once but suffered only minor pain for the days following. The doctor, his team, and even the receptionists were so nice. Dr. Bautista took xrays and even though I did not have as severe a problem as the other new dentist said he corrected it and made me feel 100% better. On 11/01/15 I began experiencing pain in my upper jaw. By 11/02/15 the pain was unbearable. A friend of mine recommended this office to me, I called and explained my situation and they told me to come right in. Upon entering, I was in a dentist chair inside of 15 minutes and Dr Bautista was examining me. He has an easy going personality and great demeanor, Ann Marie his assistant was really great too. Without going into copious details...I had an old root canal that was REALLY infected. He explained the treatment plan to me and was very reassuring. The next day, Dr Comora removed the old root canal and after several days of treatment & antibiotics, I was able to return to work. My experience with this office from the initial phone call, to the ladies who work in the office and all of the staff has been stellar. IMHO, this is the model of what dental offices should strive to attain. Based upon my experience (6 times in the office), I would gladly recommend them to anyone. read more

Do not go here!!! I originally came to this dentist because they did sedation, but it was a major mistake. The office people are very rude and disorganized. Then we were told my son had 6 cavities and one of the teeth was deformed and would need a crown. The dentist (female dentist - I don't remember her name) started scolding us about how he shouldn't eat sugar etc. Why even tell people this? Everyone knows sugar causes cavities. I'm not sure if it was because I am not Hispanic, but people were very rude there. Because of the bad experience, we decided to take him to someone who told us he only had two cavities. read more

Dr. Young has been my dentist for a number of years. I would never go to another dentist. She is meticulous in her procedures she has done for me. She also calls to follow up after any major procedure is completed to make sure I am doing ok. She always explains whatever needs to be done in great detail so I am comfortable. I also never hesitate to ask her questions. The dental hygienist that I see there (Karen) is second to none! She makes dental cleanings as pleasant as can be. I always say that the experience of any healthcare provider is influenced tremendously by their staff. Surnise Dental Group of Plantation is an unmitigated disaster ! They make errors and then they pass the buck and it is the patient that ends up having problems. An appointment was mis-scheduled.... then postponed to noon the next day. At 1040am they phoned to cancel. The excuses were lame lame lame. Their attitude was "whatever" . . . with no apologies for inconveniencing a patient that had essentially fasted TWICE for extractions. The behavior and attitude is unprofessional and unacceptable and I would not recommend this practice to anyone, especially since there are several others in the area- one of which we used and would give them 5 stars for being accommodating and professional. read more

I recently took my son to this office for dental work and was told he needed 2 crowns as well as several fillings. We were given a treatment plan that stated what our responsibility would be. We paid at each visit and when he had his final visit I was told we had a balance remaining of 397.00 because there was a claim that had not been paid by the insurance company and they would not do the work until the full balance was paid. My son had his final work done and as we left I was told if and when my insurance paid I would be getting my refund. The office received the final payment last week and I called to inquire about my refund. I was told by Angela that my account had to be "audited" so I waited. Today I received a call from Denise the "administrator" where she happily informed me I did not owe them anything NOR did they owe me. I asked how is this possible if my account was a ZERO balance? She stated they had to "Downgrade" and "adjust" the treatment plan. I have been in the medical field for 30+ years and have never heard of this in my life. I totally understand guarantee of payments and insurances, etc. but how convenient that the final total due was EXACTLY what they received from my insurance company. Makes you wonder.... At this point, I do not care to receive a refund but will be filing a complaint with The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. I will also be giving them ONE STAR since there is not an option for ZERO. read more

I've visited Sunrise Dental Group for two procedures. Root Canal and Oral Surgery for extraction of four wisdom teeth. Root Canal was performed by Dr. Comora, he actually fit me in to the schedule when I called the day before complaining of pain. I did not wait for a long time in the waiting area. He was with me for hours and didn't even take lunch to be able to finish the root canal in one visit. A couple of months later I went back to the office to have oral surgery performed by Dr. Arroyo. He and his staff made me feel completely at ease. I received a follow up call after the surgery was completed just to check in on me. I was experiencing pain over the weekend after the surgery and he personally contacted me on Sunday afternoon to discuss it. He fit me in on Monday morning to check out what was going on and gave me the option to come in everyday if I needed to until I felt better. The staff was polite, related and sympathized with my situation, comforting and friendly. I would highly recommend their office. read more

Best staff ever! Read the last review and I don't get it. I have nothing but praise for this office. I agree the office staff can make or break a practice and this office is hands down wonderful..from all the receptionists, to the one that deals with your insurance, to the one that makes the surgery appointments, to the one that explains financial costs. I have dealt with just about everyone there and they were always extremely nice and courteous. And as far as the actual medical staff..I dont have one bad thing to say and I am deathly afraid of dentists.. I avoid them as much as I can. This staff has made it a very pleasant experience..from the very sweet oral surgeon.. to the super gentle hygienist. The hygienist I dealt with is probably the best that I have ever encountered. My dad saw Dr. Bautista for a consultation about a week ago. The experience was terrible! At first, when we scheduled we advised them that we had no dental insurance and wanted to know pricing. They offered us a financing program called "Dentrite" where you pay $30/yearly and get discounted treatments. When we went in, I spoke to the manager and she had no idea what I was talking about even though it is on their website!!! Then, they are extremely expensive. They were trying to charge $5700 for two root canals and $500 for a cleaning! We've been to other dentists and this is by far the most we have ever been quoted and they're not even willing to work with us. I finally decided to go with another doctor so I requested his xrays from them to be emailed. They told me they would email it to me the same day or the next morning. I never received it so I went to the office to pick up a hard copy and what do you know? They charge $20 for a hard copy of xrays. I asked them to email it instead and the woman in the front was very rude and told me she will "TRY" to see what she can do (with a nasty attitude). so unprofessional! I have deducted two stars because there is a lady at the front desk whose name I don't know, unfortunately, but she is very condescending and always make you feel like you are bothering her with questions. Whenever I call she is polite in her words but condescending and irritated in her tone. Her tone makes you feel like she just wants you to hurry and hang up. Everything and everyone else at this place is wonderful and helpful. But first impressions are everything. She is the one you have to talk to first to get to anyone else and it's frustrating having to deal with that and getting a sour taste in your mouth before you meet and talk to everyone else, whom are not as unpleasant. She really affected my take on this dental office even though she is only one person.
