They are wonderful, warm people who make staying in their B&B so relaxing and comfortable. The grounds are spectacular and so is Mary's cooking. Every day we had a delicious breakfast and a "bottomless" cookie jar with home baked treats. We like sitting with the other guests in the morning, getting to know other people from near and far. We've gotten great tips about interesting places to visit from the other guests as well as Mary and Peter. If we are really lucky, we will be able to get back there in the fall!

We stayed in the French Room, which was on the smaller side, but which had everything you could want - including a nice jacuzzi tub for soaking after hiking the local waterfalls. The hosts, Greg and Lilly were gracious and kind and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. They were super conscious of my husband's allergies, to the point of getting locally sourced duck eggs to prepare his breakfast, as he's allergic to chicken eggs. Speaking of which - the breakfasts were amazing each day! Another couple there mentioned that they had never stayed in a B&B before and were commenting on how great it was - but this B&B is head and shoulders above any we've ever stayed at - I hope they don't expect this level of wonderfulness at every place they stay in the future, because the Beekman House is unique. The view from any room is gorgeous, be sure to take advantage of the hot tub outside to really capture the tranquility the lake has to offer. Breakfast is delicious top of the line! Extremely reasonable prices for the area. We came here with another couple and had an amazing time, the fire pit outside on the lake makes for a great place to sip local wine and catch up with friends! The fridge in the room is great for bringing back local cheese and wine. Also the keurig in the room is well stocked and convenient. The driveway is steep going down to the inn but well worth the breathtaking views! We've stayed other places on the lake and nautical nights takes the cake!

The house reminded me of a classic New York summer retreat house with its craftsman style and antique decor. Our room had beautiful Laura Ashley and Ralph Lauren linens, which gave it a very cozy homey feel. The two breakfasts (fluffy blueberry pancakes & homemade syrup, melon & fresh squeezed orange juice the first morning, and pepper, cheese & leek omelettes with strawberries & grilled pear caramelized with cinnamon & sugar and fresh squeezed orange juice the second morning) and cheese platter on our arrival night were delicious. We especially enjoyed spending our evenings on the front porch where there was a view of the lake, pleasant breeze, and fire flies & stars abound. The house is very centrally located to explore area wineries (which we did via bike) and Watkins Glen (highly recommend hiking the Watkins Glen State Park). It was our first post-COVID quarantine trip so we were a bit nervous, but Cathy kept it immaculately clean, provided hand sanitizer, which was always available by the front door and in our room, and Clorox wipes in the bathroom, and she always wore a mask when she interacted with us. The separate guest house is spacious and cozy, with a wood burning stove, living room and large kitchen on the first floor, and two queen/king beds and two singles on the second floor, so great for families. The grounds are gorgeous, with family horses roaming and rolling fields. The location is great--red newt winery is in walking distance and the Seneca Wine Trail right off Tichenor Road. stayed here in sept 2012 for a girls weekend. the finger lakes are beautiful this place was not. we…read morestayed in a renovated barn ( i use term renovated loosely) the place was just plain filthy the toilet had not been cleaned for quite some time, the kitchen had mousetraps set in large gaps underneath the counters. there were mouse droppings in the toasters, the coffee pot had old dried coffee in it, some of the cabinets were taped closed with masking tape because they didn't close, upon opening the cabinets we found old paint cans, a variety of drills, old christmas decorations etc. looked like the place was used as a garage instead of a kitchen. in addition to that there was miscellaneous junk stashed and stuffed in every corner, a large vat of what appeared to be cooking oil, breast pads and half empty water bottles in bureau drawers the fridge was dirty with crumbs, spills and leftover food from previous renters. when we awoke afer our first night the mice had eaten our breakfast. they had chewed through bags of bagels, bread and danish, they left droppings in our wine glasses. when i contacted the owner regarding these issues she replied that we were charged a modest price for modest accomodations and refused to give us any compensation. we were charged $115 per night for a filthy barn infested with mice. she said it was cozy and rustic. i am a well traveled person both here in the us and abroad. i've stayed on working farms before, cozy and rustic i expect but there is no such thing as charmingly filthly. i've stayed in nicer tents .don't stay here you'll be wasting your modestly hard earned cash.

Fully checked in by 4:30PM. Went to the room & were met with a strange, musty smell. Figured we would just deal with it since it was only 1 night. Got ready & left to head to Watkins Glen for dinner & wandering. When we returned to the hotel around 9:30PM, we were met with a live band blasting music literally directly outside of our door and a loud bar beneath our room. There was absolutely no mention of this happening when we were checking in. I went down to the bar and asked someone who seemed to be working there what time the band was finishing and what time the bar closed. She had no idea and had to ask someone else behind the bar. They said the band was finished at 10:30, and the bar would stay open "as long as there were people there". I went back to our room and my husband and I decided to wait it out until 10:30 and pray that it would be better when the band was done. 10:30 comes, the band wraps up.. 10:35, music starts blasting from the speakers again. We were exhausted and just wanted to sleep, so we made the decision to find a different hotel and leave the Showboat. We quickly packed up and packed the car, and I called the number listed online for the hotel. Bri answered, and I told her that I was very upset over the noise and lack of communication regarding the band and bar when we checked in, and that we were leaving. I told her we would appreciate a refund and that the room was empty. She told me that this was not the first call she's received about the noise outside the rooms we were in, and they do not give refunds. I am blown away by the lack of customer service and compassion. We were only checked in for a little over 6 hours, yet paid an absurd amount for a full overnight stay in a rundown, musty, loud motel. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. We ended up at the Harbor Hotel in Watkins Glen and had an exponentially better experience!
