As a new Mercedes-Benz owner, I've been researching maintenance and kept seeing LP & Sons Auto Care recommended online. Although it's not close to my home, I scheduled an oil change for my C250 to see if they could earn my business. A few hours before my appointment, Max called about a scheduling conflict and asked to reschedule for the next day. It was inconvenient, but his excellent customer service made it an easy decision. When I arrived, my first impression wasn't great. The property looked old-school, with several older damaged vehicles parked around, making it feel crowded and a bit like a junkyard. I questioned whether I'd made the right choice. Inside, Terrence checked me in and estimated 45-60 minutes. I asked for a thorough inspection since I had recently purchased the car, but they only performed a basic visual inspection. While waiting, one of the employees complimented the condition of my air suspension and mentioned the technician had never seen such a clean C250, which gave me confidence that I'd made a great purchase. The service was completed in exactly an hour. Terrence said they found no visible issues and that the car appeared to have been well maintained. The pricing was fair, and the service was good overall. I'm not sure yet if LP & Sons will become my go-to Mercedes shop, but they definitely proved that appearances can be deceiving! read more

Fantastic place. Super helpful and appropriately priced for the work that they do. Self diagnosed an oil leak from my oil pan in my 2013 328i and as a college student would not be able to do that work in the dorm parking lot unfortunately. They were quick and did a fantastic job and the cost was upfront and what I expected for this repair. I also had a noise occur a few months after this from my suspension and I was unsure of what it was. they took a look at it and fixed it pretty much immediately for me, just had something loose on it, they will take care of you here, highly recommend especially for Stetson students as it is walking distance to campus. read more

Local business so it feels great to support them. Overall, they feel like a pretty honest company that does great work, with just one exception. I only got an oil change this time but they're very upfront with their costs which is nice. Now the exception - I asked for an inspection for my car and they tried to charge me $130. I decided against it. However, every time I've used them they've done an inspection for free - including this time so their inspection charge feels a little bit like a ripoff. Also, I dropped my car off before 8:30 am, they advised that it would take 3 hours. It's 4 pm and they still haven't finished. The previous time I used them they were pretty spot on about the wait time so I'm not sure which is the exception and which is the rule. No complaints on the work performed. Update: Dropped a star because it's 4:35 pm and they're still working on my oil change - 8 hours AFTER I dropped it off. The receptionist told me flat out that they forgot about my car which no customer wants to hear. Really want this business to win but very disappointed in the service. My first visit here was sooooo much better than this so I know they're capable of much better service. Hoping this is just a bad day for them. First and foremost- excellent communication and customer service. They were honest and straightforward, and don't push any services on you, just polite recommendations. I have been twice, once for a question and once for an oil change, and I have always been treated with respect and kindness. I appreciate this greatly because as many women may know- heading by yourself to anything car related is often a recipe for being talked down to. I was a little disappointed with a few things- First, when I got my car back after an oil change, the steering wheel was sticky. Not a big deal. Second, when I looked in the engine (because they had recommended I change my air cabin filter), I discovered that the brake fluid plastic cover was not replaced. Finally, when I went to check my air cabin filter- it was completely fine. It's just a charcoal filter, so looks black. Glad that I didn't pay to change it! Overall- good service and nice, honest communication. However, disappointing lack of attention to detail. I will be returning because they offered an impressive free oil change and I would hate to discount a company after a few small mistakes. read more

Avoid or risk getting your car misdiagnosed and paying an astronomic bill to rescue it. We Brought a vehicle in for a known problem. Told it was something different which didn't seem to make sense. was reluctant to fix it but thought they were the experts. The Part was changed at a cost of a few thousand of dollars just to learn that it didn't fix the problem because it was the known problem all along. The new quote was so high and more than what it should cost, per a quick internet search. Still in shock and in disbelief. It would be cheaper to put a rebuilt engine than to fix it. That was our intention from the beginning, instead we were taken down a deceptive road. Perhaps it was laziness on the mechanic not diagnosing it correctly or the dishonesty of the business owner. The symptoms told the story. We saw it. We saw it was a problem with this auto. The due diligence of the mechanic was lacking. Accommodating, yes! Overpriced, yes! The guy that works up front quoted me on a valve cover gasket job that cost 3 times what a other shop quoted me. I initially took my suv there to remove 3 broken pan bolts, add tranny fluid and filter (~$750 labor). The transmission was a quart shy of ATF, the car started to shift hard after long drives, I manually checked and confirmed my suspicion on low fluid. I added a qt more fluid (following manufacture procedure) and the car started to drive fine. read more

Follow-up 1/25/2020...Today we replaced the valve cover gaskets that we paid to originally have completed. Maybe 2 years and 25k miles The oil was leaking profusely into the spark plug area, ALL 4 PLUGS. When the covers were removed and the area cleaned out we noticed that the actual spark plug tubes looked like the OEMs. As well the tubes were filled with gasket maker at the ends where they were placed into the block. That's a no-no. Lock down washers on the Valve cover (smaller ones) seemed like they were not replaced due to the complete hardening of the rubber washer. That gasket maker placed laterally on the sides of a tube (designed to do it's job without ANY additive product) is not proper procedure . As well a number of fine bolts and screws were either missing or stripped. So many sloppy and careless issues. For a car that was originally priced at $100K I'm coming to grips with the wasted money at this point. The shop had to do the job twice due to oil still leaking. The "Alternator Bracket Gasket" is indeed a gasket. It sits behind the alternator bracket and mount used to hold the oil thermostat for cars equipped with the oil cooler. Models not equipped have just the face plate bracket. You would think a qualified BMW mechanic would know that... read more

I wouldn't even give 1 star but its the lowest rating. I took my vehicle there as it was stalling. They diagnosed the issue to be a ecm module. After waiting 5 hrs and having to call for status i was told the part isnt carried by the dealer any longer. They had to search for after market and get back to me. I did research myself finding it with a life time warranty. They called am hour later saying they found it and the part replaced with 3 yr warranty would run me 846 dollars. I found the part for 118 with a life time warranty preprogrammed as well. They wanted to charge me 846 for a plug and play module and give me 3 yrs warranty. I had also asked them to check my drivers side rear brake light. They told me that would run 321 dollars and needed to replace both sides even thought they worked. I found the parts for 65 dollars. They want 321 for the parts which only had 4 screws to replace them. After asking max what i owed, 141 and change for diagnosing the ecm issue i told him not do it and i would pick up the vehicle in the am. The next day i went there picked it up drove it home only to find from my brother following that the drivers brake light assembly was missing off the vechicle. Never again would i do business with this place. read more
